[Delivery] Upgraded to the Taigun 1.0 AT GT Line (Deep Black)!

After weeks of overthinking, test drives, and spreadsheets, I finally took delivery of my new Volkswagen Taigun 1.0 TSI AT GT Line in Deep Black Pearlescent!

We recently welcomed a newborn into the family, so it was time to let go of our trusty Tata Tiago. We desperately needed something with rock-solid structural safety, better highway stability, and enough rear-seat space for an infant car seat.

Here is a quick breakdown of the deal.

The Deal:
Model: 2026 Feb Taigun 1.0L TSI AT GT Line (Pre-facelift)
Color: Deep Black Pearlescent
On-Road Price (Bangalore/KA): ₹17.3 Lakh without accessories

Taigun GT Line Accessories: OEM vs Aftermarket? (Skipped the ₹15k dealer kit)

Hey everyone,
I am about to take delivery of my new Taigun GT Line (Deep Black Pearlescent) here in Bangalore. I decided to skip the standard ₹15,000 accessories package at the showroom because I didn't need every single item in it, but now I need to pick up a few specific essentials.

I got a quote from my dealer for individual accessories, and I'm trying to figure out if it's worth buying these directly from VW for the exact fit and quality, or if I should just go to the aftermarket.

Here is the quote the dealer gave me:

* Mudflaps: ₹2000
* Door edge guards: ₹1250
* Window sun blinds (rear): ₹2500
* 3D floor mats: ₹3500
* Car cover: ₹1640

**My main questions:**

  1. I invest in a premium aftermarket cover?

  2. General Quality:

  3. Are the OEM mudflaps, door edge guards, and sun blinds worth the premium, or is the aftermarket stuff just as good for a fraction of the price?

  4. If anyone has specific brand recommendations or good accessory shop suggestions in Bangalore, I would really appreciate it! Thanks!

Trying to decide between two options and a bit confused about what’s the smarter pick long-term.

Option 1: Pre-facelift Taigun GT Line
Price: ₹17.5L
Jan/Feb 2026 manufactured
Fully loaded (sunroof, digital cluster, auto features etc.)
6-speed automatic

Option 2: Facelift Taigun Highline Plus
Price: ₹18.4L
Latest model
New 8-speed automatic
Updated infotainment & interior
But misses some GT Line features

My confusion:
Is the 8-speed gearbox + newer model worth ~₹90K extra?
Or is GT Line better value because of more features at lower price?
Also considering long-term ownership (5–6 years)

Would love to hear from:
Current Taigun owners
Anyone who has driven both 6-speed vs 8-speed
