Newbie receiving meds tomorrow
Hi all! I want to lose about 50lbs and have been working with a nutritionist since January. Down about 10 just by tracking food and moving more. I had been on the fence about glp1s but finally bit the bullet and got a prescription. My meds arrive tomorrow (Wednesday) and I have an event Thursday. Should I expect side effects by then? Wondering if I should delay. Starting at 0.2mg compounded semi.
Thanks in advance!
Dont see any effects
This is my third week on a compound. Took 3 doses. I am not feeling any difference whatsoever. Same hunger as before
Do i have to be on a higher dose or go for branded meds to see some changes?
My insurance not covering branded
I take it on my stomach. I do have a lot of fat around the belly area. Does that affect anyway? Will it help if i took it another place?
TIA for any comments
Switching to name brand Zepbound.
So I had great success on Wegovy list 45 pounds then had to stop from having multiple surgeries. When I was able to start back insurance no longer covered so I went compound and zero weight loss. So I then switched to Tirzepatide and still zero weight loss!! I have been on compound 7-8 months and it just doesn’t work for me. I am considering going lily direct so I can get name brand Zepbound. I am thinking maybe my body just responds better to name brand since I did well lost weight on Wegovy and zero weightloss on compound this stuff is too expensive to have no results!! Anyone else have this experience and then go back to name brand then start to lose again? My doctor obviously prefers name brand and says she thinks I will have better results. But who knows..
Wearing off…can I take it later in the day (oral)
Hi! Started the melt under the tongue pills just had my first dose increase, and it is working-the food noise is gone, feeling fuller. However, I still struggle after work, about 4 pm. In currently take it when i first wake up, at 6 am.
Can I take it later! My worry is hay you are supposed to not drink or eat before you take it. So if I wait until 9:00 let’s say, that means no water or anything until then, correct?
Does anyone have experience with this?

Hello all, I was previously on semaglutide for 2 months and decided to switch to tirzepatide because I was kind of misinformed and thought it would be “better” for me. I bought a 3 month supply so I’m kinda stuck with it for now. However, since I started taking it, I’ve noticed my food noise and appetite are stronger on tirz than they were on sema. I’ve been on tirz about a month now. Weight loss has been successful on both medications and I’ve been having minimal side effects but I realized I preferred the way my brain was on sema, if that makes sense…additionally it’s obviously more cost effective. Am I messing up my metabolism if I choose to switch back to sema? Especially since I’m stuck with Tirz at the moment….i don’t know what I should do…
FDA Moves to Permanently Close the Door on Compounded GLP-1s
The FDA has announced that it is proposing to formally exclude semaglutide (Ozempic, Wegovy; Novo Nordisk), tirzepatide (Mounjaro, Zepbound; Eli Lilly and Company), and liraglutide (Victoza, Saxenda; Novo Nordisk) from the 503B outsourcing facility bulk drug substances (bulks) list—the regulatory mechanism that governs which active pharmaceutical ingredients large-scale compounding operations may use. If finalized, the rule would prohibit 503B outsourcing facilities from compounding these agents from bulk substances under any circumstances, regardless of future market conditions.^(1)
Slow responder advice
I started compound sema on march 3rd. I’ve lost about 6 lbs. I started on 12.5 units and now I’m at 25 units. I’m 4’11” and currently am fluctuating between 135-136 lbs. I’m eating around 1200 calories a day and even that is a struggle sometimes. I’m just frustrated because I thought I would have lost more by now. I’m hesitant to go up to the next dose because of side effects (I basically have no appetite on this current dose so I can’t imagine how I would feel moving up another dose). Any advice? Encouragement? I’ve been trying to lose this damn 30 lbs for 10 years now and nothing is working.
My honest experience thus far
I took sema years ago and lost weight. I stopped because I couldn't afford it anymore after I took a break from work when I lost my brother. Now two years later I am hearing great things about tirzepatide and I decided to start back on a GLP-1 and chose tirz. I started tirz in October of 2025, so I have been taking it for about 7 months.
With diet and exercise I have lost a total of 11 pounds. Sure, there's probably some factors involved in that low weight loss but the whole time I'm remembering losing 20 pounds on the sema for the 2 months I took it 2 years ago.
So here's the interesting part. My provider sent me my GLP-1 refill 2 months ago. I was taking it and some weeks later I realized my vials said semaglutide and not tirzepatide. I lost 5 pounds in those two weeks. I called my provider, they apologized and made the order right, they overnights me tirz vials and my weight loss is now back to a halt. So, guess what I'm gonna do...I'm going right back to semaglutide. For me, it has given me the best results. I know it isn't the preferred med for everyone, and also know some have described really bad side effects. But I wanted to share my honest experience thus far and frankly speaking I am glad the provider made the error.

Mom of 2 lost Wegovy on insurance update last month. Been on 1.7 for 9 months. Cash pay isn't happening. Compound is the move. Don't want to lose my dose, don't want to overpay, don't want to deal with auto renew bullshit. Spent the last week comparing 3 options. This is messy because I'm tired. Mochi is program structure $230 a month. Don't need coaching for the bridge. Pass. Join Pomegranate has visible pharmacy menu at checkout. Revive B6 sema starter 3 month around $315. Seems clean. Consult was responsive. Joinezra has visible pharmacy menu also. Revive B6 sema starter 3 month $315. Same price range as Pomegranate. Consult flow asked specifically about my last Wegovy dose during intake which I appreciated.
Anyone bridged from Wegovy specifically and have a strong opinion. And also my middle kid has a science fair next week and my soul is tired.
I’m 2 months into taking compound semaglutide. I’ve lost about 8 lbs and overall haven’t really had many side effects. I’ve been taking 25 units for the last month and for the last 2 weeks I’ve been having on and off diarrhea. I also had some sort of stomach bug that developed around that time and I think my gut is just still off from that. I’m thinking I need to add a probiotic supplement but I’m not sure which one. What do you all take and eat to keep your bowel movements normal?
I recently got prescribed GLP-1 for weight loss, but my insurance ended up denying it, so now I’m trying to figure out what people actually do when they have to pay out of pocket.
I went into this thinking it would be pretty straightforward, but after reading through posts here it feels like there isn’t really one clear path once insurance isn’t an option.
I’ve seen people mention different routes, and I did come across names like TB2, formblends, and PlushCare while looking into it, but I don’t really have a clear sense of what actually matters once you’ve been on it for a while.
Mostly just trying to understand how people made this decision in the beginning and whether it ended up being sustainable long term, especially with cost and consistency.
If you’ve been in a similar situation, what did you end up doing and how did it work out for you?

amazon.comhey all, just looking for some guidance. I started with Orderly in january, and they sent me three 1.5ml vials. By the time i got through the taper doses and on 1mg for a while, i had only gone through 1 vial and still had three. i contacted customer service and they advised me of the BUD. Because of the cost of the meds i have held on to my other vials, and one has not even been opened.
so here is my question. I have held each vial up to the light and can see white “specs” in it. is this normal for a compounded med? typically this is a sign of compromise but i have ALWAYS been able to see the particles in it, since opening the vials and assessing them for damage during shipping etc. I really don’t want to throw all these meds out, but i also don’t want to take them if they aren’t even working due to the separation? Has anyone gone through this?
Increasing from starter 0.25mg to .5mg or wait?
So I'm due to take my 5th compounded semaglutide shot this upcoming Wednesday and am supposed to be increasing from 0.25mg to 0.5mg, but I'm down 13 lbs, don't have any food noise, and am still dealing with nausea and food aversion on the current dose.
For those of you that have gone through this, what do you recommend? What worked for you? Do I go slow and steady and stay here until I plateau or do I bite the bullet and go ahead and up the dose?
And before anyone tells me to check with my provider, I've already messaged them on the portal and waiting for a response. Just wanted to hear from others who have been there!
most compounded semaglutide reviews I found before starting were either just before and after posts or focused only on whether the weight loss happened. i wanted to write something more complete covering the parts that actually matter when you're deciding whether to start and which provider to use. I have been using it for six months, got on joinezra, Revive pharmacy with B6 additive.
Intake and setup was not difficult at all. I filled out a health form, the physician reviewed it, and it was approved within about 24 hours. Medication arrived cold about five days later. The pharmacy and additive were visible on the pricing page before i paid which mattered to me because I'd already done enough reading to know I wanted a B6 formulation.
Some side effects I experienced were nausea in weeks one through three which peaked around week two, but decreased by week four. I also felt fatigue in the first week that I hadn't expected but nothing that made me want to stop. After some time there needs to be a dose adjustment process: and some reviews just ignore this. When I needed to move up I messaged through their physician platform, described where I was and how I was tolerating the current dose and their response came back within about 24 hours with an adjusted prescription and the pricing stood the same which was nice.
My results showed my weight going down meaningfully, A1c improved, appetite genuinely different, less food noise. Of course this is my experience and each body is different but wanted to share in case someone needs it:)
I am switching over to sema after trying tirz for 10 months with little to no result. I am going through Big Easy and got my first package through Hallandale. I paid for a 12-week package and received two 4mL vials in the mail. The labels on these vials both say Months 1 & 2 on them. My question is, does Hallandale usually send all vials at once? I feel like there should have been a third vial considering it's a 3 month prescription, am I wrong? Would they send the 3rd separately so it doesn't go bad in the meantime since the exp date on the 2 vials is July? I reached out to BEWL for guidance. Hallandale said they dispense per provider instructions, so they were no help in answering my question.
For more information, I was prescribed a starting dose of 2mg, so the packaging on the boxes says 4mL, 2.5mg/mL, and "Months 1 & 2, inject 2mg weekly." Am I maybe doing the math incorrectly or just not understanding the way they package it?
I am coming from Lilly Direct, so this is my first experience with compounding and bulk orders. Please be nice!
EDIT to correct dosing typing error.
Curious about real experiences from people here who are on semaglutide (Ozempic/Wegovy) and strength training.
I keep seeing posts where people are eating ~800–1,000 calories/day, and I’m honestly struggling to understand how that works if you’re lifting in any serious way.
For those of you doing both:
- What does your actual daily intake look like?
- Are you able to maintain intensity (progressive overload, heavier lifts), or is it more maintenance mode?
- How are you timing food around workouts, if at all?
- Do you feel fatigued/dizzy/flat during or after lifting?
Especially interested in:
- People lifting 2–4x/week (not just walking/cardio)
- Whether you’ve maintained or lost muscle
- Anything that’s helped with energy (hydration, protein targets, electrolytes, etc.)
Not looking for medical advice—just trying to get a realistic sense of how this plays out.
Thanks!
Not seeing anything super recent. Have reached my goal weight with remedy meds but they don’t do maintenance and the price is pretty high. Anybody successful swapping just for maintenance? Who do you use?
My doctor is closed and the compound pharmacy doesn’t open for a couple hours. I think I just got the wrong dosage. I was supposed to go from a 1 to 1.5. I know compounding measurements can be different but did they double dose me? I’ve already injected for the week
