Hiring Issues - but still hiring [upto $100 per video]

Hey Folks,

Hope all is well. Some time back I posted a freelancer gig. Let me tell you what happens when someone is hiring, and it's not fun at all

  1. Overwhelming DMs with "Hey there" - what should I do with this?
  2. Lack of patience: I am going through each messages, it takes time
  3. Garbage applicants: As an editor if you spend 5 mins look at creators channel and send the relevant work, it really helps. But barely people do that
  4. Ghosting: I typically share the whole process upfront, if there is a 30 second demo clip, it's a requirement. I have never gotten a job without an interview to showcase my skills, I can't expect to pay someone until I can see the value they bring onto the table
  5. Commitment: There is a set timeline to deliver a work, If I am expecting you to deliver a video in 7 days, but you are unable to product a demo clip in 48 hours, this won't work
  6. Communication: For some reason you are unable to deliver in 48 hours, the lack of communication baffles me

Anyways, I am still looking for someone - if you meet the above requirement - happy to connect.

Note: I am fully aware that there are similar frustrations from editor side too.

Job details are below

Looking for a Funny, Creative Video Editor for Brand Content [$200]

Looking to hire a video editor for a few brand videos.

We’re a brand called GOOBS, and we want the edits to feel fun, funny, fast-paced, and super engaging, kind of in the style of Cold Ones. We’re looking for someone who understands comedic timing, meme-y edits, zooms, sound effects, captions, visual punchlines, and internet humor.

This is for a few short form videos to start, with potential for more work and to scale with the company if it’s a good fit.

Before hiring, we’d want to do a quick call/meeting first to make sure the vibe is right and we’re aligned on the style and expectations.

If you’re interested, please send:

- examples of your work

- anything funny / fast-paced you’ve edited

- your rates

- your availability for a quick intro call

(You can dm “COLT” from there)

Looking for someone who can make content feel genuinely entertaining, not just polished.

Editors — how are you actually getting clients right now?

I’ve been noticing something:

Most editors are stuck doing one of these:
• Spamming cold DMs
• Fighting on Fiverr/Upwork
• Getting underpaid or ghosted

And honestly, it’s inefficient as hell.

So I tried something different.

I started a small private Discord where I connect editors directly with clients I find. No platform fees, no middleman cuts — editors just pay a small weekly/monthly fee to be inside.

Current structure:
• $5/week → ~3–5 clients
• $10/week → ~7–10 clients
• $100/month → higher paying clients ($50–100+/min type work)

Editors keep 100% of what they earn.
If I don’t deliver clients during the subscription → I refund. Simple.

We’ve only been running for a short time, but a few editors already landed $5–$20/min projects through it.

Not trying to sell anything hard here — just testing if this model actually helps editors long term vs the usual grind.

Would you join something like this, or do you prefer finding clients yourself?

(If you want details, you can DM me — but mainly curious what you guys think about this approach.)

Need help correcting oscillating exposure/sun glare on video

Hello,

I have a video about 1 min long climbing video that needs edits to the exposure. The wind caused the branches to sway and the sun to peek through causing the glares and/or confusing the camera of the exposure. I’d like to even out the exposure to

lean towards more shadow detail. My end goals is to have the image quality maintained while looking natural and less distracting. See my lastest post to another sub to get a sense of what I’m dealing with. Will pay requested amount and tip extra if results exceed expectations.

Hiring a video Editor for an Underwear/Lingerie Brand

Hi everyone,

I'm the founder of a women's lingerie brand. I'm looking for a French-speaking video editor for an ongoing, high-volume collaboration.

The role: Edit short-form ads (15–60s) for Meta and TikTok: strong hooks, retention-driven structure, subtitles, dynamic cuts. Formats: UGC, VSL, mashups.

Volume: 3 to 5 videos per day depending on format. This is a near full-time collaboration, not one-off projects.

Budget: $10–20/hr depending on the quality of your work. A fixed monthly salary is possible for full-time candidates.

What I'm looking for: Experience editing e-commerce ads (not corporate or YouTube). Understanding of hook mechanics and conversion psychology. Fast and consistent delivery. A feel for the textile/lingerie space is a bonus.

Language: Fluent French is required. Location doesn't matter.

To apply: DM me with examples of e-commerce ads you've edited, your rate per video, and your availability.

ASSISTANT EDITOR NEEDED SOLID PAY NO BEGGINERS

Hey, I am a high-skilled video editor by myself, and I have a lot of ongoing work that I can’t do alone, so I am looking for 1 editor to help me with that

Pay can depend, but from $10-$20 short form, and $30 - $60 long form

THIS ISN’T THING FOR PEOPLE WHO JUST WANT TO GET MONEY, BUR FOR ONES WHO ARE LOOKING TO LEVEL UP THEIR SKILLS.

Key is that that I will GIVE YOU FEEDBACK on each edit on what could be done better, so this is a perfect opportunity for someone who wants to grow in any way.

Trial test is required.

This isn’t job for begginers, but for solid editors who don’t have clientele.

Messages without portfolio will be ignored

[REVSHARE] Geopolitical YouTube Series (editor required)

Yo.

I have an already monetized YouTube channel and I am on the hunt for someone to assist with video editing for a 12-part geopolitical video essay series. As above, this is on a revshare basis, you will be paid a %age of earnings on the videos you edit so please don't contact me unless you are happy with this arrangement.

I do not expect a professional editor, but this would be suitable for someone just starting out and looking to expand their portfolio. Fully scripted, professional voice over artist. Faceless.

The series asks a question:

What would lead a US President to authorise a nuclear strike?

The answer takes twelve episodes to tell. The draft scripts are complete.

My audience is male, 25-44, US, CAN, UK, EU. Expect a reasonable RPM based on demographics. You'll also be fully credited for your work.

This is a serious "what if" documentary, not a YouTube drama. You will have artistic licence to define the visual direction in consultation with me.

If you're interested DM me and we can chat. Discord preferred.

If this works out there can be further opportunities to work with me on a revshare or paid basis. Growing channel making 2-3 videos per week.

Thanks....

Al
