Thinking about buying cloud 3 S

I recently tried the cloud 3 wired and loved it but i wanted to switch to a wireless option and the sound from how people describe it is really nice but the twist is people talking about the disconnection issues, so is it really that bad and not fixable??

Thinking about buying HyperX cloud 3 S wireless, coming from cloud 2 wireless

Hello!

I have for a long time wanted some new headphones since the once I have now are quite worn down (They may be cracked because I may or may not have gotten angry hehe....) and have used them for a long time. I was very happy with my could 2s, and was just wondering about if the Cloud 3 S wireless would be a nice upgrade coming from the 2s. I have seen a lot of negative reviews coming from the cloud 3, but I was wondering if this was the same for the cloud 3 s wireless.

If anyone has had the same swap please let me know how it felt compared to the cloud 2 wireless

HyperX Cloud Alpha not detected in NGENUITY / Bluetooth pairing issue HELP!!!

I tried installing the HyperX NGENUITY software, but it does not detect my HyperX headset on my PC.

I also attempted to enter Bluetooth pairing mode by holding the power button while the headset was turned off, but it does not seem to go into Bluetooth scanning mode.

I tried searching for drivers online as well, but couldn’t find anything useful. Can someone help me figure out what I might be doing wrong?

Also, I have a second question:
If the headset is connected to my PC via the USB dongle, can I switch to Bluetooth mode at the same time and use it with my iPhone for music during WFH, or does the dongle connection block Bluetooth usage?

Hey everyone! 👋

NGENUITY is officially out of beta, and we're opening up this thread as the dedicated space to talk all things full release. Whether you've been with us since the early beta days or you're jumping in fresh, we're glad you're here!

This is the spot to:

  • Discuss the full release with the community
  • Suggest features or improvements you'd like to see
  • Share how the app's been feeling overall

We'll be keeping an eye on this thread and jumping into conversations along the way. If there's a delay on our end, we're probably digging into details or looping in the software team - but everything shared here does get seen and passed along. We appreciate your patience! 🙏

> Quick note: Let's keep this thread focused on NGENUITY. Comments about other products, orders, or off-topic stuff may be removed just to keep things clean and useful for everyone. > > If you run into a technical issue or discover a new bug, please go ahead and start a new thread rather than reporting it here. Assign it the "Software" flair, and include your product, system specs, and steps to reproduce the issue - the more detail, the better.

This release is a milestone, but it's not the finish line - there's still plenty more coming. Your feedback continues to matter, so don't hold back.

Looking forward to hearing what you all think! 😁

Hi everyone, i’m looking for some advice on which wired headset I should pick. I mainly play on PS5 and focus on story-driven action-adventure games like Spider-Man, Ghost of Tsushima, Ratchet & Clank, etc. So immersion, sound quality, and comfort for longer sessions are pretty important to me.

For now, all of the options I’m considering are wired headsets. This will also be my first “premium” headset, so I want to make the right choice:

- HyperX Cloud III

- HyperX Cloud Alpha

- HyperX Cloud Stinger 2

For my use case (mostly single-player, immersive games), which one would you recommend and why? I’m also wondering if it’s worth saving up more for something like the HyperX Cloud III S Wireless, but I’m not sure if going wireless is really worth it for my use case.

Appreciate any insights or personal experiences. Thanks! 🙏

Recommend some headphones

I'm currently using the HyperX Cloud Flight

I really like the sound quality, but the battery life is terrible—it starts to die after just 4 hours of use.

I really enjoy listening to music with them. I’ve tried MCHOSE and SteelSeries, but the sound on those is flat and awful.

Can anyone recommend something similar to the Cloud Flight in terms of sound quality?

What do I do? They're out of warranty :( Cloud 3

I've cared for them exceptionally well, they work amazing but both of these parts are failing, I can't even find a replacement on aliexpress.

HyperX refused support for my Cloud III Wireless even though it was sold with a 2-year warranty

I honestly cannot believe the experience I just had with HyperX support.

I bought a HyperX Cloud III Wireless headset because it was advertised with a 2-year warranty. Now, after about a year of normal use, the USB wireless dongle suddenly died completely.

The dongle:

  • No longer lights up
  • Is not detected by any PC
  • Does not appear in Device Manager
  • Does not work with different USB ports
  • Does not work with the USB-C or USB-A connection
  • Does not work on multiple devices/computers

I tried literally everything possible. The headset itself still works perfectly through the 3.5mm cable, so the problem is clearly the USB receiver.

I contacted HyperX phone support and was basically told that they “can’t do anything” because the product supposedly has no warranty coverage. That makes absolutely no sense to me considering the product was sold with a 2-year warranty and is still being advertised that way.

Has anyone else experienced this with HyperX support? Is there any way to get a replacement dongle or actual warranty assistance?

Help me

I think my headset is a HyperX Cloud Alpha. I bought it for over 100€ about a year ago. After only two days, the left side stopped working, but then it somehow started working again. Unfortunately, the problem came back yesterday and I can only hear from the right side now. I'm fed up with it. I opened the left earcups to check the wiring, but I can't see anything wrong (I don't know much about electronics). Can a pro please help me? I don't have the money to buy a new one

I recently bought a pair of HyperX headphones specifically for competitive shooters while traveling. I usually use Audeze Maxwell 2, but I wanted something much lighter for trips. The weight and comfort of the HyperX attracted me, but the experience turned into a total nightmare because of their absolute garbage software.

All I wanted was to adjust my microphone sensitivity so my teammates could hear me better. I downloaded the official NGENUITY app, and that’s when the hell started. This software behaves more like malware than a utility. Even after I uninstalled it, it left behind 10 ghost audio channels and drivers that refused to disappear.

Every time I rebooted, the channels were back. Standard uninstallation via Device Manager did nothing. Manual registry edits were blocked by the system. I spent my entire weekend fighting this. I had to use third-party tools like PowerRun and forced PowerShell commands just to rip out the "SWD\MMDEVAPI" and "ROOT" registry stubs that NGENUITY had forcefully embedded into my Windows OS.

It’s honestly a disgrace. The hardware is decent and light, but for the money spent, getting a broken OS and a wasted weekend is unacceptable. I’m only able to use my PC now because Gemini guided me through this technical nightmare step-by-step.

TL;DR: If you’re looking for a lightweight headset for travel, the hardware is fine, but NEVER install their software. It’s pure evil. Use Equalizer APO or SteelSeries Sonar instead if you need to tweak your mic.

**EDIT (a little more complex EQ, if u want simple working version, skip the edit):
COMPLEX METHOD:

Now I've noticed there is room for improvement, and the was a good update for Ngenuity Beta, and incase u want to use the Ngenuity beta software parametric EQ to correct the sound, which allows u to disable Dolby Atmos as well... it's going to look like this

Completed Parametric EQ in Ngenuity

it is based on this Harman 2018 target:

Made using AutoEQ on Squidlink

use the software EQ to make these points and keep the points on bell curve:

Points for Harman 2018 target

2 ways to tackle this headset, the above is a little complicated, but allows you to skip out on Dolby Atmos, but can be hard to implement, so I'm keeping the bottom one for quick setup for a good sound as well.

To use this method, you have to set your audio device to NGENUITY - 8 Channel, and in Ngenuity disable the in-app spatial its sounds weird and is finicky not great, even after a lot of manipulation.

The app looks after u select and take advantage of built in software.

while you are at it, u can try these settings for the mic to improve clarity but remember to set you input device to NGENUITY - Microphone, for the software enhancements to kick in, enjoy.

End of Edit**

EASY METHOD:

Ok so I already had a great guide on the Cloud 3 wireless (Cloud 3 wireless, Dolby Atmos, DTS X, Best optimized settings and Punchy EQ : r/HyperX and Cloud 3 wireless reflection, DTS:X, Best optimized settings and Punchy EQ (provided at the bottom of the post) : r/HyperX) but I made the jump to get the new Alpha 2s because I liked the velour pads and the Bluetooth feature (mostly to use it with my phone), and I'm generally very happy with the improved battery life and build quality, probably the best gaming headset out there overall sound-wise and of course the Dual-Chambered bass/drivers are primo.

Dolby Atmos:
The headset is great out of the box but if you want to use it at the best level I highly recommend you invest in Dolby Atmos over here on the Microsoft store:
https://apps.microsoft.com/detail/9N0866FS04W8?hl=en-us&gl=QA&ocid=pdpshare
purchase it (I think you get a lifetime license for a few bucks) and set it to the "Music Warm" preset; this will make you ignore the buggy spatial sound settings in Ngenuity as it is still in beta for these headphones.

As for Ngenuity Beta to control the headset you have to install it over on HyperX website:
HyperX NGENUITY Software – HyperX ROW
After which you will set the EQ to Hardware EQ Music and make the following adjustments:

Best sounding EQ for music and overall usage

32 Hz at +2.0 dB
63 Hz at +1.5 dB
125 Hz at +0.5 dB
250 Hz at -0.5 dB
500 Hz at -1.0 dB
1 kHz at 0.0 dB
2 kHz at +1.5 dB
4 kHz at +4.0 dB (explained below)
8 kHz at +2.0 dB
20 kHz at +3.0 dB

The reason behind the high peak at 4kHz is because out of the box these headphones have a large dip at 4kHz with the stock pads (which I have no intention of replacing as I like them):

Readings of the headset's default sound captured by GadgetryTech

So, my EQ above combats these dips and boosts the sounds to give them this signature Hyper X punchy sound while maintaining the V signature sound that I like all the while keeping everything clear and smooth.

*Important:* After which u want to set your default Device in windows to "HyperX Cloud Alpha 2 Wireless Game", and your Default Communications Device to "HyperX Cloud Alpha 2 Wireless Chat" to be able to take advantage of the game chat balance, whenever setting voice chat app such as discord google meet etc. set it to the chat device and pull all other apps on game if done manually, for mic set default device and communication to "HyperX Cloud Alpha 2 Wireless Chat"

After which you will go into your windows 11 sound settings and click the Headphones: "HyperX Cloud Alpha 2 Wireless Game" and make sure your format is "2 channel, 24 bit, 96000 Hz" and Audio enhancements is set to "Device Default Effects" as well as Spatial sound set to "Dolby Atmos for Headphones" if you did everything correctly it should look like this:

Your Windows 11 sound settings after setting everything up correctly

Few disclaimers:
*I am not affiliated with Dolby, HyperX or Microsoft.
*Ngenuity is very buggy at this stage and will actively try to convince you to switch audio device as the spatial audio will not work if u select the non-Ngenuity devices in your windows settings as the device, but ignore it, we don't use the built-in spatial audio of the headset as we opt for the considerably better Dolby Atmos.
*Again since Ngenuity is in beta sometimes it will reset your Audio Equalizer to default values, no idea if this gets patched by the time you read this, and I understand you would be frustrated and inclined to install another EQ app, but using the headset's native app allows you to have this EQ on the hardware, and possible have better sound on your BT devices as well, it works Great when everything is set correctly.

If you followed everything in this guide, everything should sound good and comfy.
Wish you the best, happy listening.
An overly sound-involved CS engineer.

Enjoy :)

Just got the Hyper X Could III S Wireless. Are they supposed to sound this bad?

Upgraded from the Cloud Flights I had for six years. Heard a lot of good things about these online.

When I got mine and tried them out, I instantly felt like they sound like absolute garbage.

Super muddy, flat sound. I messed with the EQ in Ingenuity, but no matter what I did, it only seemed to sound even more muddy using Ingenuinty.

Any advice?

Hi,

I've had the old hyperX cloud 2 for a very very long time. I really appreciated them, the clarity of the sounds while gaming etc. Sadly, they are in a bad shape so I said why not buy the same exact pair.

I just received them from amazon and they sound absolutely horrible. The sound isn't the same as the old one I can clearly see the difference between both.

What happened and how can I fix that ? Otherwise, I will have to refund and go with another brand because what the hell...

Hey! Not sure if this is the best way to report this but at the very least its exposed to other people that might have the same problem.

So i recently got the Cloud Alpha 2 and honestly i love it. Software obviously needs more work but at this time and point its decent enough just not intuitive.

I was having this issue where in basically any game, even light stuff like League or Shadow of War, the audio would randomly cut out for 1-2 sec and then come back, or it would do this interference/static sound before cutting. It was way more regular if I was on Discord.

I started using tools like LatencyMon to check what was up and after a lot of time troubleshooting with no success I found out the bug comes from the spatial audio side. The "Full Release" version of NGENUITY has this bug where if you try to uninstall it, it doesn't actually take the virtual devices with it. I literally had to install the Beta version and then uninstall THAT just to get the virtual devices to actually leave my system.

When I reinstalled the software, it asked if I wanted to install the virtual devices for spatial audio and I just refused. Since then, the audio has been great and I haven't had a single hiccup. NGENUITY still lets me control the base station RGB and check battery, but it stays away from my Windows audio drivers.

I do miss having the surround sound on tho since its way more immersive for certain games, but at least the cutting out stopped. If you're having this issue, just purge the drivers (hopefully you have the Beta installed and/or have its installer) and skip the spatial install.

I hope this helps!

Cloud 2 vs cloud stinger 2 vs cloud 3

Hi yall, i was wondering which headset is worth getting for the price it is at. I will mainly use the headset for competitive fps like valo and yt videos, no story games etc. The prices are:

cloud 2 stinger: 39 euro

cloud 2: 46 euro

cloud 3: 66 euro

(Will use the headset mic too, cloud 2 and cloud 3 is second hand and cloud 2 stinger is brand new)

Edit: I also can buy a brand new cloud 3 for 85 euro, is that better?

I just bought brand new HyperXCloudIII S.

It allways starts buzzing whenever sound goes quiet, or pauses for a moment, in between videos ending and starting a new one, playing games and sound goes very quiet.

Even when I put volume to 0 the buzzing starts clearly on the right ear.

Has anyone had this issue? Is there a solution?
