Help interpreting wordless Miele fridge manual

Hi, does anyone know if these spacers/bumpers on the sides of a Miele integrated fridge are supposed to be removed or not? I think the answer is yes based on the precise location of the X’s, but it could be interpreted either way. The worded sticker (2nd pic) says to refer to the instructions.

Hey everyone, I recently picked up a vintage Miele G550W dishwasher. It had apparently been used less than 10 times in its entire life, it was sitting in a rarely used vacation house owned by some wealthy people.

Honestly, I love the look of it. The vintage, simple design gives a really nice character to the house.

But there’s one problem: it’s insanely loud. I’m wondering if that’s just normal for a dishwasher from that era, or if there might actually be something wrong with it? Because if this noise level is considered normal… I probably won’t keep it hahaha.

What do you guys think?

Should I give up on my new Miele dishwasher?

I have been lurking on this sub for a few months and finally purchased a G7186 dishwasher. I purchased it through Ferguson. I waited a month, but they could not install it the first time. The second time there was another issue with my cabinet. On the third visit, installers hooked it up, but water would not drain out of the unit.

I have not had access to a dishwasher for three or four weeks now. At first, they were going to send someone out to service it, but a few days ago they decided to just replace it.

I did hear from a couple of service companies, but none of them were local to me. In fact, one company is two hours away. I’m really concerned about the quality of this unit given the fact that the first one arrived inoperable. Now, if I have a problem with the one that is arriving next week, having to hire out of town repair service may be very expensive. I am fairly handy, and can handle some repairs myself, but I wanted to know from others who have this unit if they require service on a somewhat regular basis.

Bottom line, I’m on the roof and about to jump off. I can still get my old dishwasher back and return the Miele. Can someone talk me down?

Best Miele attachment for a house filled with hardwood + rugs?

Hi!

My Miele C3 has been a trusty tool for a number of years. I currently live in an old two-story New England home where pretty much every room (other than the bathroom is hardwood with an area rug (or two). The rugs range from a medium-pile Persian rugs to thinner ikea/ruggable rugs to a thick oversized waterhog doormat. What’s the recommended vacuum head in this scenario?

I currently have an:

- an older Electroplus (non-adjustable)

- Parquet Twister

- Turbo Brush

The Electroplus was great when I had wall to wall carpet, but is maybe too aggressive for hardwood plus rugs? On the other hand, the Parquet Twister was amazing before I put rugs everywhere but switching attachments in every room feels burdensome. I’m interested to hear if anyone else has this type of scenario and if there is a good middle ground that doesn’t sacrifice performance + convenience too much.

Thanks!

We just got a Miele dishwasher (7266) and I’m kicking myself because in reading about all the awesome sounding features I never even considered that the rack layout/structure would be so different and tough for me to figure out. I feel like our dishes, which were absolutely fine in our old whirlpool that bit the dust, just don’t fit? Even our silverware handles are too wide to seem to fit in the top silverware tray.

I’ve watched a couple videos online and for some reason haven’t found them very helpful for actually fitting our lids square, multi-compartment plates in, for example. Running a load now with 2/3 of what would have fit in our old machine.

Did anyone else experience this type of “culture shock” and or have tips?

I did a kitchen remodel in 2002 and chose a Miele Incognito. After 18 years, a fluke freeze killed it. Not upset- it was just a weird thing that happened but the repair was going to be almost $900 and the dishwasher wa old enough that it made a sense to replace it.

Because of my first experience, I bought another on 5/1/2020, a G4998 for $1281.86.

This week, the dishwasher did not drain properly after a cycle. I called the appliance store that I originally purchased from and a technician came out. Unfortunately, the motor had died and a replacement part was $886 plus a $250 service fee for a total of $1215.52 (with tax).

I protested that I certainly expected a dishwasher from a company with a reputation for longevity to last longer than 5-6 years and the technician advised me to call Miele. The service call cost me $200, with an offer to install for the remaining $50 of the service fee if I did decide to repair

I did contact Miele. Miele’s solution was to offer to send another technician - at a cost of $160 for the visit and $160/hour labor-to again diagnose that the motor was bad. This diagnosis had already confirmed by the original repairman via phone call with Miele. When I questioned why I was being expected to pay another $320 before even discussing the cost of the motor, I was told that the Miele tech could bring a motor and replace it within that $320 labor cost (+plus of course the cost of the motor that only lasts 6 years now)

I will junk this dishwasher and replace with a Bosch or Kitchenaid. After more than 20 years of strongly recommending Miele to anyone looking for appliances, I am done

Buyer beware!

Washing machine keeps cancelling cycle during wash

We've had our washer for just over 2 years now.

Recently it's started playing up.

It sometimes cancels cycles during rinses. No notification, just cancels it.

Washer remains turned on.

I wouldn't say the washer is overloaded, like I said we've had it for 2 years now.

It's really frustrating.

Any ideas what could be causing it?

Open water supply error after software update

I finally ran software update this morning and I washed 2 loads. The first was darks/denims and everything seemed OK. The second was sports program and it kept extending the time (it wasn’t overloaded, I always wash the same clothes). When it was finally done, I saw “Open water supply” error. Water pressure is very high, so that cannot be the issue. Has anyone seen this error after software update? The washing machine is a bit over 1 year old and is under warranty. It’s a bit suspicious that the issue appeared right after software update.

Are twindos numbers (1,2) misspelled on the machine display?

So the numbers on the setup display on the machine are:

  1. Whites
  2. Colors

The ultra phase detergents are numbered the other way around, as far as I understand. That is:

  1. Colors - ultra phase 1 is the main enzyme detergent for everything.
  2. Whites - the ultra phase 2 is the oxiclean agent added for whites.

Please enlighten me if I’m wrong, because it affects my dosage logic.

So far I have a problem that if I set twindos to whites, I have some excessive foam. I’ve dialed it down a lot, but there still is a bit too much.
But, if I set twindos to colors, there is no foam at all, to the point that I’m not sure there is soap added at all.

My current dosage is phase 1 at 15ml, phase 2 at 8 ml. My water is softened d5-d7 hardness, but it actually behaves like even softer water. I use but a tablespoon for any mainstream liquid detergent, otherwise there’s foam coming out of the dispenser tray.

So what would the community suggest, to add more sips to the colors twindos setting, should I increase phase 1 or 2? And how can I avoid increasing foaminess for the whites while doing so?

Excited about the mashing by the way, I have wwi880 was

WT1 Relocation

Hi,

I am in the process of moving house and am planning to bring my Miele WT1 (which has been installed and used here for a year) with me. I have read that when moving washing machines of this size and weight you need to lock the drum down to avoid damage. I have heard from a few sources that the machine should have come with transit bolts but they don’t seem to be here (I was not the one who purchased and installed this machine). I called Miele customer services and they had great difficulty understanding what I was talking about and then finally stated that I did not need to buy transit bolts to put into the machine when moving it. I am not convinced and wondered if anyone had any experience with this? I have read the manual online and it shows you how to reinstall them but doesn’t tell you if you even have to or when you would do that. We also seem to be missing the tool that it comes with anyway.

Feeling very confused about what is true or not and I’m a bit worried that if we hire someone to move it it will get damaged.

Appreciate any help or advice anyone has on this specifically but also the whole process of getting it ready for transit and how to move it itself.

Edit: The bolts (better named as transit bars) are not behind the machine, and as far as I can see not underneath.

Miele Detergents - Worldwide Formula?

kia ora all, another question towards the AUS/NZ lipase list.

does anyone happen to know if Miele's detergent formulas are the same worldwide? i've found their ingredients reports for the US market, but can't confirm by contacting if they're the same here until Monday, so if anyone knows more this will speed up my process a bit.

if anyone happens to have Miele products at home that say anything relevant on the packaging or otherwise have more info, that'd be super helpful! thanks in advance, stay fresh 😎

The machine is stuck on that error

I ran a normal brew unit cleaning and dropped the tablet in the chute as usual. The cleaning cycle seemed to complete OK until it got to the part about removing the plastic container and the message “Empty the drip tray and clean the contacts”.

I did so and reinserted the drip tray but the message did not go away. I cleaned it again including scrubbing the contacts on the tray with a toothbrush. That made no difference

Thinking maybe it was a computer issue and a reboot might help, I pulled the machine out of the wall and unplugged it. When I plugged it back in, it was off so I turned it on and got a new message that just says “Empty Drip Tray”, which seems to indicate the same issue

I found a couple Reddit threads that indicated cleaning the sensors in the machine would help (photos attached). I tried to do so with a wooden skewer as was suggested but that didn’t help.

When doing some noticed that there are 2 tabs on the one at left and one on the right. Did one break off on the right, or is this as normal? I’d like to confirm if new parts are needed and order a new sensor(s) before I pull the machine out of the wall. It’s plumbed in and pretty difficult to disconnect with one hand while holding the entire machine in the air with the other

Also, are the contacts the shiny metal bits at the back? I.e., they appear to be clean.

Or do they project down from above the contacts? I can’t see up there but that would make more sense to me given the way the metal tabs are designed on the tray itself.

Any other ideas before I pull it from the wall and disassemble?

I have the Miele G7196 Dishwasher which I love.

I want to use the auto start feature. The issue I am running into is that it won't auto start if the dishwasher is off. The Miele app is crazy stupid that it doesn't have a feature to turn on the dishwasher.

Is there any way to keep the dishwasher on so I can use autostart?

Hello everyone,

today I heard some very strange noises from my Dishwasher.
I have a G7197 and when loading it up and starting a programm, it shortly after started making noises like a Blender with a Nut inside.
I opened the door to stop the program and remove a front piece to record the seen Video.

Does anybody have a guess what may cause this and if i can fix it myself?
I already cleaned the drain inside and took it out to check for a loose part and didnt find anything.
Any help is appreciated!

hi

Our machine (WED665) is around 3 years old. We have been using the twindose system from day one and several was cycles per week. No issues. Suddenly it reports cartridge 1 is empty. We replace it, but still it’s being reported as empty. We have also tried with the twindose care and cleaning program. It works for port 2 and runs the program, but not for port 1. It will stop after one minute and the display will blink. Is there anything I can do apart from ordering expensive service? I tried turning the power on/off as well.

I just bought a G 5008 dishwasher and in the parts package and on the diagram there is an odd part that seems to have no use. I have combed over the drawings and read the manual but I can’t seem to find a use. My brain must solve this but can’t so I’m reaching out to the Reddit hive mind. Here’s a pic of the part and diagram. Help?

Good morning, I purchased a Miele WEB685 WCS washing machine from the website and I wanted to know if the refill containers 1 and 2 (code NB TD 0100 and NB TD 0200) were compatible so that I could use them with my generic non-Miele detergents.
