Chillers (UK)

Hi there,

Hubbie has a Myochill chiller and it just does not cope with being on 24/7, we're already on our 2nd unit and it's still rubbish. It barely gets below 8° and the water flow is really poor.

Can anyone recommend a good chiller that we can get in the UK? Tried and tested long term if possible. We were looking at pond chillers but they don't seem to go low enough.

TIA

Which plunge is this? Buying a house potentially and it comes with it (minus the cooler)

Wanted to see the value of just the plunge minus the cooler. Thanks!

Just splurged. Bought a Nordic wave Viking xl to help shoulder arthritis

Please congratulate me, tell me I’m an idiot or share your experiences with your cold plunge (even better if you have a Viking xl) and wish me luck on trying to manage my shoulder arthritis pain.

Cold Plunge Rated for 39-104degrees Outdoor Proof

I am building a cold-plunge hot tub unit with full heating and cooling (39 to 104 degrees) capability. This unit consists of a 240v heating element and a 1 1/2hp chiller. It will be able to change temperatures relatively quickly, with a master controller that can be reprogrammed. The tub itself is a Grizzly 450L Cooler with a Balboa Heating element, and a EcoPlus Chiller.

Can't wait to show you guys more as I continue to build it. Feel free to ask questions! I also plan on showing electrical diagrams and Plumbing architecture as I continue developing. I live in a colder climate and do not want to pull the chiller inside every winter. Minimum maintenance as possible. This heating element not only heats the hot tub but also prevents freezing! Let me now what you guys think!

Anyone just thinking about plunging constantly throughout the day?

I'm new to plunging (only had my tub and chiller 2 weeks) but not new to cold water (live in Scotland and swim in the sea and lochs all year round) and I'm always thinking about when I can get in again! I've been doing it in the mornings after a workout (and a shower) and it really does set me up for the day! But lately I've been thinking about getting in again in the evening. Anyone else??

Has anyone here bought an inexpensive, inflatable, insulated barrel-style cold plunge ?

I am seeking advice and opinion on whether these budget options are actually worth it long term. I keep seeing similar designs across sites like Amazon, Alibaba, AliExpress, and eBay, and they all seem to come from the same manufacturers.

For those who have tried them, do they hold temperature well and last over time, or do they start leaking and losing insulation after a while?

Would you recommend starting with one of these, or going straight to a more solid or DIY setup?

Has anyone tried Titan cold plunge? Is it worth it for home use?

I haven’t used Titan cold plunge myself, but I’ve been hearing about it from someone close who uses it pretty regularly. From what I’ve seen, it seems like one of those things that’s tough at first but gets easier once it becomes part of your routine.

They usually keep it pretty cold and say it helps them feel more awake and reset, especially in the mornings. Also seems more convenient than doing ice baths every time since there’s no constant setup.

Curious if anyone here has firsthand experience does it actually hold up long-term, and is it worth it compared to simpler setups?

New plunge recommendations?

I currently have “the pod company” long pod tub with chiller. It works fine but I’m considering upgrades that would be easier to clean and made with a bit more quality. I’m not in the market to spend $10k on a cold plunge though so any suggestions for something middle of the road? Bonus if it can make the water cold OR warm!

Lost two chillers already. Send help.

I have used Active Aqua & Nuvio chillers outdoors in Georgia. Neither have lasted much more than a year before they burned out. Not sure the exact cause, but I know they are indoor chillers in a rough environment. I have seen some ideas about a "deck box." Any help greatly appreciated before I spend the money on chiller #3.

Indoor Home Spa / Bathroom

Has anybody incorporated a cold plunge into a wet area/shower space indoors? Looking into a bathroom remodel that would incorporate a vertical cold plunge and trying to think through the options.

Stay still or move around while in the ice bath?

Stay disciplined! 💪

Did you know that if you stay perfectly still in the ice, your body actually builds a tiny "warm" layer around your skin? It’s like a cheat code to make it feel less cold.

But the second you move, you break that layer and the REAL cold hits you. 🥶

What do you think of stay still or move around while in the ice bath?

Outdoor Sauna setups

Sorry if this is breaking the rules but do any of you plungers have an outdoor sauna setup? I tried sauna sub-reddits but they all feel like ads. I’d love to hear your recommendations if you have a dual setup.

Desert Plunge Wide Vs Exclusive

I’m buying a cold plunge (yay!) after months of bathtub cold plunging. I’m set on buying a desert plunge, but I cannot decide between the Wide and the Exclusive.

For reference I am 5’10 230lbs. I am not sure if I need the extra width. I did a mock measurement based on the specks and I would have about an inch of space on each side of my shoulders in the exclusive.

If you have either one of these models can you give me the pros and cons of your model. Or why you chose it over the other. If you could provide your height weight for reference that would be great as well.

Recommendation for a chiller

Hello all,

Have been going to contrast therapy for a few weeks now. I am getting a bit tired of paying the $100 / month fee for 4 sessions and would rather start investing in my own chiller. I have a spare bathroom with a tub in my house. Is there anyway to keep a chiller near the tub and the tub filled with water being chilled? Ideally I’d like to plunge 2-4 times / week. Any recommendations on a cost effective chiller that won’t break in 6 months would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks in advance!

Are ice bags even worth the hassle for cold plunge?

Reusable ice bags for my cold plunge, honestly, I’m starting to wonder if it’s the right way to do this. It feels like i spend 40 mins prepping for a 5 min soak. by the time i’m in, half the ice is already melted and the temp is never consistent. Would love to get some insight from the experts in this community.

Went for it

Picking an inflatable cold plunge under $2,500 is like buying a new mattress for your bed: so many options and hard to tell which is quality/legit or not.

Went with Orca because their customer service seemed to be top notch, they are US based, their heat plate design, and due to the size of this tub without getting an XL one. I fit very easily and have PLENTY of extra room and I’m 6’5” 220lb. Water is no where near the top once I’m fully submerged which is great because this is obviously inside. Super pleased so far though I’m not the most tech savvy and am a little confused by the app but it’s working.

Just set it up last Friday so only had 3 days to plunge so far. Starting at 52-54 degrees for 3 minutes. Not sure how people do temps in the 30s and 40s as 50s is cold enough but we’ll see how things develop as I continue.

LifeTrend Solitude Cold plunge from Costco HELP Electric bill!

Hello, I live in SWFL and got the Lifetrend Solitude cold plunge / hot tub for my lanai. I've had it less than 5 days and checked my kilowatt utilization and it was 113 kWh which on a normal day previously hovers around 49 even with using my infrared sauna for about an hour. I saw online that some people said you can control it via an app and wifi but this model has none of those options. Please help me to figure out how I can keep this plunge safe and economical (clean water). I'd like to plunge daily around 6am-7am at 50 degrees. I don't want it to sit stagnant all day and grow bacteria but also don't want to fight all day to stay at temp and there's no remote way to set up a scheduled. I'm about to send it back (which would be a totally different nightmare) but I can't have a triple electric bill. I'll just keep my cold plunge membership that would be way more affordable.

Thx for any and all help.
