How to get credit card statements for an account that was closed and sent to the collection agency?

Since the morning, I have been trying to get all my credit card statements for my account that was sent to a collection agency. I called Citi they said they don’t have them, the collection agency does. The collection agency which I paid 2 years ago say they only have the last 12 (which is what Citi Bank sent them). Are my credit card statements lost now ? Anyone knows how to get them?

CITI APPLICATION PH

Has anyone here experienced a long “Recruiting Review” status at Citibank?

I applied last April 18 and already completed the two questionnaires they sent, but until now I haven’t received any updates. My application status is still “Recruiting Review.”

I already have other job offers lined up, but I’m really interested in the role at Citi, so I was hoping to wait for their update before making a decision.

Just wanted to ask if this is normal and how long the process usually takes. Thanks!

new american citi card nonsense

I've been an American airlines platinum member for over 25 years. Citibank just recently took over these cards. HOWEVER, the transition is a disaster. The transfer "officially" happened last week. However, they are'nt mailing the cards for 6-8 weeks. And the website adn customer services assured everyone that until the physical card was received AND activated customers could continue to use their old numbers. Well guess what? They are lying. I use this card for ALL of my recurring payments (subscriptions, memberships, etc). In the last 3 days, 5 of my services have declined payment because lo and behold--the old card isn't still working. But crappy citibank won't be mailing the cards for 6-8 wks. I spent hour trying to get it straightened out but they jsut keep saying "the old card should still work". But it doesn't. So until i get a new card (possibly 2 months from now!) i will have a big headache. Not to mention all the miles i will be losing becasue i can't use the american airlines card.

Layoffs

To anyone who went thru Citi’s recent reorganization this year, how long did it take to receive your severance package after your termination date?

What is the deal with things showing as "posted" then they get "returned" and their "security"!!!!

This has been KILLING my account. Things keep showing "posted" and then get "returned for insufficient funds". How is this legal?! How is it even legal to show pending at this point when everything is electronic? Computers get weekends off too?

They say I have overdraft protection but somehow keep getting over drafted.

They say my account is secure yet I had to call about 30 times for facebook hacking my account for facebook ads in which I never once made. I called to block facebook and have them block me or whatever and nothing they kept charging. Hundreds of hundreds of dollars but they don't return all of them so essentially I'm paying someones facebook ads for free?!?!?!?

Recently I bought bus tickets online, took the buses, and days after the trip it shows "returned for insufficient funds". HOW?!?!?!?!

Scammed for $3,720 by a fake Booking.com listing. Citi is denying the claim and Booking.com isn't helping. Advice?

I am currently being passed back and forth between two massive companies, Citibank and Booking.com . Meanwhile, $3,720 of my money is sitting in the hands of a scammer.

The Scam:

I booked a property called "Jackson Luxury Townhome with Mountain Views" through Booking.com. In December, I was charged $3,720 by a merchant called "Golden Days." Shortly after, I got a "cancellation" notice, but the "property manager" (staywithus@goldenstatehotels.com) told me it was just a system glitch and my stay was still confirmed.

By February, that email address was dead, the merchant vanished, and no such rental exists. It was a 100% fraudulent listing.

The "Blame Game":

Booking.com: They told me that I must file a dispute with my credit card company. They basically washed their hands of the fact that they allowed a criminal to set up a fake storefront on their platform.

Citibank: I have filed two claims and both were denied. Citi refuses to take phone calls for this and seems to be using an automated system that sees "Booking.com" and "Authorized Charge" and just clicks 'deny.' I am now on my third attempt.

The Frustration:

How is it possible that a platform like Booking.com can host a $3,720 scam, and a bank like Citi can refuse to even speak to a customer of over 20 years years about a blatant "Services Not Received" claim? I have a full paper trail of the "glitch" excuses and the bounced emails.

I’m looking for advice on two fronts:

Pressure on Booking.com: Has anyone successfully held Booking.com accountable for a fraudulent listing? Should I be hitting them on Twitter/X or filing a separate consumer complaint against them?

Pressure on Citi: Since they won't talk to me on the phone, is the CFPB my only option left? I feel like I’m screaming into a void while $3,720 is just gone.

TL;DR: Booking.com hosted a fake $3,700 rental. The merchant vanished. Booking.com says "call the bank," and Citibank says "denied" without letting me speak to a human.

No way to see how a transaction is coded?

I received a promotional email offering four additional thank you points on up to 2,500 for online shopping for my double cash card. That sounds like 6X points to me. I purchased a $100 Costco shop card from costco.com and apparently it doesn't show anywhere online that the transaction was or wasn't coded as online shopping. I guess I just have to wait a month for the statement to come out?

I've called and chatted with three employees and all don't understand what I'm asking.

I might have to sue Citi… Has anyone had to go to this length before? I’m so frustrated.

Citi refused to permanently instate a credit that I disputed against a dentist for balance billing. It’s been a long, ugly fight and lots of feet dragging and waiting (allegedly.)

I’ve escalated to the ERU, CFPB, now the CCO. Next step will be court. I don’t want to take it there but will on principle.

I’m not able to discuss details beyond this. Oddly, every time I post something on this sub critical of Citi, a bank known for shoddy customer service, the comments from either higher up employees or bots defend Citi yet neglect to ask for clarification on my end— something I’m seeing with Citibank as an entity (in my experience.)

All this to ask, if you’ve had to take it this far, how did it go? I know my case is rock solid, and I will take it to small claims. I just want to give them the chance to do the right thing.

I’m looking to see if anyone has any advice or recommendations on my next steps I just entered into the "we're mailing you a code to verify your identity" nightmare for a new credit card I opened for a balance transfer. The balance already transferred and for some reason the credit card they mailed me got sent back to them, and calling gets me absolutely nowhere. They will not accept any security question or information at all claiming "I could be just anyone with that information" and they are treating me like I'm fraudulent. The card is maxed out with the balance transfer, there's nothing to scam and I can’t access anything by phone or online, I have no way to pay on the card because I never got the card to set up the online account which asks for the card information. I feel like I'm stuck going in circles, every time I call it's a call center somewhere internationally. They claimed they tried to text me a code but nothing ever came through and now they’re trying to mail me a letter and there's a good chance it's going to get returned back just like my card was (even though I confirmed my address on the phone with them, they won’t tell me if they’re using the mailing address or physical address, I put both when applying for the card but I don’t receive mail at my physical address only my mailing address). They emailed me something but I can't access it because I can't log in without verifying the card. That I don't have. I’m at a loss on where to go from here, I still have a few days left to hopefully receive a letter that will hopefully then allow them to send me a new card. I’m mainly nervous that this is all going to take so long that I will miss the first payment and I have perfect on time payments on my credit history and don’t want to lose that over this.

Status Business Review and no response even after follow up

Hi,

I had my first interview in February with the hiring manager, second interview in March with another manager ( reporting line of the hiring manager) . The position is a VP

Still have not received any feedback and I even followed in May 2026..Is been almost 3 months and the application is still in business review. Of course I am applying to other jobs and actually a job offer is possibly landing in 1 week. Do you think that citibank can come back after 3 months to still consider me for a job offer?

Citi vs CFPB

Every single time I have to chase Citi down, they make me go through the CFPB for a response to keep running me in circles. I hate this shit bank so much. Absolutely useless scumbags.

I've already seen a few posts that claimed Citi Travel Portal hotels were more expensive.

But the deception runs deeper.

Not only is the "base rate" (i.e. not including taxes) more expensive, but the base rate doesn't include the "Pay at check-in" amount that's added in during checkout.

BUT THE DECEPTION RUNS DEEPER!

Their Citi Strata Premier card has a promotion that takes $100 off of $500, but the promotion only triggers if BASE COST (without taxes or pay at check-in) is $500+. A "$247/night" hotel doesn't trigger the promotion, but taxes and "pay at check-in" brings total above $600. Essentially, this means I have to spend $610+ to get $100 off, WHICH because of the above deceptive practices, ends up being marginally cheaper, if at all, than just booking normally elsewhere.

I ran the experiment using Citi Portal, Chase Portal, and Booking.com
Hotel: Catalonia Gran Via BCN
Guests: 2 adults, 1 child
Dates: Aug 1-3
Room Type: Standard Triple
TOTAL PRICE -
Chase Portal: "$238/night", taxes included, $43.43 fees due at property, TOTAL = $519.21;
Booking.com: "$217/night", taxes not included, $84 in taxes, TOTAL = $521 due at property;
Citi Portal: "$247/night". taxes not included. Taxes $49.39; Pay at checkin $59.10, TOTAL = $602.38;

Got the Costco card. Less than a week, already tagged for fraud and can’t use the card. My purchases? Costco items. Costco gas. And a book at a book off store. The app says call their number so I did. Now I need to verify. Security password answer? Said it, but wait, the AI bot can recognize it? Say it again. Wait a moment before transferred to a live agent. Live agent asks it again and can confirm it now. Cool. Live agent does the second step of verifying. But wait, we need to verify you by calling your number and send a text. Okay, great let’s text the number I am using right now. Simple, right? No. Apparently their system prevents it (which makes total sense because it’s not their like own 2FA system gives you the option to send a verification code…through your phone). I’m asked to provide a second number, but guess what? The number I give can’t be verified because it’s not on my account. Okay, how do I add a second number? Here’s the best part, you can’t! So how can I verify? Do I have any other Citi product? Nope. Then unfortunately sir, you’re screwed. We’re going to halt your card activity and send you a mail in 10 business days. You must call us back with a reference code so we can continue this call. WAIT WHAT? So I’m calling you again. With the same number that you don’t trust to send me a text. Where if there’s an instance of fraud you think of I give you the reference code, then we’re clear? Why don’t you just ask me to verify any of my other information like address, birthday, social security, or even my other security questions?

I recently opened a 2nd Citi card. I've had the first card (Citi Double Cash Card) for YEARS with a 20k limit. I opened a second card (Citi AAdvantage) a few months ago and got a paltry $1,500 limit (strike 1). I have been using it frequently, but it also takes wayyy too long to replenish the available credit after I've made a payment (strike 2).

Has anyone else had this issue? Is there anything I can do? Anyone know WHY I can't increase my credit limit or HOW I can make the credit replenish faster? I don't have the same issues on my other card.

It is extremely frustrating, not to mention difficult, to reach the required $3,500 spend to get the bonus miles with both of these things working against me.

"Our system is experiencing temporary delays. Please try again later."

I recently applied for a Double Cash Card and got approved. However, while trying to finalize the application and create the online account, the page became stuck loading and never completed. I eventually had to refresh the page. Since then, I have been unable to log in through either the website or the mobile app. I continuously receive the message: “Our system is experiencing temporary delays. Please try again later.”

A hard inquiry was immediately reported on my credit report. Should I file a dispute regarding the inquiry?

I have already tried clearing cache and cookies, using a different device, and connecting through a different network, but the issue still persists.

I remember there was discussion on this before and it was advised to cancel the Aviator before the transition, but I forgot to cancel my Barclays Aviator before April 24 when it transitioned to a Citi AA Platinum Select. Will I be eligible for a Citi SUB if I apply for a Citi AA Platinum Select now?
