A giant red and 3 marbles all found within about an hour of snorkelling at cobblers cove, we found many more beautiful pieces but these are definitely my favourite!

You guys, I’m back home for a short period and met up with some old University friends. While catching up, the core theme seems to be that there’s no one to date(75% single). These are some of the most eligible singles I have ever known that are struggling to find love. It was the same sentiment when I visited Jamaica late last year and Barbados in January. I have to ask the question, why is dating in the Caribbean so hard?

I am a data scientist and AI engineer who has spent the last couple of years working on some big projects for major clients all over the world. I’m now based in Europe but was born and have lived the vast majority of my life in Bim. I want to use my expertise to make everyday processes and elements of life in Barbados more efficient and easy for Bajans — from govt level to community level to individual level. I would like input on what are some of the major day to day issues for locals in 2026. One thing that sticks out for me like a sore thumb is public transport, fleet maintenance and road maintenance: delays, unavailability and things of that nature. I have already started developing solutions for this with one being a GTFS system: all bus stops, all routes, all agencies, route schedules etc; 2. creating models trained on high res frequently updated satellite images to determine places where road works are going on for too long or where road work is needed. I want to build things for the community at large to benefit first and foremost — obviously govt will benefit secondarily. Please offer your suggestions and input as I have taken a break from work and have a couple months to really dive into this as a passion project. I will soon send screen grabs of some of what I have developed so far for Barbados with one being a very data intensive prototype with comprehensive datasets recommendation modules for dining/transportation/bajan chatbot and more. Looking forward to hearing from everybody. Thanks!

Business sense that ensures success in our careers and businesses.

Success is a must in our current roles, including our business endeavors.

To make this happen, our ability to understand important variables such as the market offering (product/service), the customers, key partners, revenue streams, finances, communications channels, and key operations is extremely important.

Moreover, strategic variables such as internal strengths or core competence of the organization as well as the knowledge of the market and industry the business operations will come in handy.

Nevertheless, our ability to understand the threats and opportunities inherent in the external environment of the business (from legislations, trends, and technology) will give us the power to make good decisions that will ensure long-term profitability and survival of the business.

This business intuition will give us the ability to become star players in our workplace.

Moreover, in our own businesses, we'd be able to make good business decisions that will give us a competitive advantage in the long run.

Citizenship Swearing-in Ceremony

I finally got my citizenship and at the Barbados consulate they told me I can have a ceremony during my next trip to Barbados. Has anyone ever participated in one? If so, how did you arrange it and how did it go?

Moving Back to barbados

Hi everyone. I am a Bajan citizen who grew up in the island as a child. After many years I am ready to move back home with my wife and child. Outside of my ID card and Passport, what other forms do I need to apply for a job, obtain health insurance, and pay taxes. Thank you for the help.

hey there, hopefully this post stays up and someone can help by providing some info and or tips, currently looking on places where someone can apply for entry level remote jobs ideally in admin support, virtual assistant, customer service rep roles but open to other opportunities as well...I have tried looking at the standard job boards you can find on google but have not had any lucky as they are either not for caribbean/barbados nationals or they require years of experience so any help that can be provided would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance guys

I will be around 21F, my boyfriend 21M. We are flying in from New York. Our budget including flights is around $3000 ish. We want to do a variety of things but stay at one hotel or Air BNB near the beach for 7-8 days. Any suggestions, perhaps a sample intinerary of anybody who took a similar trip? We do not want to rent a car.

Hi all! Later this year we'll be visiting Barbados for the forth time. I think we can confidently say it's one of our favourite places to visit. We've always stayed in the Worthing/Hastings area because we love getting loungers at the Tiki Bar and spending the day there - it's just a great place to hang for the day and the cocktails are unbeatable. In the evenings we walk to a local restaurant or take a Z Bus or taxi somewhere (La Cabane, Fish Fry, Surfers Bay, Harbour Lights etc).

This time we're considering trying the West Coast. We don't want to hire a car, so we need a short walk to an amazing, swimmable beach that doesn't get too busy and has at least one beach bar for drinks throughout the day and lunch. It would be nice if there were a few other things in walking distance.

We looked at Paynes Bay, Holetown, and Alleynes Bay and I'm leaning towards the latter and staying in Porters.

For those of you who know the island well, is this a good decision or will we be disappointed compared to Worthing? Thank you!

I'll be visiting barbados soon and I'm very interested to know what the insect diversity is like on the island. I assume there's more diversity within forested areas than the beach so very curious to know learn from people that live there what their thoughts are.

Also animals too!!

I’m staying in Bridgetown for an upcoming trip planned, and was wondering what option would be best to get to Chalky Mount. We really want to make it to the view attached to this thread. Would a taxi be best or would public transportation be better in this case? Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

I just got back and I have post Barbados blues. I won't repeat all the wonderful things others have said about the beaches and the weather but here's what made the trip unique and unforgettable for me:

The resort staff at Mango Bay were SO good to me. Like unbelievably good. I have celiac disease and they were so accommodating. There was a bit of education at first but they always asked and worked with me to ensure I didn't get sick. It's a small resort and the staff knew me by name after a day or so. It's such a good place right on the beach and next to a bunch of things within walking distance. Like the grocery store, a fancy mall, bus routes.

If there are any nerds in here, The Anime Spot in Bridgetown is a local game store. They're so nice. I spent 3 hours going through their free Magic the Gathering cards and just chatting with the staff. Bought some new cards too. I also connected with a local D&D group on Instagram before I left and was able to play a session with them while visiting.

I will absolutely be going back.
