Advice on Marriage Status

I'll be enlisting in Army, 68w, Active Duty, sometime come May(actively in contact with recruiter). Partner & I have been together for 6 years, 2 kids. We're planning to get married before. So I'm asking, what's the best route here? Is there any real reason to hold off till after basic, vs getting it done with and coming in with the additional benefits?

22-Week Engineer OSUT?

It has come to my attention that the U.S. Army originally had plans to extend OSUT for Engineers to 22 Weeks similar to the Infantry, but it turned out that they didn’t get the chance to implement it. When it eventually does get extended, what should AIT cover more with the additional 8 weeks?

Advice on Marriage Status

I'll be enlisting in May, would be sooner, but we are planning to get married before. We've been together for 6 years and have 2 kids. Just as a general question, what's the best route to go here? Marry before, after basic, let me know.

Edit: Army, Active Duty, trying to get in 68w.

Can I join with extensive out/inpatient stays and a MDD/Anxiety diagnosis from when I was a child?

I want to preface this by saying I’m 16 and do not intend on going straight after highschool, I do however want to join around 20-22.

Anyways, from ages 12-14 I was in many different treatment programs. I read in multiple places that if you have had to be in outpatient or inpatient programs all together for over 12 months then you cannot join. Between outpatient, inpatient and residential stays from the ages listed above, it’s very likely to be over 12 months as I went to at least 5 outpatient group therapies that were each 1-3 months long.

I was diagnosed with MDD and general Anxiety (idk the official name for it) at 13 but I’m almost 17 now and haven‘t been “bad“ for almost 2 and a half years now.

With all of this being said, will this prevent me from serving in the Navy or really any branch? Obviously I know that there’s still time for things to change (I sure hope they don’t) but with what I have so far, should I give up on the idea?

Any advice at all is very appreciated, thanks!

Few questions regarding enlistment

To preface I’m 33 and relatively fit so I don’t foresee any issues at the moment. I’m still debating between the Army and Air Force so I still got more to think about. Just the thing is I’m married and my wife is cool with me going in so no issues there. But I’m mostly just not sure how quick she’d be able to join me after basic or even how soon housing will be allowed after that.

About how long will that usually take?

Turning 33 this year and lost in life. Would joining be beneficial?

I’m new to Reddit so sorry if it’s been asked a hundred times. I’m turning 33 this year, pretty much lost in life. I’m in shape and not dumb but not smart either.

I’m a huge stoner trying to quit. I know what the army can provide but is it generally hard at my age to get in this late? If anyone here has joined at a later age. Do you regret it? Are you still active duty? What was your biggest hurdles during the whole process?

I really wanna change my life for the better but honestly scared to commit and start the process.

Is there a maximum amount of times you can try a medical waiver after being disapproved?

[Guard] Waiver chances for 2021 situational depression/SI? 5 years stable.

I’m 22 and trying to join the Guard. I already did my physical at MEPS and told the doctor everything. Even though Genesis was clean and didn't show any of it, I chose to be honest about a situation from 2021 when I was 17. I was assaulted back then and ended up at a crisis center/ER for suicidal ideation because of the trauma. They put me on Sertraline and Fluoxetine, but I only took them for about 2 months before I was cleared and stopped. It’s been 5 years now with zero meds, zero episodes, and no issues handling stress, but the MEPS doctor told me I still need to submit a statement and get a waiver.

Right now I’m just stuck waiting on MEPS to schedule whatever is next and it’s annoying as hell. I’m wondering how long this specific type of waiver usually takes to get a response on, and if the 5-year gap makes it an easy "yes" since it was situational and I haven't touched meds since I was a minor.

About Joining the RASP and OTC

I have a question for you. I’m 30 years old and a university graduate. I’m considering joining the military and attending RASP training. Is there an age limit for OTC? I would be very grateful if anyone who knows could help.If there will be those who are worried about physical condition, I was a wrestler in elementary, high school, and university, and I can still easily run 20 km marathons.

I want to join, but I’m scared to leave my girlfriend behind.

For some context. I was going to graduate high school last year with no intention of going to college and just wanting to model. I only ever dreamed of streaming, modeling, and acting. Nothing realistic. Ever. One day before I did graduate something clicked in me saying modeling will never work and I quickly applied to a college out of city, but in state. I did this on a whim with no plan, no way of paying besides some scholarships I got. Which covered my tuition, but not my dorming. I attended for a couple months then just simply gave up and now I’m in debt. I was planning on going back to my home town and just enlisting, but before I did, I met the most beautiful woman I’ve ever laid my eyes on. Long story short we talked for 3 months and have currently been dating for one month. I stayed in the city for her and now living with a close family member just working. I’m still not sure what I want to do “career” wise. I’ve considered fashion school, which is expensive especially since every fashion school is out of state for me. (And what jobs/career could I even get with this that makes almost 6 figures??) And trade school just doing the blue collar route, which doesn’t sound too bad, but I can also do this in the military and get way more benefits.

Now here’s where my issue lies. I’ve talked to her multiple times about it and she says she would want to stay together and try to work things out if we have to do long distance. I want to believe her, but I just don’t know how things will actually go once we’re actually in that position. I’ve never felt so passionate about someone before. I’m so scared. (I was literally talking to another girl before her and ended it because I was going to enlist) She says the same. That she has never felt so passionate with someone and wants me to be her husband. No, we are not each others firsts, if that matters. [Not super important, but just wanted to lay this out here to maybe show how much she actually likes me. She’s payed for everything for the first 3 months, she drove me around for the same amount of time, coming from someone whose family has money. Not saying all,but most woman would not put up with this for the beginning of a relationship. I’ve been to multiple family functions with her too. And YES I’ve been paying for more things and showering her with gifts since I’ve started working, I don’t think I could ever pay her back. ] All that being said we are in a happy relationship, I’ve never doubted once how I felt about her like I have with my past partners.

I’ve talked to my friends about it too and they say to do what’s best for me and if it works out then it works out. I think I might hate the whole process, having FOMO and everything (yes i know this is childish of me), but I’m thinking about my future and the benefits. I don’t want to be a failure. I want my kids to have more opportunities and be able to go to college without going in debt like I am after just one semester of college. This situation is really doing a toll on my mental. I’ve been putting actual thought into this decision before I actually do it because I don’t want to make the same mistake I did for college, but again, the main thing I’m scared of currently is losing my relationship because most of all I want to be a good partner for her, someone she can rely on in the future when she needs it. I know I’m young, but things start now and I want to build a career. At the end of the day I’m not sure what to do and just need more outside perspectives, or advice.

Anything helps, I just want to hear more voices.

How does the military prevent guys from using whizzinators during random urinalysis?

I was told it’s nearly impossible to cheat. I’ve read some places make Sailors drop their pants and drawers below their butt and hold their shirts up, while an observer sits in a chair next to the urinals and watches, is that true?
