Golden dose? Is it going away?
I'm hearing from others in different countries the new pen doesn't have the golden dose anymore... anyone in Canada heard of this happening here yet?

For Kwikpens of 7.5mg and above, delaying a refill beyond 45 days risks losing the discount.
My kids know I’m working hard to be in better health - they don’t know I’m using zep. Well, they know I’m taking medication to help my hormones. 🤪 I don’t think it’s a lie.
Anyway - I have lost 20 ish pounds but I’m short and have a lot of weight to lose so no one has noticed a difference. (However - I can finally put on a pair of jeans again!)
Yesterday my daughter hugged me and was like, “Woah, mom! You have definitely lost weight - my arms can go all the way around and my hands meet now!”

Keep showing up for yourself.
I’ve been lifting weights for the last couple weeks. It took me weeks to finally incorporate official workouts but we can’t make all the changes at once.
Hello all! 👋 I am just about to start my Zepbound journey, and have been reading the posts here for a couple of days. The candor and the support are encouraging!
I was a healthy weight until over a decade ago at about the age of 28, when I developed a lot of hormonal issues, PCOS, thyroid disorder, depression, gallbladder removal and subsequent fatty liver, and all the medications involved with those things. I gained 120 pounds over 3 years, got to a weight of 297 and firmly stuck there ever since, no matter what. Recently my blood pressure has gone up and I've had enough. Weight loss would be great, although my main goal is to cut my risk factors for yet more issues going forward, resolve my elevated BP and slightly high cholesterol.
My biggest concern is heartburn/reflux, as I have been on metformin before and it caused no end of grief in that regard.
My 2.5 and 5 dose syringes are sitting in the fridge, waiting for me to take the plunge. 🙂
So blue cross doesn't cover Zepbound on my plan but since I've recently found out I have high blood pressure. I am curious if anyone else with high blood pressure has gotten the medication covered with a special authority form?
I started my weight loss journey with zepbound. Honestly its not just weight loss. I have been enjoying so much other benefits. My brain fog has reduced soooo much and even my fatigue went away. I heard zepbound is better than ozempic. But i wanna try ozempic due to lower costs and generic version coming out soon.
Any ideas anyone moving from zepbound to ozempic?
I had my consultations with hims and hers canada and my doctor told me to have supplements not to have hair fall. So far its going great but wanna know your opinions on Ozempic
I just got approved from Manulife for Zepbound yesterday and also filled in the form to get the discount card from Lilly. I'm on my way to get the prescription today and intend to start this week.
I wanted to take some photos and measurements now but I'm not a big fan of social media and don't want to post anywhere. I was wondering what everyone else is doing to track your photos and measurements and such? Is there a good app for this?
I was thinking of buying a scale and measuring tape that can sync to Apple Health (which I have never used before) but I was wondering what is best.
Did anyone have to get up to 7.5 0r 10 to see results? I took my 12 injection and one fluctuated between 6-10lbs loss. I have over 100 to lose. I’m paying out of pocket ( no Costco where I live) and wondering if this just isn’t for me? A year and a half ago I tried ozempic and it worked but caused a blocked bowel. So Zepbound hasn’t had side effects but even in a calorie deficit, low carb, high protein and exercise (rebounder walking ) I can’t seem to lose anything. I’m 49. I’m so discouraged and feel I’ve wasted a lot
of money on 6 lbs! I’m on 5mg
I heard the zepbound pen has some extra dose after the 4th dose. Is it possible to inject the golden dose without transferring it to another syringe?
M/44, 260lb, 6’0.
Long story short: my GP retired, so I’ve been using one of those pay-per-visit clinics and seeing a NP. I specifically asked about Zepbound for weight loss, she wrote the prescription same day, and then when I got to the pharmacy, it was for Mounjaro 5mg.
Issue 1: the dosage. My pharmacist caught it, and recommended a lower dose to start. I’m dealing with that.
Issue 2: I’m not diabetic. I know they’re the same, but I’m wondering if there could be insurance issues. Should I have pushed harder for Zepbound specifically?
Issue 3: I was mentally prepared to bite the bullet and pay out of pocket instead of going through insurance, but now I’m seeing people online saying I’m basically throwing money away. I don’t know what to do, how to pursue insurance, or if there’s even a point in trying.
I just need some practical advice and maybe a little reassurance that I haven’t completely screwed this up. I’m considering giving up.
Can anyone give me comparative pricing? I have the discount card. I note my local shoppers is charging $15 prescription charge. Anyone with recent numbers. Thanks all.
I just found out my insurance approved my PA and I will be starting this week. I am thinking of starting Wednesday evening to curb most of my weekend cravings also try and give over any major side effects before the weekend. Please share all your wisdom!
I keep seeing info on using the golden dose in the Kwickpen. I’m familiar with people drawing each dose out with a syringe, but for those using the pen to get the last dose - how do you know it’s a full dose? My understanding is that the extra is to cover priming with each new needle.
Hi everyone has anyone experienced an injection site allergy reaction? After my last 2.5mg and my first dose of 5mg the site where I injected has been getting red, hot, itchy and welts up. Kinda like a mosquito bite. It only started happening recently, don’t know if I should stop. I went into a walk-in they said it would be fine, or I can switch to wegovy but I heard wegovy isn’t as good as zepbound for weight loss
Can someone help me figure out the math on my 7.5mg pen . I’m doing click counting to slowly get up to 7.5mg . I took my first dose last Friday and did 6.0mg. If I were to go up to 6.5 this Friday. I would basically want to go up .5 every week until I get to 7.5z. how much would be left for the next few weeks ? Sorry if this sounds confusing, I’m confused trying to wrap my head around it all. And don’t come at me for click counting , I prefer to go up slowly to minimize side effects and it has worked well for me .
I just finished my second week on zep. No weight loss this week. Now that I have taken my third short this last Friday I can definitely say that the once I take my shot, I definitely am full most of the time — this works for day 2 and 3. But then this dwindles. I can’t finish my « usual » portions on these days but I can on the rest of the days. I also feel the « hunger » when I should be hungry as opposed to feeling full most of the time. I feel like my stomach isn’t as slow to empty. I don’t have any cravings though throughout the week, that includes alcohol beverages.
Is this because I’m on 2.5? I am drinking 3 litres of water a day and hitting my fiber goals.
Hey! Quick question about Wegovy + Greenshield.
I can see Wegovy is on my plan, but it’s listed as an “Exception Drug” and needs prior authorization from a doctor.
I’ve signed up with an online provider and qualify (BMI 32), but before I continue:
Has anyone actually had Wegovy approved through Greenshield?
How strict is the approval process?
Does it matter if it’s prescribed online vs your family doctor?
Just trying to see how likely it is to be covered vs paying out of pocket. Thanks!
I just finished my 10th week on 2.5 and down 18 pounds. Some days it feels like the drug is not working because of some returning food noise and particular cravings but I am trusting the process and continuing on the 2.5 as long as I can. The day before my shot I can feel some cravings coming back and I feel like I could snack all day.
I don't track calories or macros as that triggers some food control issues for me so I try to get in as much protein and fibre and I can in a day. I find this drug "makes" you make better food choices instead of reaching for the junk food. When I do eat higher fat, processed food I get stomach aches and feel terrible, almost like a hangover.
I get in 3 resistance training classes a week and mix in some pilates, walking, pickleball etc. Some days are harder than others to do this but I try!
The nausea and upset stomach subsided around week 4 but I still have bowels issues that I am trying to address with more fibre and water. Some of my joint pain has subsided and my mood seems elevated.
I am paying out of pocket so now I am using a 5mg pen and counting clicks (shout out to all those that posted the charts demonstrating how to do this! This group is great and I learn so much from you all).
All that is to say that it has been an interesting 10 weeks and I don't regret starting this journey. If you are on the fence or just starting trust the process and go as slow as you need to go to make the weight loss sustainable and easier on your body... cheers and happy Sunday.
Hello everyone, I hope you’re having a great day wherever you’re. I’m new here and would appreciate your advice/input.
I currently weigh about 220lb/100kg and this happened after meeting the love of my life haha 😆 albeit annoying, I’m ready to do the work to get back to my desired weight goals which is between 70-75kg. My doctor prescribed wegovy which I didn’t get because I was doing my own personal research, and my final decision is now zepbound! I do not have insurance and will be doing this out my pocket, how do I get the discount card and the best price. What’s the best level to begin with? I live in Alberta Canada and I already have another appointment scheduled to meet with my doctor for a new zepbound prescription. Do I need to tell him to start small and build up. Do I get it all at once and store in refrigerator or get a few and buy more as it finishes. Please advise on everything I need to know about. Thank you so much everyone.
Okay I need some practical + ethical fashion advice from this group.
Since starting this journey (and postpartum life before that), I’ve gone from about a size 10/12 down to a 2/4.
Here’s my dilemma: I have a few pieces I love and feel attached to:
a pair of Good American jeans
a long tube dress
another pair of Silver jeans
They’re all too big now, but not in a cute oversized way… just not wearable.
For anyone with experience in weight loss and/or tailoring, how realistic is it to have these taken in? Worth it? Or am I romanticizing it?
I’m also trying to lean more into slow fashion / sustainability, so part of me hates the idea of replacing everything if I don’t have to.
Would love to hear what’s actually worked for you, tailoring wins, fails, costs, or when you decided to just let something go 🧵
