Boo, boo this man.

Block mass transit links to Baltimore City and County
Close enough, Welcome back Robert Moses..

What exactly does he think that blocking mass transit links is going to accomplish? Make commuting and transit worse just assuage the conservative bigots in this county they’re gonna keep “the city” at bay?

abingdon costco

has anyone heard any reports of when the abingdon costco may be built? i live in abingdon and im super excited at the possibility, but all i've seen is speculation. the last article i saw about it was in late february saying it was delayed. if anyone has info id love to hear it! thanks :)

edit: i apologize for not considering the traffic situation! definitely something to take into account especially considering how bad it already is.

PLEASE use your turning signals, Harco Residents!!!!

I can NOT tell you how many people I got behind today who refused to use their turning signal. You slowing down & stopping isn't enough. You have to let the others know around you where you are going. There's no reason whatsoever drivers are not able to use a basic function in their car that has a sole purpose of signaling where you are turning.

Yall are not helping beat the 'Maryland Drivers suck' allegations. Yikes!!!

How Do I Connect With Other Young Adults in Harford County/Bel Air Over the Summer or in General to Make Friends and/or Potentially Date?

I'm a male college student in my early 20s who is about to finish up the spring 2026 semester. I'm planning on working, but I'm not going to be taking any summer courses. When I have free time over the summer, I get bored and I'd like to meet other people my age, but I don't know how. I struggle to find out how I can meet people in the area that are my age.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what I can try that's targeted towards young adult singles and how I can do those things? I've thought about doing coed sports as a potential thing to do. Does anyone have any experience or advice with that, or any other suggestions? Are there speed dating events? I also like to read. Are there any book clubs with people my age?

I'd like to date, or find ways to meet women my age, but I also want to make some friends in general, with guys and girls. Maybe there's some people my age reading this who are potentially interested in connecting.

Summer jobs for College Student

Before you say anything, I’ve already looked on Indeed, zipper recruiter, snag a job, glass door, and a general Google search. It seems to be bare-bones in the job market right now especially for college students returning for the summer. Does anyone know of any local businesses hiring college students for the summer? TIA

Best thrift shops and crab cakes?

My MIL is coming to visit next month and she absolutely loves to thrift. I was wondering where the best thrift shops are. We are willing to drive an hour outside of Harford County. I already plan on taking her to Prime and the 2 Tabitha's Houses, but I am currently looking for more to take her to. She loves vintage decor and clothing.

Also, she has never had a MD crab cake before so I want to go all out and get her the best one. A lot of my friends recommend Koco's Pub, which I know is delicious but if anyone has any other recommendations, I am all ears! Thanks!

I’m meeting local Maryland witches

Events in the past have been wonderful and I’ve met quite an amazing group of witches and I hope to meet more new folks in my area. A couple local witches expressed a need to I figured “be the change” and have another meet up!

Despite being in a red state, there’s a really solid presence for support. Last year, my first time at this park was for Pride Festival, there were no protestors. I was amazed at how safe I felt. Hoping for a merry meet this month 💜

What's happening in your garden today?

Still waiting for the soil to warm up to plant the tomatoes and peppers. Going to plant some of the native pollinators I picked up at Spring Fling in the wildflower garden. Thought I'd share some pictures of what's blooming. Enjoy your Tuesday everyone.

On my way home today (at around 4:30pm), I passed an accident on mountain road near the Harford road intersection, in which involved a black dodge mini van and a pickup truck. The back of the lady’s dodge minivan was completely smashed in with the whole rear window shattered, whilst the pick up truck had somewhat minimal damage done to the front of it. Clearly the woman had been rear ended by the truck (and 9 times out of 10, when someone rear ends someone else, it’s their fault so it’s likely that the truck driver was at fault here).

This honestly upsets me because I’ve noticed that lots of truck drivers in harco, as well as in the state of Maryland in general, absolutely love to drive like they own the road and will ride your ass to death even when you’re already doing 5-10 over the speed limit (not including when driving in the passing lane). I’ve almost been rear end by impatient pickup truck drivers multiple times here in harford county even though I was doing the typical 5-10 over the speed limit (again, excluding being in the passing lane) and so therefore, there’s absolutely no damn reason to be on my ass when I’m doing a reasonable speed. In fact, there’s never any reason to be on anyone’s tail when they’re doing a reasonable speed, especially when you drive a large truck and can do significant damage to their car. I drive a sedan and so it of course makes me very nervous having a pickup truck right on me.

So please, if ur a pickup driver, be mindful of other drivers on the road and keep a safe distance. It’s literally not that hard. If you rear end someone, you will likely do significant damage to their car and if they happen to have passengers in the backseat, you can severely injure or even kill them. With that being said, I really hope that woman that I had seen today did not have any kids in the back of her car as they would have likely sustained some pretty bad injuries considering how bad the back of her car looked from the accident. Prayers

Advice/tips on where to move to?

Hi everyone!

I just graduated college and accepted a job offer in Belcamp/Aberdeen and I was wondering if ya’ll had any advice on cities to move to. Having never been in Maryland before in my life, I have no idea what places are good and which are not as desirable. More context:

Age: 23-25
Type of housing: Apartment or townhouse
Rent: Max. $2000
Preferences: Grocery store convenience, library, gym, events to go to (movies, concerts, plays, etc), nightlife
Max. commute time I would do: 45 min

This is my first time looking for an apartment and first time leaving my home state, so any advice or suggestions would be much appreciated. Thanks!
