What was the OG plan for Beth... Her ending seems completely out of the ordinary...

Beth's death was a complete shock personally, I have never seen anything so unexpected play out, personally. Beth and Daryl were tied to each other, and Beth had a ton of development througout S5, especially with her learning how the world is now, in some weird way. But... killing her then? I personally think this was a last minute decision.

It's very much like Andrea's, just very out of the blue for an entire season of development. Andrea was supposed to save Woodbury and learn that she couldn't play peacekeeper anymore in some way, and she would in some way kill the governor at the end of the battle, and her character would be tied to Glenn, and - she would have some fued with Maggie because Hershel died because of her, this was all scrapped when they gave her death the go ahead.

Beth is very similar, I found all that information on Andrea through sources people dropped on Reddit, and archived posts, and a few internet scripts and stuff, but I can't find anything on Beth...Do you guys know anything about the OG plans?

I find her death to just be utterly disappointing and it was like all for shock value and for no narrative purpose.

Prison Jumpsuits or Caushal Clothing?

In the comic the survivors don prison jumpsuits whilest living in the prison.

However in the live action show, the survivors wear causal clothing, implying that they finding clothing in houses near by the prison.

Which attire do you prefer?

I prefer their causal clothing as it makes them stand out more.

In My Opinion, Simon Was Better Villain Than Negan

Look I’m not saying he’s a better CHARACTER than Negan, but when it comes to being a villain, Simon takes the cake

Just finished TWD

I just finished the whole original series. As much as I loved the cast of the last few seasons I really just want to know what happened to Rick and how that storyline was resolved. I see that "The Ones Who Live" is probably what I need to watch. Does anyone know the cheapest possible way to do it? I was watching the original series on Netflix and I also have hulu but it doesn't appear I can access it through either of those platforms...

On another note...is it worth watching? Bc I watched the last several seasons thinking we would get closure to that storyline or more insight rather than having ANOTHER character disappear into a storyline that is not resolved...

I was fine with the ending of the other characters plots honestly it was predictable but I wasn't mad. I am pretty easy to please to be honest, I just HAVE TO KNOW what happened especially bc they roped Mishonne into it! That further alludes to there being a meaningful story yet we had no peek into what could possibly be happening! Until the last three minutes???

Venting and hoping for resolution, opinions welcome!

How would the story have gone if the Governor led the Saviors instead of Negan?

As we all know before, the Governor was once a decent man, even a loving father and husband until the apocalypse changed him for the worse. He committed all kinds of vile shit, including SA'ing Maggie (something that even **Negan** was against). Although he **did** have a chance to reform his wrath, he still chose war and power over peace instead during season 4.

Meanwhile, though **some** people joined the Saviors just to try and get by in a sentiment whilst living in a post-apocalyptic world, there were **still** a lot of bad men in the faction too (like Davey).

So, with two forces of destruction combined, how would the world of the Walking Dead have gone about?

Lack of promotion and teasers for Daryl Dixon and Dead city

Is it me or has anyone noticed that TWD has been silent for a while now. Sure we’ve gotten some leaked pictures, but no major announcements or anything. I remember March being the time when they usually release teasers for the Daryl, but so far it’s nothing. Dead City is even worse off, since it seems like they wanna release each seasons with a two year difference, 2023-2025, 2025-2027. We had to wait nearly a year and 11 months just to get more of Maggie and Negan. It honestly feels like things have fallen flat since ones who live ended, because there’s no overarching universe plot and we have so many timeline or plot holes.

OMG the writing in season 11, episodes 15 to 18 is absolutely infuriating

Watching season 11 for the first time, and while it’s pretty poor for the most part, the writing in episodes 15, 16, 17 and 18 is appallingly bad.

I know that not everything has to be spelled out and disbelief is to be suspended, but nothing feels earnt. The show is now simply moving from plot point to plot point, nothing is an obstacle, there is no tension, drama or even logical explanations for things that happen.

- End of episode 15 Hornsby and his men stumble upon Leah. He tells her not to kill them, as they have a job for her in killing Maggie. Unless I missed something, Hornsby has no idea who this woman is and the beef she has with Maggie. But we are just supposed to accept the fact that he thinks asking some stranger to go and kill someone for him is a viable play here?

- Episode 16 starts off really well, great tension as Daryl and co enter the killing zone, but then it’s down hill

- Is that the cabin Leah used to live in? I guess it must be, as Daryl come's knocking. But how did he know Leah would take Maggie here?  How did Hornsby and his troops find it?

- Max’s and Connies' little conspiracy group. Max grabbed some papers from the cabinet, but we are given no idea what info is in it, but obviously connected to the list of 200 people Connie has that included April.

But what are the lies here they are writing a story on, that these people are missing?  How do they get the article passed the angry editor we saw earlier and why do they need Ezekiel’s team of paper boys? If they’d had got as far as printing the paper, you’d think the usual distribution would be no problem.

- Episode 17 starts off with Hornsby and his troopers stalking our team in some town. Yet at the end of the last episode, we see Hornsby taking control off Hilltop, Alexandria and Oceanside.  These places are hinted at being quite pretty far apart, so why is Hornsby and co so easily on the tale of our group? They would have had a few days to move away from Hilltop area, yet they tracked them down so easily?  Perhaps the town they are in is on the outskirts of the Commonwealth, but unless I missed something, this wasn’t stated.

- The news is out and the public is out for Sebastian’s blood. Why Sebastian exactly?  Either Connie wrote a story about 200 people missing, knowing that some died trying to get Sebastian cash, so blamed the other 200 missing people on him?  Seems a bit of a stretch.  Or the public just hate Sebastian so blamed him (he hints at this saying the public have no one else to blame). That just seems ridiculous

- Negan says to Carol Commonwealth doesn’t seem like a place they can just walk out of. Yet we have seen Carol slipping out herself. Doesn’t stretch the imagine to think the rest of the group could slip out under the cover of darkness the same way Carol did.

- The way Carol just instinctively knows that Sebastian must be hiding in the Governmental building. Oh look, a secret door.

 - Episode 18 starts with the stand off in the sewers, just as Carol, Negan, Pamela, and Mercer arrive.  How on earth did they know to look for anyone down there?

Does it carry on like this to the finale? Is there going to be aby actual stakes? Do people like this kind of writing in a show?

Blu Ray TWD Universe Order

Hi everyone, long time lurker here, finally decided to join. Been a fan since the very first airing of the first episode. I have every season of the show on Blu ray including all spinoffs and am now going through each one from the beginning of the apocalypse all the way to the current one out. Can anyone help me order my Blu rays in terms of the timeline? I know FTWD seasons 1-3 is first then TWD season 1 to at least a few episodes of season 9 but the time line is so confusing sometimes i don't know after that. Like, where should I put World Beyond, should I put the season 8 Blu ray of FTWD after TWD season 11, does the Daryl Dixon Blu rays go after or before Dead City? You know stuff like that. I've tried to piece this together online but it never made sense to me so I figured I just ask the experts. Now of course I could just put all of them at the time they were released but that's no fun, what do you all think? Thanks!

Like I’ve said in previous posts, I’m rewatching and this detail bugs me

Every time they are making their escape or get ambushed by a bunch of walkers, and one of them gets grabbed, gets swarmed and there is zero hope for them, their friends, whoever that might be, watch for a second then move on. Why does no one “ever” put a bullet in their head to ease their suffering? Like, it’s every single time. They will stand and watch for a second with forlorn looks then run. Even if it’s their enemy they should put them out of their misery.

I get why the show does it though: to prolong the horror and visual effects for the show but every time I’m saying to myself “holy fk, would someone please shoot them in the head”?

Beth should have become the groups Doctor

So today I saw a post about what Beths intended role was that reminded me of a big thought that occurred to me during my last rematch of the first handful of seasons of The Walking Dead.

I dont think it was her intended role, but Beth not becoming the groups doctor was a HUGE missed opportunity. Imagine if in season 2 after her attempted suicide she came out the other side not just wanting to live but wanting to *live*. Wanting to actually do something with her life. So, she approaches her father and asks Hershal to start teaching her medicine.

Come season 3, you could imply during the time skip Hershals been teaching her what he can here and there and when he gets bit in the leg it would be her having her own father's life in her hands. Maybe even have it be her idea to cut the leg off rather than Rick's if you really want to turn the drama to 11. Remember the scene where Carol is practicing C sections on Walkers while Hershal is down just in case? It didnt really amount to much cause Carol end role wasn't a doctor or nurse, but a frontline fighter but imagine if it was poor teenage Beth having to do that and it was just one more cumulative step on her route to being the groups doctor.

Come season 4 you could have had her training under Hershal, and that Doctor S guy during the timeskip and have her starting to get very competent at medicine. Her being on the front lines fighting the plague with her father and Doctor S would have been far more interesting than the stupid bullshit with her stupid dead boyfriend thay took up much of the first half of season 4. Imagine how much more interesting Grady hospital could have been with the interplay between one of the first of the new variety of doctor taught through apprenticeship and practical experience of the new world and the professionally trained relics of the old world still living there! Would add a whole new interesting dynamic and open way more opportunities for Beth to do interesting stuff while there.

Come Alexandris and Beth's medical experience could be yet another factor in Pete going psycho. In addition to Rick cucking him he would also be worried about the hot young new experienced doctor replacing him or at least stripping him of his irreplaceablility. There are so many ways just having Beth's story arc being that of the healer would have enhanced the story. In hindsight it kinda seems like a obvious route for her character.

Do you think the group over-relied on scavenging and wandering as opposed to using say, bushcraft techniques?

Sure you could say they were desperate and weren't in the mindset to think about those kinds of things, but how helpful would it have been to know how to build shelters and collect water and plant tomatoes and educate themselves in horticulture, agriculture and botany science?

I finally get it now (blah blah) did actually have a a pretty big reason

I finally get it now (blah blah) death did actually have a a pretty big reason

In episode 4 series 5, dawn says to Beth "some people just aren't meant for this life and thats ok as long as they're not taking advantage of the ones who are" Beth was one of my favourite characters so I hate to say it but she was utterly useless. Her only skill was singing. Like I said she was one of my favourites so I hated her death. "Youre nothing, youre dead or your someone's burden" was another thing to Dawn said to Beth and it was absolutely correct. I think Beth finally accepted this and just thought "at least ill take out a baddie in the mean time" she was dead weight, she always had been and I think the hospital really shown her that she was entirety useless in this world so went suicide by cop

I would love to know why the writers dropped the ball with Connie and Daryl?

Im just really trying to understand what happen because clearly Connie was suppose to be his love interest but it never went anywhere. Its like after Connie returned from being away, all the momentum Daryl and her had went out window. They had him getting with that Leah chick and then would tease Carol and him.

I hate to be that person but ableism is real. I do wonder if the actress being deaf played more of role into it because for them to truly have a successful pairing, Daryl would need to be able to communicate with her fully and maybe NR wasnt up for the challenge because he would have to really take some time to learn some ASL if they went fully canon. Im just speculating as I dont know what happen, but it just makes me wonder.
