Anyone else get out of bed in morning & they can’t catch their breath/heart races?

This is only my 3rd week and I’m staring low dose and drinking enough water. I’ve been noticing my heart beats very fast when I get out of bed and it stays that way for at least a few minutes

Reta or Tirz?

Hi,

For those who have tried both. Which one do you prefer? I have also tried both, but would like to get more opinions. I feel like I had different side effects with each of them, but am so far liking Reta more. What works best for you guys? I want to buy my Peptide in bulk and not sure which one to choose.

Week 2 of Reta — stay at 0.5 or increase?

Hey everyone — I’m about to start week 2 on Reta and could use some guidance.

I started at 0.5 mg and so far I’ve noticed very mild food noise reduction and I’m eating a bit less at meals, but nothing major. No weight loss yet.

Trying to figure out what makes the most sense for week 2:

•	Stay at 0.5 mg a bit longer

•	Increase to 0.75 mg

•	Go up to 1 mg

I don’t want to rush it, but also don’t want to stay too low if I should be titrating up.

Would love to hear what others did early on and how quickly you increased. Thanks.

Question for slow responders

For context: I’m 57, I have autoimmune diseases. Fibromyalgia, possibly lubus (in the diagnosis stage) chronic inflammation, pain, and fatigue. I was on tirz for 2 years with no weight loss. But, the inflammation relief was crazy good. So several months ago, I decided to stop tirz. I switched to reta . I am at 5 mg. I did add back 2.5MG of TIRZ for the inflammation relief.

On to my questions.

Anyone else have these issues and lose weight on Reta?

If so, How did you do it?

Do I need a higher dose?

If you’re a slow responder and you lost weight, at what dose did you start to see results?

How long should I stay at a dose before moving up? And I’m talking about past the four weeks. I’m talking about long-term.

Any insight, and assistance is appreciated. Thank you.

Great Food Options

Hello 55 years young. Started Reta 2 days ago. No side effects yet.

By your experience what are some great food options for Protein, carbs and healthy fat?

I’ve seen sweet potatoes, pasta and granola for carbs.

Besides lean meat, what are some choices?

My Alcohol + Reta Experience

Morning guys! Just wanted to share my experience with alcohol and Reta and would love to hear yours as well!

1st time I went out for drinks I stuck with vodka sodas and light beer. Had a light meal and didn’t get the “drunk munchies” like I would normally get off Reta. I had quite a few but didn’t even notice a buzz. Next day I woke up with a headache (lack of water) but felt completely fine after downing some electrolytes. Weighed myself that morning and didn’t even gain a pound.

2nd time I had several mixed drinks. Got a light meal again and no munchies later on. Started noticing a slight buzz but not enough to start stumbling and slurring around. I still felt pretty focused and engaged with my friends. When I went to bed, I noticed I had the baby spins even though I felt completely fine throughout the night😂. Woke up to no headache but I did have to 💩 a lot thanks to the beer. I actually weighed myself before I went to bed and by the time I woke up, all of that weight was gone.

This is completely anecdotal but my alcohol experiences have been much more positive while on Reta. I’ve never been a binge drinker by any means but I feel like I can drink more without feeling the effects super fast like before.

HRV has significantly dropped

For those already monitoring their HRV trend, how has it evolved on your Reta journey? For me, one month in, I have gone from an average of 130-177 to BARELY cracking through 100–in fact sitting somewhere between 60-80, which for my baseline is horrendous.

Are there mechanisms to be set against the constantly exacerbating decline or does it eventually get better down the line?

Bunk Reta or just be patient?

Hey hey! Next week I’ll be entering my 3rd month on Reta and I’m feeling a little discouraged. I keep seeing posts of all theses super responders and people dropping huge amounts of weigh, but it’s simply just not happening for me. I realize I could be a slow responder, but I’m wondering if maybe my Reta is bunk?

Im using a single vial supplier, vetted from a friend who uses them for Triz. I started at 2mgs for the first month and have upped it to 4mgs for the second month. Going up to 6 next month.

It’s like I build a tolerance SO quickly. I really only feel the affects on my first shot. I couldn’t believe how much suppression I initially got at 2mgs, but by the end of the week my full appetite was back. I trusted the process and continues on for a full month, but wasnt feeling much of anything.

Upped it to 4mgs last month and same affect! Great appetite suppression, but by the end of the week, it fell off. I started pinning every 6 days to see if that helped and it kind of did. I still have mild suppression, and im not eating as much as normal, but it’s not this powerful feeling everyone describes.

I haven’t checked the scale because I’ll get really discouraged if I don’t see the numbers move, but I have noticed some small changes, mainly in my face and feet.

But anyways, I know building a rapid tolerance is a sign of degraded product, and/or maybe I’m just someone who needs a higher dose?

Im in the process off going grey. but it’s a lot of research and I’m still navigating it all - so I guess Im looking for those who have a similar experience as me, ir those of you who needed a higher dose to really see the thermodynamics kicking in.

Stats - 41, 5’5, apx 260. I walk 5x a week, yoga & Pilates 4x a week + active job. My eating habits are okay. I’ve DEFINITELY adjusted to smaller portions and better choices since starting Reta but I’m not insane about counting macros - thinking about really starting to track next week for more efficiency.

Something’s Wrong

I feel like something is wrong and am wondering if anyone has had a similar experience or any idea of what could be going on. I’m afraid I might have possible gastroparesis or wondering if it’s just anxiety related.

I’ve been at 2.5 mg twice a week for about 3-4 weeks now. Since upping to that it has been hard to get my calories in and I’ve been losing about three pounds a week. If was starting to make me feel malnourished and extremely fatigued, so I thought it would be time to start lowering my dose. I just took a 2 mg dose three days ago and have since not been able to eat. I’m going on day three with extreme nausea and not being able to eat without feeling like I’ll vomit. Last night I almost threw up while brushing my teeth. Even drinking water is hard. I keep getting the feeling I need to have a bowel movement or pass gas, and when I do nothing happens or the smallest piece comes out. Last night I started experiencing acid reflux.

I’m struggling with wondering if it’s gastroparesis or some other issue, or just nerves. The same day I took my dose, I found out some traumatic information about my mother and I’m moving across the country in the three days. Because of it all I had an anxiety attack too. Before Reta I would typically binge eat when I’m sad or stressed and now I can’t get anything down. I’ve tried pepto bismal and that didn’t work either. Not being able to to eat is currently adding to the anxiety.

Reta after gastric bypass

Hi everyone,

Looking for advice/experiences with Retatrutide.

I had a gastric bypass almost 2 years ago and my weight loss has stalled for the past 8 months. Current weight is 229 lbs (highest was 330). I’ve lost and regained about 100 lbs multiple times in my life, and I consistently seem to plateau around 220. I'm happy with all the progress over the years but I really want to reach my goal weight ... its not crazy just would like to see it drop below 200...

I’m very active: I work out 3–4x/week, do reformer Pilates once a week, and average about 8,000 steps daily. I also have above-average muscle mass for a 46-year-old woman. Nutrition-wise, I aim for 100g protein/day, low sugar, moderate fat, and high fiber, whole foods. I also take creatine. I typically eat around 1200–1500 calories/day depending on whether it’s a gym day or not.

Despite all this, nothing is moving.

I’m considering trying Reta to help reach my goal weight. I’ve never taken any weight loss medication before and have no health issues.

For those with experience:

Would you recommend starting at 0.5 mg or 1 mg?

Any tips, expectations, or things to watch for?

Thanks in advance!

Not losing

Been on 1 mg Reta weekly for a month along with 3.5 mg of tirzepatide (different days). Scale actually up a bit. This week added another 1 mg (2 total ) and will drop tirz to 3mg. I lift heavy, get close to 100g of protein. I’m 61 and weigh 127lb. The problem is I’m skinny fat as I am short waisted. Doc said I should be at 120. Will I start to lose?

Retatrutide - stalled after five weeks.

I had lost 10 pounds in the first five weeks. 1 mg - twice a week. I waited two more weeks to weigh myself and I haven’t lost any more weight! What the heck is going on. I only eat organic vegetables, chicken, steak (minimal) and fish and small amounts of carbs (a few crackers some days for stomach upset). Small (maybe two tablespoons - three) amounts of 5% Greek plain yogurt. Maybe half a banana a day.

I was already eating pretty much like this before I went on this and couldn’t lose any weight after menopause. I had borderline hypothyroidism and I’m waiting for lab results to see if that’s shifted at all with hormone replacement. I feel so defeated. I can’t believe even on this medication I can’t lose weight!

Over it.

I’ve only lost 5 pounds on retatrutide over the last three months. My starting weight was 162, I’m 5’8”, and my current weight is 157. My goal weight is 143. I’ve been eating around 1,500 calories per day and going to the gym 4–5 days a week, mostly strength training with one cardio-focused day at Orange Theory.

At the same time, I’ve experienced significant side effects. My resting heart rate has increased from the low 50s to around 65 bpm, and my overnight heart rate is now around 75 bpm. I’m also sleeping poorly, my blood pressure has dropped to around 90/63 (when it’s normally about 110/70), and I feel exhausted most of the time. And yes I take electrolytes daily.

I’ve been taking 1.65 mg per week, split into two doses, for the past seven weeks. I do not feel comfortable increasing the dose, as my blood pressure cannot go any lower and my heart rate cannot go any higher, especially overnight.

At this point, I don’t think retatrutide is the right fit for me. I seem to be getting the negative cardiovascular and blood pressure effects without meaningful weight loss. I also feel like I can achieve my goal on my own, as I have in the past. I initially hoped this medication would help me get there faster, but it feels like it’s actually doing the opposite, particularly because my body isn’t recovering well at night.

I’m so bummed! I thought this would be the GLP for me but I was wrong.
