Taigun 1.0 TSI MT Highline Plus @ 15L OTR Bangalore. Good deal or emotional decision? 😅
Planning to buy Taigun 1.0 TSI MT Highline Plus in Bangalore (2025 year Pre facelift). On road price is coming around 15L including basic accessories and 4 years extended warranty. Also planning to exchange my Fiat Punto.
Wanted to understand from people here whether this is actually a good deal or just an average deal in current market.
My driving is mix of highway and city. Around 40% highway I’d say. But city driving also mostly office commute only. I leave around 6 AM and come back around 1 PM usually, so I don’t really deal with proper Bangalore peak traffic daily.
Now the obvious question is why MT and not AT.
Honestly two reasons.
One is budget itself. My original budget was around 13L and I already stretched another 2L for this.
Second is, I’m 29 now and I kind of feel these next 5-6 years are probably the time I’ll still enjoy driving manuals. After that I’ll most likely become convenience oriented and move towards AT anyway. So I want to enjoy MT while I still feel like it.
And then comes the next question. If budget is already stretched, why Taigun itself. Why not something else.
I genuinely tried. I drove Venue, Creta, Kylaq, Magnite, Sonnet, Seltos, Brezza. Some of them definitely made more sense financially too. But none of them gave me the feeling Taigun gave. It honestly reminded me of the first time I drove my Punto. That connected feeling.
I already know the common cons people talk about. AC issues, some VW niggles, slightly expensive maintenance/accessories compared to others etc. Still somehow leaning towards buying it.
One more reason also. Slightly emotional maybe.
When I was in my early 20s, I badly wanted to buy RE Classic 350. But I kept postponing it thinking I’ll do it later after saving more. That later never came and now I don’t even feel the same excitement towards it. Don’t want to repeat that again here.
So wanted some honest opinions from existing owners.
Is 15L OTR for Highline Plus MT in Bangalore a decent deal currently?
What accessories are actually worth taking from showroom and what should be done outside?
Also for long term VW ownership, what are the small things people do that actually helps in the long run?
