Weight gain help (18, 5’2, 92lbs)

Ive been stuck at 92lbs for so long now and my goal weight is 110. i don’t really know how much I should be eating (like a specific calorie and protein goal) or how I should be working out, because I do notice I have some belly fat. So far, ive only really been doing cardio but wanted to get into weight training to build muscle.

I just wanted some help figuring out what i should do to meet my goals!

115lbs-140lbs (2 years) anorexia recovery

Hi, this is my progress recovering from anorexia. Believe it or not, I thought I still looked fat in the before picture. I have got used to eating more now, have a much better relationship with food, and although I still get occasional thoughts in my head (especially about my lower belly), I can control them better. Still aiming upwards, I’d like to get to 160-180lb range. I started at the gym a couple of months ago and it’s nice to get a buzz from getting stronger rather than seeing scales go down!

17 110lb-115lb 5ft 9.5 dude

Hi I’m 17 and have been both ends of the weight spectrum, when I was 12 I weighed 140lb and went on a diet and went down to 93lbs, in the the last 6 months or so I’ve always weighed around 109/110lbs, I started weight lifting in January and wanted to build more muscle so I started a bulk.

My bulk for the first week consisted of a 200 calorie surplus which I dropped after 2weeks to a 100 calorie surplus as I found I gained 2lb in one week!

Not looking for any praise or anything or saying this is a good or bad way to gain weight but just sharing what a 5lb gain in a month looks like and you can take it either way.

I now weigh 115lb, I will warn you that you will feel slightly flabby but I’m not fussed as I know it will wear off as I continue building muscle, I was under weight before as I’m 5’9.5 but now I’m classed as healthy weight !

Such a difference already. 5’ 10” 97 lbs to 108 lbs.

Feeling a lot better except the bloating is rough. Eating a ton of ice cream and chocolate and PB of course. I initially did end up getting symptoms of re-feeding syndrome and got a little worried but it passed a few weeks ago.

ive been underweight my whole life and want things to change

i'm 6'5 and around 140 pounds, 18 years old which is very underweight. I've always been underweight, and i want to gain weight. im very inconsistent with eating but have started working out consistently, is there any advice or any workout plans that anyone can share?

I’m malnourished

Hey folks, I finally gathered enough courage to talk about this topic and address it. First of all, I’m a 20 year old male and severely underweight (16 BMI).

Due to some early childhood issues and problems that I’m not gonna talk about, I haven’t been able to eat a healthy amount of food for almost 17 years of my life, and you can imagine how small that made me look after I hit puberty and stopped growing.

For context, I’m 5’6” (168cm) tall, skinny, and weigh 90 to 94lbs (41 to 43Kg). Recently (3 months ago) though, I’ve been able to take care of myself and got into a pretty decent financially situation, so I started to ‘bulk’ by increasing my daily calorie intake and eating surplus, I used to eat something around 1,600Kcal a day so I increased it to 2,100 then to 2,600Kcal. I also worked out my entire body for 2 to 3 times a week because I didn’t want to just gain weight, I wanted to be stronger and not just a bunch of rattling bones.

Progress? Weight gain wise, I’ve kept it up for about 2 months, went up from 40Kg to my current weight, and then I got hit in the face with another tough situation that made it hard for me to keep up.

Here’s what I have tried: Eating 6 small meals a day, eating a surplus of ~350Kcal, eating calorie-dense foods, managing my micro nutrients perfectly, putting effort into the food I cook so that I don’t throw up when I’m force feeding myself the 5th meal of the day, eating the same food everyday for 2 months straight.

I want to try again now. Should I reduce my activity level? Eat more? Use some kind of magic drug to help me eat more without feeling an urge to throw up? Any advice or motivation is welcome and appreciated.

Gaining weight after neglecting personal health for a long time

Now at 47kg (172cm male, 23y), my peak was 55kg, but after some events I started losing a lot of weight with my bottom at 43kg, now I'm "better" but still struggling to get where I was before, my goal is not only be at 55kg again but more than that. My problem is I still struggle with appetite and nausea, I cant force myself to eat without vomiting, but drinking shakes is fine I guess (But I dont think I can live with only shakes), I go to the gym 2-3 times a week and besides that I not really active, just studies. You know when people eat a lot when anxious or depressed? I guess my case is the opposite, I count calories, some days I can get things right but the majority of days I just cant eat anything without feeling bad, I threw half my lunch at the trash, didn't have breakfast etc. Mental health maybe? Yeah, I tried going to the psych but it is expensive and it didn't help at all, honestly Idk what to do with myself, I appreciate any advice, thank you all.

I don’t want to track calories since I did that for a year I went from 49kg to 64kg now I’m back at 50kg I got obsessed with the numbers and wasn’t looking at food for what it was so any tips or advice where I can gain weight in a healthy way that won’t destroy how I think about food

Is 1.2k liquid calories really as effective as 1.2k cals from solid food?

I do not only eat 1.2k calories don’t worry, I know I need to aim for about 3k but since I’m just starting this journey it’s about consistently trying to get to 2k+ cals in general every day. But I get a lot of calories from meal replacement bars and protein shakes and I’m afraid that they might not actually mean as much for my body as solid food does.

Body Composition Questions

Hey! I’m a 16 y guy who was wondering how to better my body composition

(I used to be 109, but got out of my depression and have since gained weight)

Im 5ft 11in tall, 121 pounds for reference in the photos

Hoping for 135 ish by the end of summer

I strength train 2-3 times a week, but I‘m a distance runner so obviously muscle gain is going to be slow compared to the average joe (I run 40-50 miles per week for track)

Even though my bmi is fairly low I have a bit more fat on some areas than I would like, but I think that once my arms and chest get bigger it will tend to balance that out.

For the past 4 weeks Ive been eating 3500 cals daily, to try to put myself in a surplus despite my huge running load, but I was wondering if you guys have any specific training tips, ie. where I should prioritize muscle gain, splits, whatever because I really am feeling stuck regarding how to train, and wanting to combat bloating and digestive issues from eating a lot, help?

45kg - 58kg (21 months)

I gained at a solid pace for the first ~16 months, but I've been stuck at 58kg for the past past 5 months. I'm happy-ish where I'm at though.

How to gain weight as someone living with ulcerative colitis?

All the foods that helped me gain weight years ago cannot be digested by my body anymore. I used to drink protein shakes and made my own shakes sometimes using milk. I can't find any dairy free protein powder where I live. Nuts are also so expensive as well as dairy free milk.

I (25F/58kg/5'5) try to eat as much but can't gain anything. My goal is 65kg.

I want to stay skinny for sure I just don’t want to be under weight. My goal is 115-120. What should I do?

Weight gain shake ideas

Hey all,

31F, 5ft3, 35kg and been stuck here for 3 years. Have gastroparesis and functional dyspepsia so eating and gaining weight is super hard and I'm on liquids and pureed foods only. Haven't exercised literally in 4 years except walking, though I used to weight train and weighed 64kg before I got sick.

One thing I havent tried is making my own smoothies and shakes, so any high calorie recipes for smoothie/shake ideas you have please feel free to drop them below! And any any weight gain tips you've found helpful particularly if you have no appetite.

Thank you!
