My iron on stabilizer is so stuck to the tea towel’s fabric threads that it’s starting to make little holes in the front of the fabric. What is the best way to remove the stabilizer without causing any more damage?

I am an absolute rookie and embarrassed that there’s so much stabilizer on there to begin with.
