3M baby won’t take to carrier / baby wearing

So I’ve tried the basic Momcozy carrier and the ones that look like they’re for hiking, but they’re not. I have not tried a wrap, and I don’t really want to get a wrap because he’s going to outgrow it pretty soon anyway. But every time I put him in the carrier, he gets fidgety and upset, and typically starts crying. Any tips for helping him take to the carrier more? Is he too young? Any carriers you recommend for boys specifically (not sure if they’re junk gets squished at this age)? Any carriers for younger babies?

He’s the appropriate height and weight for his age and the carriers say it’s from 7lbs and up and he is 15lbs. I’ve been putting him in myself and I’m pretty sure his legs and arms and everything else is in the right position. But I’ll try to have someone help me next time, even though that’s not always gonna be available.

Babywearing vs Unrattled Winglet - plane

Has anyone used this on a plane? Or anywhere? They show that it can be used at events too.

How does it compare to babywearing? Especially if you can world-face in a baby carrier while you are sitting?

Would that be a better situation in which baby can world face longer, but also be contained, so you can be hands free?

Baby backpack carrier that doubles as regular backpack that also fits as a carry-on

Not sure if this is the right sub but is anyone aware of an infant backpack carrier that can effectively be used as a regular backpack for clothes and stuff when not carrying the baby? Also, that can fit in the plane's overhead bin?

We are traveling and when we are moving from point a to point b and the baby is in the stroller, we'd like to use the back pack for all our stuff and when we get to a destination, we can take out the stuff and use the back pack to carry the baby. Is there something like that out there?

Thanks!

Petite plus size suggestions? I'm desperate

I’ve tried so many carriers in the past couple weeks. My plus-size, petite, hourglass body has made it difficult. 3+mo baby is<10% height & slightly above avg weight. It doesn’t help that both baby and I run hot.

I've tried so many carriers. Most of them had too wide of a waistband, some didn’t sit well on my narrow shoulders, & some are too wide of a panel for a short-legged baby atm. All of them have felt hot. When I overheat, baby on me does too. (Ring sling didn't come naturally to me - might try again later. Have tried: Wildbird Aerial, Tula Explore & Lite, Lillebaby Airflow, Happy OG & Haven, Beco 8 & Gemini Cool, & Momcozy.) Ergo didn't look cool to me, & think the H&P Lark would be too wide for her atm.

The Mabe Monarch feels the coolest, but I know it's not ideal, encouraged, or built to last super long. I’m planning on getting maybe a HB or LennyLamb Onbuhimo when baby gets bigger, so don’t plan on using this Mabe for back carry.
I might use the Mabe idk - I'm also thinking of trying out LennyLamb, Oscha, & Integrawhat brands do you think might accommodate best for the above issues?

Ergonomic forward facing carrier recommendations

My 8mo LOVES to be forward facing in his carrier on our daily walks. Recently I’ve realised his legs hang straight down rather than the ‘M’ shape that I’ve now learnt is the best for their hips. I’ve done a bit of research but there is sooo many types out there and I don’t know what is best. I love the look of the ergo Omni and keep hearing that it’s a great one but it is on the expensive side. I don’t particularly mind saving up as we would use it a lot and I do want what’s best for his hips. However, I thought I’d just ask if anyone has any recommendations for slightly cheaper/ budget carriers that are great for forward facing? Preferably that we can use for when he is a toddler also.

At the moment we are just using one I saw on Amazon and bought, not knowing much about baby carriers when he was about a month old. I’ve included a picture of him in it so you can see what I mean.

Any help is greatly appreciated!

another potential fatal fit from an influencer

this is very dangerous as baby is literally being suffocated with no fresh air, and is at major risk of positional asphyxiation. not to mention, baby’s legs aren’t out (although not dangerous, not best positioning for baby’s hips). she said she wanted no DMs about the fit bc baby is close enough to kiss and that’s what matters. baby is less than 10 days old…

Fit check: ergobaby Omni with 5 month old.

Baby is 15 or 16 lbs and at least 26”. The panel is right at his chin so he chews on it. Is that bad and can I adjust it? or do I just have to turn him around until he gets bigger? Can he face forward in a different carrier? Thank you!

Ring Sling vs Woven Wrap

Hello,

I’m looking for a woven wrap to replace my Solly Wrap now that my LO is getting bigger. I don’t have the money to spend on a brand new one right now, so I’ve been looking on Facebook without much luck. But then I saw this Sakura Bloom today- it’s a ring sling rather than a wrap. Can you use these both ways or only as a ring sling? I have been interested in trying a ring sling out but I’m nervous of spending $100 and then not liking it as compared to a regular wrap! And from my understanding, typical wraps are more versatile. I know this is a good deal though so I’m torn… I know moving on from a stretchy wrap will be a learning curve regardless though. This is baby #2, and I never moved on from Solly Wrap with her- my fiancé ended up wearing her in a structured carrier when she got bigger.

Thanks!

All naps in carrier — how to start crib naps?

Looking for advice and ideas. My 3.5 month old currently only naps during the day in a carrier. It’s worked so far, but as he’s getting bigger it’s becoming physically unsustainable for me.

I’ve tried a few things already without much success:

* Letting him fall asleep in the carrier and then transferring him to the crib. I'm trying this especially for his first nap of the day

* Breastfeeding him to sleep in my arms while rocking in a dark room with white noise/shusher, then putting him down

* Using a Rockit on the pram and trying to transition him there after falling asleep in the carrier

Right now he’s taking about 4–5 naps a day, so it’s pretty exhausting. His naps can last anywhere from around 40 minutes to 1.5 hours, with the occasional longer 2–3 hour nap.

I’m not expecting all naps to suddenly happen in the crib, but I’d really like to get at least 1–2 naps there if possible.

If anyone has been in a similar situation and found something that helped (that is not sleep training), I’d really appreciate hearing what worked for you.

Best carrier/wrap options for hot and humid summers?

Hey everyone! FTM here, scheduled for an induction at 37w coming up. Baby will likely be around 6.5-7.5 lbs (based on growth trends, but who knows!) and I'm wondering if anyone has some favorite wraps or carriers that might suite my needs best?

I would be looking for something suitable for a smaller newborn at least to start, room to grow is great but not a deal-breaker if there is something better out there for a bigger baby later on. My biggest concern (maybe it isn't actually a huge deal, but I'm not sure) is that baby will be here in peak hot weather season. I am in the southeast USA, May-August are easily 80-100 degrees daily with lots of humidity. I would think something with a thinner, more breathable material would be a good idea? I just don't know where to start since there are so many brands to investigate! I also see a lot of pictures on brand websites of obviously bigger babies in the carriers but don't know exactly what a newborn baby, or a baby just a couple of months old, should look or feel like in a wrap.

Fit check! Woven wrap

Hi everyone, how does this look please? Baby is 5 weeks. No matter what I do, there is some slack around her neck as she pushes her arms against me when I am putting her in. I tried to put rolled up muslin cloth behind her neck (not pictured) and it helped. But in the long run, I want to be able to make it more tight and secure.

I am trying to learn this technique so that I can be prepared when she outgrows her embrace. That thing is amazingly comfortable for me, but I want to be able to wrap her as fast as I can put her in that carrier when we are on the go.

Thanks!

Will this thin wrap be a little bit comfortable, if not toddler-worthy?

This wrap from Lennylamb is currently on preorder and I am planning to get either a wrap or a ring sling. However, it is 210-220gsm 100% cotton and double weave jacquard. I have a baby who just turned 1 year old and plan to still wrap him. Will it be uncomfortable because of how thin it is? My only thin wrap is an Oscha with 236gsm that is 48% bourette silk and I find it super slippery.

thank you for any advice!

Help me pick a Onbuhimo

Baby is not quite old enough yet but I really want to get a onbuhimo for when she is! They can be expensive so I don’t want to get something I’m not going to love.

Suggestions please!

First time with Ergo Baby Aura Wrap

Noticed she is kinda slumping her head to the side - not sure if it is tight/supported enough? She’s 22 days old

"Best" tall toddler/preschooler carrier?

Hi! We've been baby wearing our kid (16 months, very tall and slim) lots his whole life, currently using a Tula FTG and ring sling mostly. We're not really using a stroller at all, and he's walking well independently! I bought a basic black Tula, and want to treat myself to a pretty carrier in the next size up. There's no immediate rush on this, I know he'll fit in the Tula for a while yet! But, if I can get one which will overlap, that would be nice. Main uses for the carrier will be national/international travel (airports, unfamiliar cities etc) and hiking in nature (temperature varies lots where we are). We'll also take it on Big Days Out for when his little legs get tired!

We're based in the US, but from the UK so could get one available here or there quite easily. It'll be used by both myself and my partner, so adjustability is definitely a pro! I've been looking at the Tula toddler carrier (I like that you can get linen) and Oscha Cairis toddler carrier (ummm hello glorious LoTR prints!) - does anyone have any recommendations or experience with either of these? Or any other brands/models they'd recommend? Thanks!

Fit check - Ergobaby Adapt

Girlfriend is not a fan currently - I’d love feedback on the fit! She’s wearing a sweatsuit that snaps at the bottom and I wonder if that’s a factor.

Fit Check: Stokke Limas Flex with a 2 month old (~10 lbs)

I watched the brand tutorial about 10 times and think I finally have it figured out! Please let me know of any changes I should make! I had been using the Baby Bjorn Mini before this and just learned about its problematic hip positioning, so I’m still adjusting to this one. Thank you!!
