I finally get it now (blah blah) death did actually have a a pretty big reason
In episode 4 series 5, dawn says to Beth "some people just aren't meant for this life and thats ok as long as they're not taking advantage of the ones who are" Beth was one of my favourite characters so I hate to say it but she was utterly useless. Her only skill was singing. Like I said she was one of my favourites so I hated her death. "Youre nothing, youre dead or your someone's burden" was another thing to Dawn said to Beth and it was absolutely correct. I think Beth finally accepted this and just thought "at least ill take out a baddie in the mean time" she was dead weight, she always had been and I think the hospital really shown her that she was entirety useless in this world so went suicide by cop
