My gelding gang forming up with perfect color symmetry
(totally planned)
(totally planned)
This is your reminder. With the right care. Great things are possible. 104 days ago my 19 year old gelding tore his deep digital flexor tendon… and I thought for sure that was the end. But he’s given me so much. It was only fair I gave back to him. 104 days ago I was debating if he could rehab or if euthanizing would be kindest. I decided to try and see how he handled it all. He took it like an absolute champion. And I threw everything I could and then some at it. Shockwave. PRP. PEMF. red light. Special leg sweat to Lee swelling down. Standing wraps. More PRP. I did everything I possibly could. We followed the rehab plan to an absolute T. No turn out. No circle. No lunging. No round penning. Straight lines and walking… this horse was a saint. He hated every second of being stalled and not having a job. But he was a saint. And today 104 days after the initial injury. I was able to lope him again. He was cleared about a week ago to go back to work… without the right vets. Trainer. Farrier. And the whole team behind him I’m not sure this would have been possible. He and I are truly blessed with one hell of a team. 💕
He is the coolest horse I've met(I'm extremely biased)
Sadly yesterday, April 8th, I had to say goodbye to my dearly beloved horse Darcy. He tragically had an accident that nobody could have seen coming nor prevented. The initial understanding was a bruised hip, but the injury was later found to be a fractured spine. Ultimately I had to do what was best for him, and no matter how difficult the day was, I am glad to have been there every step of the way for him.
I have no words to describe how heartbroken I am to lose an animal that was so precious to me and others. He had a piece of my soul. He was so strong and fierce yet so gentle. He made me ten times the horse woman I was before him. He inspired me to work harder, face my fears, try new things, and more importantly, slow down and enjoy the ride. I planned for a whole lifetime with him, but not before he could teach me one final lesson: Not everything powerful in our lives is meant to be possessed. Some things are meant to be witnessed, loved, and eventually released. I will truly cherish every single memory for love was not proven in grand moments, but in steady presence.
I will search for you in the eyes of every horse I meet. I love you, and I will miss you dearly, Darcy❤️
my old boy max and my new boy william !
Regular registry paint papers. Labeled as an overo. Which is ironic. As he doesn’t carry any white patterns. He has a white booster and that’s it. Funny enough is he does have some white “roan” spots and random white clusters but that’s it. Hey but at least he’s super cute. He’s the loudest and flashiest paint you’ll ever meet. So hard to keep clean 😂😂
People were falling for it too even though it literally had the AI label on the post.
#LostBones #FossilFriday Horses vanished from North America ~10,000 years ago. So why are these fossilized teeth turning up across the Midwest.
No specimen dates have previously been documented in the state of Minnesota!
Will they point to the Ice Age, or something pre‑European contact? 💬 Share your thoughts — what do you think the dates will reveal?

what do we think of this 2 yr old? Was offered a killer deal on her and she is 100% my type but I'm curious what everyone else sees as I am a first gen equestrian and dont have all too many horsey friends, kinda doing it all on my own and shopping alone is intimidating lol. Thoughts and opinions welcome and wanted! This is not a post about handling or training, just conformation and papers ideally.
A very good boy, so tired. Sam worked very hard in his cross rail class. Good boy Sam!
I’d like to see what everyone would comment on how my boy looks, I am a new horse owner (bought him this month, leased him for 2mo beforehand) and my eye isn’t quite as well trained as someone with more time and experience. For a bit of background he is a 13yo registered apha gelding, he stands about 16.3hh. He does have some stifle issues that we are in the mix of trying to figure out medically/ working on building hind end muscle and getting him using himself more properly. Any pointers or advice on that end would help tremendously, thank you!
One of the saddlery’s around here provides it for free but you do have to haul to them. What does everyone’s local saddle fitter cost and do they come to you?
When I ponied Jo the other day my sister rode her mule, Lazlo! Henry was over with baby so she HUSTLED back to the barn. Thought this video was silly 😂
So a few days ago, I heard my boyfriend tell my 3YO Irish Cob that she had to grow a bit more so he can ride her. Had to break it to my man that the little shit won't grow a lot more now, and he's out of luck.
But this got me thinking, what would I look for if I was trying to find a horse for a rider of around 90kgs?
I know the unknowledgeable would tell me a draft horse of any kind, since they're big. But draft horses are built to pull, not to carry. So help me out horsegang, throw breeds known to have strong backs in my general direction.
