Here in Gurgaon for my Taigun 1 year service.

[OC]

I see so many Virtus and Taigun lined up for fuel pump change.

These are lined up like a car meet here.

All the technicians and service people say these things -

- Delhi NCR fuel quality is super bad. The petrol stations are greedy and mixing something probably or their quality is degrading the car.

- E20 blending is bad and we cant do anything about it.

- Due to excessive heat the pump gets a dry run and gets burned out and when there is an issue the ECU shows error light.

People dont keep the fuel at the higher level and only fill up when it goes empty.

The service recommends to fill up the tank once you have the 100 km range or is left with 25% fuel.

This keep the pump fully submerged and doesn’t let it run dry or get heated up at all.

It is also recommended to give your car a rest when driving long hours.

If there is an ECU ISSUE OR FUEL PUMP ISSUE, Here is what you should do -

- give the car some rest, have something to eat meanwhile and let it rest and cool down.

- you can move and drive the car when cooled down with a limited speed of 50 km/h.

- the pump is working fine when you get the ecu light but it’s not that efficient anymore and may cause a lag in distribution to the engine.

- fill up tank if you can when its cooled down.

- bring it to the service station

- get the fuel pump changed for free from service stations since it comes under 4 year’s warranty.

This is a serious issue with fuel quality in DELHI NCR. Should be rectified or at-least called upon.

The service station where I went recommended the Indian oil pump on the chowk in Sector 52 wazirabad. Near the Frontier Service center. They say they got it checked and it came out fine.

What are your thoughts on this?

My Taigun is safe for now but till when, I wonder?

Volkswagen Taigun 1.5L Sports Manual (Manufactured Feb 2026) (Not Facelift) Quote By Dealer: Should I buy?

I’m six feet tall and drive my car with the seat as far back as possible.

I’m not looking for a huge bag like the Mahindra 7XO.

I’ve already looked at the Creta and Seltos, but after test driving them, I’m not convinced about the build quality.

The dealer offered me a deal where he’s willing to add another twenty thousand. Now, I’m torn between buying it or not?

Bought the taigun 1.5 tsi manual

My family bought a year back model - 2025 December model. Got it for 2.8 lakh discounted price with some accessories free.

Got it delivered yesterday, and drove back home. Phenomenal engine and driving dynamics.

I need all of your opinions on whether to take the care package and if I should take the extended warranty now or sometime later. Also advice on any other regards is also appreciated.

Also is normal fuel ok? Saw some posts where premium petrol is advised.

Kushaq or Slavia

I am planning to purchase my 1st car and new to driving. Preference is to buy SUV automatic that looks awesome. I am planning to buy Skoda Kushaq (Budget:15-17 Lacs). However, when I visited showroom, I really liked Slavia. So now I am confused between Sedan and SUV. Slavia is slightly cheaper than Kushaq. My use is mostly in city driving , Mumbai-Eastern Expressway.
Kindly advise is it worth getting SUV or sedan will do just fine. Which other car can i get with decent fratures in this Budget.

My VW taigun 1.0 litr MT has run only about 33,000 km, and it has already encountered what appears to be a major engine-related issue. There was loud engine rattling (tak-tak) sound all of a sudden while driving with my family.

I stalled the car and towed it to the service center . It's been 2 weeks and the only detail i got is "technical centre is guiding us , we are doing work" .. Nothing specific. Just pushing time. It's in warranty.

But one thing they said is it's mostly from Engine head. They might need to open the engine. But not confirmed yet.

However, given the complexity, the estimated resolution timeline is around 2 months.

If an engine is opened and repaired at such a low mileage, can it truly be relied upon again with full confidence? Practically speaking, once a major engine teardown happens, there is always a lingering doubt about performance consistency, fitment precision, and future issues.

I already faced a situation where I am stuck in late evening in highway with my family n 2 yr old kid waiting for towing truck. With this re-assembled engine i don't have confidence .

This raises important question about the reliability of the 1.0 TSI engine. If this engine is considered reliable, then could this be an isolated defective unit? In such a case, should a full engine replacement be considered instead of repair?

This brings up another important point:

In such cases, is it reasonable to expect the manufacturer to provide a temporary replacement or loaner vehicle? For metro city it's necessary.

I am raising this not as a complaint, but as a genuine question about ownership experience and brand accountability. When a brand positions itself as “world-class,” how should customers interpret and expect support in situations like this?

Pressure washer cleaning at home. It's fun and the gloss was simply amazing!! (Swipe please & read below for more)

[OC]

Got a new pressure washer recently and after putting in so much work cleaning the car the end result was so rewarding 🤌🏼✨

The pictures show all the cleaning supplies I've used (I used AI to create the illustrations on the 3rd image so please excuse the little inconsistencies in the image).

The car is 3 months old btw.

Here's a list of supplies I've used so far :

- car101 wax infused duster (for cleaning dry dust)

- TONS of different microfiber towels ofc 😂

- wavex all purpose degreaser

- vw car shampoo

- 3m car shampoo

- turtle wax seal n shine

- meguairs yellow wax (the gloss is simply amazing)

- wavex silicone glaze (for tyres and plastic trims)

- amazon basics pressure washer

- shakti foam cannon

- 3m automotive glass cleaner

- 3m dashboard dresser (I just got these last two 3m products so I'm yet to use them)

For the engine bay I used the the widest fan nozzle and made sure that I spray the water from 4-6ft away so at that point the water was more of a mist compared to actual high pressure water that could get into all sorts of places. I didn't directly spray water onto the area where the ECU & battery are located. For cleaning I used the degreaser diluted with water in a spray bottle.

After washing I used an air blower to blow water out of all the connectors and other critical places just as a precaution.

I don't plan on cleaning the engine bay regularly, once or twice a year tops

Polo GTI style red pinstripe on grill (DIY)

It’s insane how difficult it is to get good pinstriping tape in India. Just wanted to try out a DIY mod to the cosmetics of the car.

Taigun 1.0 TSI MT Highline Plus @ 15L OTR Bangalore. Good deal or emotional decision? 😅

Planning to buy Taigun 1.0 TSI MT Highline Plus in Bangalore (2025 year Pre facelift). On road price is coming around 15L including basic accessories and 4 years extended warranty. Also planning to exchange my Fiat Punto.

Wanted to understand from people here whether this is actually a good deal or just an average deal in current market.

My driving is mix of highway and city. Around 40% highway I’d say. But city driving also mostly office commute only. I leave around 6 AM and come back around 1 PM usually, so I don’t really deal with proper Bangalore peak traffic daily.

Now the obvious question is why MT and not AT.

Honestly two reasons.

One is budget itself. My original budget was around 13L and I already stretched another 2L for this.

Second is, I’m 29 now and I kind of feel these next 5-6 years are probably the time I’ll still enjoy driving manuals. After that I’ll most likely become convenience oriented and move towards AT anyway. So I want to enjoy MT while I still feel like it.

And then comes the next question. If budget is already stretched, why Taigun itself. Why not something else.

I genuinely tried. I drove Venue, Creta, Kylaq, Magnite, Sonnet, Seltos, Brezza. Some of them definitely made more sense financially too. But none of them gave me the feeling Taigun gave. It honestly reminded me of the first time I drove my Punto. That connected feeling.

I already know the common cons people talk about. AC issues, some VW niggles, slightly expensive maintenance/accessories compared to others etc. Still somehow leaning towards buying it.

One more reason also. Slightly emotional maybe.

When I was in my early 20s, I badly wanted to buy RE Classic 350. But I kept postponing it thinking I’ll do it later after saving more. That later never came and now I don’t even feel the same excitement towards it. Don’t want to repeat that again here.

So wanted some honest opinions from existing owners.

Is 15L OTR for Highline Plus MT in Bangalore a decent deal currently?

What accessories are actually worth taking from showroom and what should be done outside?

Also for long term VW ownership, what are the small things people do that actually helps in the long run?

I’m confused between the Skoda Kushaq 1.5 DSG and Volkswagen Virtus GT 1.5 DSG.

I personally prefer the Virtus for its sedan driving feel and enthusiast appeal, but the Kushaq seems more practical for long-term usage and family comfort.

My main concern is:

  1. Virtus purchase i have to do on current model will miss out on few features on facelift launch later this year.
  2. Will proper enthusiast sedans and 1.5 turbo petrol engines like the Virtus still exist 5–6 years later, or will the market fully shift towards SUVs, hybrids, and EVs?

Would it make more sense to:
- Buy the Kushaq now and possibly move to a sedan later if the segment still exists
or
- Buy the Virtus now and keep it long term before enthusiast sedans become rare?

Which would you recommend considering future trends, practicality, and ownership experience?

Taigun 1.0 automatic Tyre Pressure

Hi everyone,

I’m a new driver and a new owner of a Volkswagen Taigun, so I’m still learning a lot about the car and would really appreciate some guidance from experienced owners here.

I had a question regarding tyre pressures. The sticker on the driver-side door mentions around 41 PSI front and 48 PSI rear for full load, which felt a bit high to me for regular Indian driving conditions, so I wanted to understand what most owners practically use.

Currently, I was thinking:

- City driving with 2 people: 33 PSI front / 33 PSI rear
- Highway trips with 2 people + 2 medium luggage bags: around 34 front / 36 rear

Would that be a good setup?

Also, what tyre pressures would you recommend for:
- 4 adults
- Plus luggage for all 4 people
- Mostly highway driving with some rough/monsoon roads

Would really appreciate your suggestions and real-world experiences. Thanks in advance 😊

My 3 and a half year old slavia’s battery died today morning. I still have 6 months of warranty left on my car and I heard somewhere we have to get the battery replaced at the service centre only as they to code the auto engine start/stop feature and if I get it replaced someplace else it voids warranty. Please let me know if this true the service centre is quoting 12k for battery replacement including labour

Taigun GT Line Accessories: OEM vs Aftermarket? (Skipped the ₹15k dealer kit)

Hey everyone,
I am about to take delivery of my new Taigun GT Line (Deep Black Pearlescent) here in Bangalore. I decided to skip the standard ₹15,000 accessories package at the showroom because I didn't need every single item in it, but now I need to pick up a few specific essentials.

I got a quote from my dealer for individual accessories, and I'm trying to figure out if it's worth buying these directly from VW for the exact fit and quality, or if I should just go to the aftermarket.

Here is the quote the dealer gave me:

* Mudflaps: ₹2000
* Door edge guards: ₹1250
* Window sun blinds (rear): ₹2500
* 3D floor mats: ₹3500
* Car cover: ₹1640

**My main questions:**

  1. I invest in a premium aftermarket cover?

  2. General Quality:

  3. Are the OEM mudflaps, door edge guards, and sun blinds worth the premium, or is the aftermarket stuff just as good for a fraction of the price?

  4. If anyone has specific brand recommendations or good accessory shop suggestions in Bangalore, I would really appreciate it! Thanks!

VW dealer pre-invoiced my car to themselves 5 months before I bought it

Context: I bought a 2024 manufactured Taigun in April 2025.

Issue: When I went for my 1st periodic maintenance under VW's 4EVER Care, the service centre denied it.

Reason: "car was invoiced in our system on 30 Oct 2024, so warranty / RSA / SVP / free service clock all started then." The salesperson admitted pre-invoicing to dealer itself is standard practice for hitting incentive targets, and customers aren't informed.

Net impact: loss of ~5 months of warranty / RSA / SVP, plus the 1st free service. Extended warranty is more expensive and SVP offer is for 2 years alone.

My read: The Oct 2024 entry was internal stock-booking.

Questions:

  1. Anyone dealt with this exact pre-invoicing issue (VW or other OEM)? How did it get resolved?
  2. Is this an ethical practice? Given I was not even involved in car purchase discussion until much later.
  3. Best escalation routes if VW customer care doesn't resolve it?

Bought a VW Taigun in November 2025, and literally on the second day, I got a big dent on the right side driver's door while taking it out of a parking spot. At the time, I decided not to repair it immediately. My plan was to wait until a few more minor scratches accumulate and then get everything fixed in one go under a single insurance claim. About 3 months later, I took the car to a VW service centre for a minor service. I still didn't get the dent repaired then, but the service centre would have a record of the car's condition at that time, including the existing dent and scratches. Now, 5+ months after the incident, I want to get it repaired at a VW authorized service centre under insurance. My questions: Is it still possible to file an insurance claim for damage that happened 5 months ago? Will the delay in claiming cause any issues with the insurer? Will the service centre records from the minor service help or hurt my case? Any advice from people who've dealt with own-damage insurance claims would be really helpful!
