or go clubbing, you can legally drink in Canada at eighteen or nineteen and they have fraternities as well so you could rush a frat there and legally be able to drink and be one of the brother of whatever from you join within the national organization because of that American fraternities recognize the canadian chapter or their frat just like the american one

or you could spend that first semester in Europe, Argentina, Japan, Brazil or new zealand just saying it is a lot more just and easier to have the first wild year of college in a country you can legally get in places that serve alcohol, and basically all the night clubs are eighteen and older none of that twenty one and older crap it makes having a social life a lot easier just thought I would share that bit of information, hope everyone enjoys their college years to the fullest

I am 22 M as are all of my friends, Graduated the a little over a year ago. Spent a year as a meteorological research assistant to a storm chaser wandering all over the American Midwest and most of the Deep South , the job ended and I had another job lined up when that one ended

had about eighty grand in the bank from previous saving from summer days long past lifeguarding as the lake in my hometown, and a small dog walking empire I built when I was teen, and the research assistant gig on top of that. a few of my buddies had similiar saving, none of us could afford a house individually but together we could swing a four hundred thousand dollars property with some land down by the river that was set up as a rental with like six apartments modulated from the house basement attic and garage barn complex on the property, it already had paid off solar panels, a few small windmills and well water so utility bills are nonexistent.

we got a lawyer involved house has to be sold in seven years unless me all agree unanimously to keep the property, house is in a trust, and a contract has been written regulating approved uses for the property, the fact no girlfriends or wives and move in, no one is permitted to start a family and live on the property of they forfeit their stake in the house, this is just a precaution so no one gf tries to move in and pull well i live here too crap and try to take over the place no offense of any women who read this just like we are avoiding a girl trying to kick everyone out of the property so she and one of my buddies ….can set up a family home or some shit, it is a blunt but necessary measure given how Bethany my friend Jaime’s current girlfriend is, you give the girl and inch and she will try to takeover all of Central Europe like napoleon in his first round of conquests.

we also have mandatory state of the trust house meeting once a quarter to address any issues with maintenance and things for the property.

My gf is pissed I did not ask her to move in with me.

So am I the jerk for this, I mean I now own property that is like a fifteen minute walk from work and I got the main floor of the house of a nice private three bedroom one bath apartments set up we have some land river access with a dock for fishing and boating and access to the side walk to I can walk to work saves on gas in all honest

TLDR bought a house gf mad, my friends built me a beer catty so I am conflicted but I like where I live now in all honesty

for the record these women are like the catty creepy women who make snide comments to people and occasionally make the interns cry. But the are women so HR never takes anything they do seriously no right ups no suspensions no firings for harassment or hostile behavior at the office.

Anyway Kevin our IT has a glass eye and it will some time pop out if he sneezes really hard it has only happened once, but and witches at the office decided they did not like Kevin anymore because he would not fix one of their personal laptops not a work laptop a personal home computer not used for work at all. so these three lied to HR and claimed Kevin was using his glass eye popping out as an excuse to sexually harass all three of them in the elevator at work, there are cameras in the elevators at work.which again I guess they did not think about HR and security checked the cameras cleared Kevin but again no consequences for those three witches for lying.

so I decided so do something about it, all three of these harpies are obsessed with perfumes and highly scented candles and things they keep at the office and wear to work. So we have an anonymous complaint HR box for office dangers not harassment but like broken lights and things so I just wrote an anonymous complaint about perfumes and heaven fragrances triggering asthma attacks for multiple employees and sending people home or to the hospital in recent months asking if HR could look into the issue as it was disrupting productivity and making people sick. A lie but an anonymous one that was health and safety related.

Like a week later we have an all hands meeting announcing a blanket ban on all scented candles, perfumes, lotions and such and they removed the air fresheners from the office break room and got some plants instead. The three witches are throwing a fit about it and two of them actually finally got written up for having those perfumes and damn candles burning in their offices. It is not justice for Kevin but it is something at least.

so am I the asshole for doing this kind of thing?

Now to keep this short and sweet like a fun sizes Hershey’s, I got married at eighteen,high school sweethearts you know the cliche. My now ex wife and I both worked summer jobs in high school saved a lot more that we spent and just decided to spend that money traveling the world to places we could actually function like adult i.e. Drink, go clubbing, and actually celebrate being married given we could not even drink legally in the good old US of A. We managed to make our savings last a little over two years ,before heading home we had wandered around South America,Europe, New Zealand, and Northern Africa, and parts of Asia.

But when we got back we were both broke, i managed to get a job at a summer camp that offered housing as a maintenance worker, but my wife did not want me to go it was rural as hell but offered housing and the pay was decent. It turned into a fight and an ultimatum if I took the job she would not be there when I got back, I did not think she was serious given the fact she did not have a job, my parents had moved so we could not stay with them and her parents wanted to give us both a ten pm curfew like her fifteen year old sister while we lived with them. So I went to work that summer camp job and she filed for divorce we only had one joint bank account so other then being shocked by the divorce, it was a simple process and by the end of the summer we were divorced.

since then I have gotten degrees in meteorology and accounting, payed off my student loans, and spend the last five years in a mix of storm chasing meteorologic research roles or working as a weatherman for the local community radio station, I got married again last week to a nurse mildred she is pregnant with triplets who are due in a few months. And my ex started posting random shit about how I am an asshole for just abandoning her that summer and for now living the kind of life she always wanted? So Am I the asshole in this situation, because I am just really freaking confused by all of this in all honesty?
