Help with tension

Singer9185
My bobbin fill is showing on top. I read it’s to do with tension however how do you know if it’s top or bottom and whether it’s too tight or too loose? With the muslin I did the lower design with super stable stabiliser and top one I done with super strong stabiliser with wash away on top to see if will help. But I haven’t a clue to know what’s tight or what’s lose if it’s lower or upper. My tension for upper thread is set at 4. My machine also makes like a rattle noises everytime that happens it’s when the bobbin fill is showing through. Any advice would be appreciated.

A few hat designs I’ve been testing

most of my experience before this was on digitizing for flats but it’s been really fun!

Looking for some help

Hello, I'm looking for some recommendations and some advice when it comes to getting an embroidery machine.

I've done a lot of research and got different stuff using the advice of Google and articles. But I'm looking for a non add/promoting option on a good embroidery machine and a software that isn't $1000+.

I'm looking for something that can handle a bigger embroidery area. I need it for work, making cosplays and other bigger designs (Roughly 7 inches). My budget is around 1k I'm not too sure if that is realistic or not.

Id appreciate any help :)) thanks

Hatch 4 Embroidery Software - Worth upgrading again from Hatch 3?

Hey everyone,

Curious what your thoughts are on Hatch 4 so far. I've owned Hatch since the original version and currently have Hatch 3. Between all the paid upgrades over the years, plus some of the add-ons/elements, I've spent more on upgrades than the original software itself.

A few of the new features look useful, especially the multi-blend tool, but I'm still trying to decide if there's enough here to justify yet another paid upgrade.

Some of the other stuff feels more like smaller workflow improvements than major new features. The AI chat thing also doesn't really move the needle much for me personally since most people already use ChatGPT anyway.

I also noticed a few of the new workflow features being highlighted are things I've already seen in other embroidery software. I own Embroidery Legacy digitizing software as well, and features like continue digitizing and reshaping views have been there for quite a while already.

Not trying to bash Hatch at all, I used them for years. Just genuinely trying to figure out if this paid upgrade feels worth the price for people who already own Hatch 3?

How does everyone feel about the upgrade?

  • Does it actually feel noticeably different?
  • Has it improved your workflow much?
  • Worth the upgrade price in your opinion?

Hatch 4 just released

Just woke up to the hatch 4 update with 25+ features. I bought it a week ago for 1000 and now it’s on sale for 899 but they’re allowing me to update for no charge which is nice Link

Hat Embroidery Help

Can you guys please provide pointers? I’m wondering what went wrong here.

  1. I turned off zigzag underlay and just left edge run enabled.

  2. The letters stitched from the inside out as well.

  3. Sharp 75/11 titanium needle was used and the hat was hooped correctly, so no registration issues from what I can tell.

  4. No stabilizer used since it’s a Richardson.

  5. I did change the density to 0.009 inch/0.23mm (maybe this was the issue or maybe the font isn’t the best?)

  6. Bobbin is reading 27gf on the tension gauge

Embroidery stickers

Hi!! I've seen some people doing embroidery stickers, and they just stick them to something with no heat.

What are they using? Have you ever heard of this before?

(English is not my first language)

This idea worked!

I embroider a lot of little tops for my granddaughters. I have a hard time holding the edges of the fabric to keep them from getting pulled in. These clips from Harbor Freight work to hold the edges of the fabric back.

Help! My iron on stabilizer is stuck to my fabric!

My iron on stabilizer is so stuck to the tea towel’s fabric threads that it’s starting to make little holes in the front of the fabric. What is the best way to remove the stabilizer without causing any more damage?

I am an absolute rookie and embarrassed that there’s so much stabilizer on there to begin with.
