402 lb/182.5 kg deadlift ATPR 🥳

Milestone deadlift @ 2.6x BW 🥹 Finally broke into the 400s. Was nervous going into this PR as it’s the last week of my training block and fatigue is kicking in. What a nice confidence booster to know I can grind out a lift with accumulated fatigue.

4 weeks out from nationals!

Why doing heavy deadlifts seems to easy to do even for scrawny men or women?

I’ve never done it and even tough i bench 160kg my dl is barely touching 140 😂 idk if it’s form or what but everyone seems to be pulling more than 400lbs and they don’t even look like super strong or sum. Is it really that easy?

Can't keep hips down

Last week I recorded myself doing DL and I noticed that I raise my hips just before the lift and make it into a stiff-legged instead of a regular DL. I've tried this week to focus on keeping my hips down, but I can't seem to make it work somehow. So I'm a bit at all loss as to what to do. Should I go way down on weights to work a ton on mind/muscle-connection? Should I try switching to sumo (I have long legs, so maybe this wouldn't be the worst idea)? Would really appreciate any thoughts you guys have.

705 deficit raw

Messing around between my last competition and starting my next training block, decided to see if I could still pull with hook grip. A bit soft on the lockout, but I’ll take it for now

533 at 197 and 43 yo. 550 in my sights!

This probably doesn’t get three white lights but I’m counting it for a gym PR. Bar drifted forward which is usually not my problem. Ugh. And I don’t know that I got the lockout. But hey it went up and that’s good.

Question for the deadlifters

People who can deadlift a decent amount of weight — do you deal with lower back issues, or has deadlifting actually made your lower back feel “bulletproof”?

I’m curious whether consistent deadlifting strengthens and protects the lower back over time, as i am experiencing some sensitivity and tightness in my lower back.

Deadlift Reps

Trying to gage the RPE of this. I typically use the longer deadlift bar that has a bend in it, but I recently switched to a power bar. Im trying to get stronger with taking it off the floor. So with my typical setup this would have been like an RPE 7 ish, but tbia felt closer to a 8... maybe higher lol.

Snatch/wide grip deficit pause deadlift 260kgx3

Training was getting boring and i decided to pull the hardest variation of deadlift i could think of. Just a belt no suit no straps 🦍💪

Deadlift - not feeling hams/gluteus

Hi all.
Trained deadlifts yesterday. They were heavy sets for me. In the day after feel my lower back sore (DOMS) but nothing in hams or gluteus. Wondering if my form starting to breakdown as I increase weights. Is there any obvious issue from this video?? Many thanks !

Max Attempt today

Been working up to a max day for about 12 weeks. And yes, I realize I jerked it at the start. I'm not 100% happy with it and it probably messed with my next attempt at 415 that I failed.

Is my form cooked?

new to deadlifts

What i'm noticing:

- no need to adjust so much and minimize time between reps

- maybe pull a bit more with hamstrings?

- lock lats, back and down

- need to slack pull

- bit wider knees

questions:

- when i drop the weight down, i notice the momentum shakes thru my arms. i dont feel anything negative but it looks bad through the video. should i make my descend more controlled?

- im using a thumbless grip, is that viable? i try to grip it normal with my whole hand, but my forearm hurts like crazy that way

160kg (352lbs) pr from a recovering sumo lifter

Used to lift sumo, I have since learned the joys of conventional dealift

Also a pretty far off attempt at 170kg (375lbs)

I know it ain’t much but it’s honest work… For the curious, Currently 1m79 & 71kg bw (5’10 & 156lbs) So ~2,25x ratio
