Hi, I have 10-12 years of experience and currently working for an investment bank in Mumbai as a tech VP. I am expecting a tech VP role in a front office team in BLR. What would be a good number to negotiate for base ?
Hey folks,
Looking for a referral at Goldman Sachs for SRE / DevOps roles.
I've got ~2 years of experience in an SRE/Cloud Support role, working with AWS, Grafana, Prometheus, and handling production incidents monitoring.
Would really appreciate any referrals or guidance. Can share my resume if needed.
Thanks!
Been interviewing for a role here at a VP level, can anyone confirm on what pay can they offer? I'm currently at ~48 lpa fixed in current organization, can I ask for around 65 fixed? What's the approx pay for home grown 13 yoe person? Willing to be at slightly lesser than that.
Hi all!
I completed the interview loop with GS for an associate software developer role. But checking online I realized that a VP role will be more suitable for me. Can someone confirm if the SDE 3 role is VP equivalent in GS or is it the Associate role that covers most of it. I have an experience of around 5.7yrs.
Thanks in advance!
Hey everyone, I have a few questions and would really appreciate honest answers from people who've actually been through this:
Is it actually necessary to be from a top-tier college to become an investment banker or get into a top firm?
If someone is from a Tier 3 college, what can they realistically do to still break into IB?
Has anyone here made it into a top firm without a target school background? What did you do differently?
Just looking for real experiences, not textbook answers. Thanks in advance!
Recently gave interview for PWM COO role for Bangalore location.
All the interview went well but the compensation discussion went for a toss
For an Associate they are paying way less.
Any suggestions on what can be the band ?
Does getting a compensation form after the final round indicate that an upcoming offer or negotiation call or can i get rejected even after that.
Anyone in AWM could tell me how long it usually takes for them to respond/ roll out an offer.
role- Strat AWM/AM Analyst
Hi guys so i just a month back joined walmart as sde 3 and got a call from goldman and cleared it for associate role in awm org ( a prominent team there with good bonus record in the past years)
The team here at walmart looks internal team to me and feels a bit off than what it was potraid on hm call
Should i consider switching ?? The hr and hm at goldman are ok with me coming there though i joined walmart
Please provide me info
My concern is
I see a lot of folks asking for referral here.
From what I have gathered, referrals don't really work at GS unless the hiring manager itself is referring you.
What usually works is that someone from GS HCM/HR team views your profile on Naukri and downloads your resume.
Once that resume is sent to hiring manager and he/she picks it up, that's where the interviews begin.
Anything except for the above barely works in my opinion. I have received 3-4 referrals till now and 1 of them was from a Executive Director but none of them worked.
2 times I got a call for an interview was usually because the GS HR/HCM viewed and downloaded my profile on Naukri 2-3 days back.
So all you can do is hope and pray that your Naukri profile/resume comes on HCM's radar and subsequently gets picked by the hiring manager.

Hi - I am an Ex-Goldman employee, left the firm in 2021 and now wanting to rejoin GS. I was in a back office role previously, now aiming to move to GBM, but I am not able to get any calls through Naukri. I am getting from MS/JP, but not GS. Anything I should do to ensure this visibility? Does anyone have some experience in joining back the firm? Please help me out here.
I’ve recently submitted my resignation at GS and have also received the system-generated last working date. Does anyone have any idea about the leave policy (personal leave or sick leave) during the notice period?
Are any types of leave permissible during this period without affecting my last working day?
As the heading suggests, the division is filled with micromanagement, sycophancy, bloated metrics being shown everywhere and even simple process are intentionally made over complicated for people to trip over. It’s so strange that at a company like GS which considers its work ethic to be the golden standard and build on everyday excellence is lost in this division. Would strongly advise against if anyone planning to join. In the name of relationship building they are just messing up careers, get a high from ego thumping and expect people to be grateful to them. Never thought I would say this but they follow all the principles of a lala company, what a disappointment joining this firm, all this PR and nonsense.
Please share your experience if anyone here has faced something similar
Hi how does base and year end bonus look like for VP in the portfolio management role ?

I am a tech analyst that was told recently that I'll be put on PIP tomorrow onwards. Is it worth grinding the PIP, or is this a new form of mass layoffs, and I should just start looking for a job elsewhere?
Please, my career has just begun, and I am very scared. I don't know what to expect, what to do. Any good advice will be really appreciated.
