We have 9 BYOIP /24 blocks in OVH, they charge zero cost for it on monthly basis and normally OVH provides 7 days to clear the bill. Since BYOIP doesn't carry any charges, we didn't expect that it will get expired. But it got expired on 2nd May and the bill gets generated on 1st may. BYOIP block has just vanished from OVH IP list.
We have been customer of OVH since 2017.
OVH marked three of our IP blocks expired without any intimation or warning, and upon clicking renew the order. It puts the order in validation status.
We have opened tickets across various departments and we are waiting from last 8-9 hours for a reply. There is no response yet. A very large part of our infra is down due to this outage.

We are hoping to get a response as soon as possible.

EDIT 3rd May 2025: 17-18 hours have passed, no update from OVH and no resolution of the issue yet. It's a shame that due to billing error in their system, a client has to face 18 hours of downtime.
768 IPs have stopped working and there is no update from OVH yet.

EDIT 4th May 2025: Called them like 5-6 times today, they restored working two IP blocks but one is still down. The IP Blocks which I was using on vrack started working again but the one which I had working as failover on the servers, it is still not working. It is almost 6 PM and there support is about to go offline.

Around 7 PM, the issue was completely resolved and they restored the third IP Block.

My dedicated servers got a bogus DMCA takedown request a few days ago and OVH T&S team required an reply to indicate "which measures you've taken to stop the abusive behaviour" (which there is none). I did reply to the email, but got no reply for about a week.

Fast forward to today, I just got another couple of takedown notices from the same DMCA agent, and OVH T&S team indicated in the email:

As explained in a previous message, this problem requires immediate action.
Should the abusive behavior continue, we would be forced to suspend your service, as per our Terms.
Please answer to this e-mail indicating which measures you've taken to stop the abusive behaviour.

From the wording, it feels like my earlier reply did not deliver or read at all, and now they are threatening me for service suspension. I replied to the email again, now with a very long explanation of what's happening, but honestly I'm not sure if it's delivered and if anyone will read it. The OVH abuse email server did not reply to the delivery status notification request as well.

Is this radio silence expected from the T&S team, or are my emails really not delivering?

Is it possible to transfer a dedicated server to any other person i.e to his/her account.

There is a server with some months remaining of contract period, is there any provision via which we can transfer to another user, who might need the same + offer some benefit for it.

Hi everyone,

I’m considering renting an OVHcloud Eco dedicated game server, probably either KS-GAME or SYS-GAME-1, and I’m trying to understand how useful OVH Game DDoS Protection would be for a game that is not listed in the supported game profiles.

I already read the OVH documentation, but I’m still not fully sure about the practical result.

From what I understand:

  • Game DDoS Protection is only available on Bare Metal Game dedicated servers.
  • Newer GAME-1 / GAME-2 servers support up to 100 rules per IP.
  • Older game ranges, such as SYS-GAME / RISE-GAME, support up to 30 rules per IP.
  • The protection works by selecting a supported game/protocol profile and defining the port range.
  • There is also an “Other” protocol option, but OVH says it does not add much security and should be used with caution.

My use case is a custom/unsupported game server. The game I want to host is not in the list of OVH supported game profiles.

My questions are:

  1. If my game is not listed, does the OVH Game Firewall provide any meaningful game-level / L7 DDoS protection?
  2. Is the “Other” profile just a pass-through rule for the port, or does it still provide some useful filtering?
  3. For unsupported games, is the only real protection the standard OVH Anti-DDoS Infrastructure + Edge Firewall / server firewall rules?
  4. Would there be any practical DDoS-protection advantage in choosing KS-GAME or SYS-GAME-1 over a regular OVH dedicated server if the game protocol is unsupported?
  5. For people who used OVH Game servers with unsupported games, did Game Firewall actually help, or did you end up disabling it / using only normal firewall rules?

I’m not asking about hardware performance only. I’m specifically trying to understand whether the GAME range is worth it for an unsupported game protocol, or whether it only makes sense when the game has an official OVH protection profile.

And the most important question: is there a gaming firewall in the line (ECO KS-GAME SYS-GAME-GAME-1)

Any real-world experience would be appreciated.

OVH ghosting me in support ticket

OVH randomly took around 100 EUR from my PayPal Account - for an invoice for IP Parking from many years ago, which I do not recognize as I never parked any IPs.

Support Ticket got one Bot answer, now I get ghosted since 1 month.

This is truly the OVH experience from years ago. Still the same retards.

Just posting this here to spread the word; do NOT use OVH.

Hello,

I am a bit lost with OVH Kimsufi and their firewall configuration ...

I am trying to host a Project Zomboid server, clients can connect if I disable the Edge firewall or allow their whole IP address but, if I configure the firewall for ANY to UDP ports, it won't work for no obvious reason...

I have the feeling OVH is messing with UDP traffic because it's the second time I have the same kind of issue ...

I had the opportunity to test the OVH support but man they were frustrating and useless ...

Any idea on what else I could try ?

Hello i saw at eco kimsufi a dedi example sys game 2 but it has 500mbps band and i know it comes with one ip , so is possible later to upgrade the band to 1gbps example and to order additional ips or small subnet ?

OVHCloud VPS crashes often

I use OVHCloud VPS with Windows server for Ninja Trader Desktop application running a MES Automated Strategy.
This VPS crashes pretty often, at least once week, sometimes during the trading session. I stopped contacting support anymore. They don't find any issues with platform, and keeps asking for more logs. Then usually blame the the application without providing any evidence.

Main reason I use it as it is pretty cheap compare to others.

I am curious if anyone else uses OVHCloud for Ninja Trader application and they face similar issue.

Hi everyone,

I’m currently handling a domain and website migration for a client (they want control over it internally) and I’m running into an issue with email management on OVH.

This exact scenario is a bit new to me, so I’d really appreciate any insight.

Here is the situation:

  • The domain has been fully transferred to the client OVH account.
  • I now have full control over the domain and DNS (the previous provider confirmed he no longer has access).
  • Emails are actively working (sending/receiving), and they are business-critical (contact@, direction@, etc. must not go down under any circumstances).
  • Before starting the migration, I was explicitly told that emails would not be impacted as long as DNS records were not modified.

Before doing anything, I took every precaution with the previous manager to make sure everything was properly handled, especially regarding emails.
I explicitly confirmed that emails would not be interrupted under any circumstances, and that I would need the domain to attach it to a new hosting server.
I was assured that emails are handled through OVH, and everything was fine as long as DNS records were not modified.

However, despite all these precautions, it is somehow worrying right now.

I asked again considering the situation and the previous manager confirmed that emails are handled by OVH, and mentioned (from memory) something like Email Pro, possibly with Exchange-related configuration, but he no longer has access to verify.

On my side, I haven’t modified anything yet.

What I can see:

  • MX records pointing to OVH: mx3.ovh.net, mx4.ovh.net, mxb.ovh.net
  • DKIM records such as: ovhmo4025509-selector1._domainkey... ovhmo4025509-selector2._domainkey...

However:

  • I do NOT see any email service (MX Plan, Email Pro, Exchange, etc.) in my OVH account
  • I have zero visibility or access to the existing mailboxes

That's worrying and I can't get any information anywhere.

My questions:

  1. Is it possible that an MX Plan / Email Pro is still attached to another OVH account even after a full domain transfer? (Which doesn't make sense to me since the previous manager had control over and could see them, and transferred everything to me, so I don't know where they would have gone during that process.)
  2. How can emails continue to work if I don’t have the service visible in my account? Is it a race against time now, like are there still active because the previous contract is still up for a month or something?
  3. What is the correct and safest way to recover the admin control to the existing mailboxes? To reattach the service I guess?

Additionally:

  • The domain transferred is currently attached to a free 100MB OVH hosting plan.
  • I need to remove this hosting to attach the domain to a new hosting (new website).
  • Can I safely delete this hosting without impacting emails, assuming DNS/MX records remain unchanged? Or is it possible that the email service is somehow tied to this hosting

Because until this hosting server is up and the domain I need is linked to it, I cannot add it on the multisite of the right hosting. And I get the "Website in construction" page (even tho the DNS are pointing to the right server)

Of course, I have opened a ticket with the support, but this matter is urgent and worrying, so I am trying to get any information I can.

⚠️ Email continuity is absolutely critical for the client, so I cannot risk any interruption.

Bonjour à tous,

Je représente une association en Bretagne, en France, qui vise à promouvoir l’informatique auprès des TPE et PME locales. Un commercial OVH nous a proposé de faire la transition depuis AWS vers OVH et nous a offert un crédit de 200 euros pour un mois.

Malheureusement, une personne de l’association a, par inadvertance, cliqué sur un bouton non clairement indiqué, ce qui a augmenté "un quota" de 200 euros (plus 40 euros de taxes), soit un total de 240 euros. Nous avons réellement été débités, alors que nous n’avons consommé aucun service supplémentaire. Je tiens à préciser que je suis habitué à utiliser AWS et Microsoft Azure, et je n’ai jamais rencontré de tels problèmes de facturation avec ces acteurs. Il est d’autant plus décevant qu’OVH, une entreprise française, soit confrontée à ces pratiques peu claires, alors que nous avions justement choisi de soutenir la souveraineté française.

Pouvez-vous m'aider à clarifier la nature de cette facturation et de m'aider au remboursement des 240 euros.

has anyone dealt with this before?

Got a refund approved by OVHcloud for an accidental VPS renewal, and they issued it as “Prepaid account” credit instead of directly refunding the payment method.

However, when I try opening the OVH account/prepaid balance page from the manager, it redirects to a “404 Not Found - nginx” page..

Has anyone dealt with this before? Were you able to get the prepaid credit refunded back to your original payment method, or is it only usable as OVH account balance?

Support has been super helpful so far, just curious about others’ experiences with this. Thanks for reading

Domaine expiré / renouvellement impossible (impossible de se connecter à OVH)

Bonjour,

Je suis dans une situation de blocage circulaire chez OVH et j'ai besoin d'aide.

Mon nom de domaine a été suspendu par OVH. Le problème : mon adresse email professionnelle est hébergée sur ce même domaine. Résultat, quand j'essaie de me connecter au manager OVH pour régler la situation, OVH m'envoie un code de vérification 2FA... sur l'adresse email liée au domaine suspendu. Je ne reçois donc jamais le code et je ne peux pas accéder à mon compte.

Serpent qui se mord la queue : domaine suspendu → email mort → impossible de se connecter à OVH → impossible de réactiver le domaine.

Ce que j'ai déjà essayé :

  • Me connecter via le manager (bloqué par la 2FA)
  • Accéder au webmail OVH directement (même problème)

Ce que je cherche :

  • Ou un contournement pour récupérer l'accès au manager sans la 2FA
  • Ou toute autre solution que vous auriez déjà vécue
