In 20 years time chennai will be a case study on bad governance

Delhi Mumbai Bengaluru and Hyderabad have overtaken Chennai.

Next Pune Ahmedabad Gurgaon will also overtake us in the next 5 years.

We will be on the level of Nagpur Amaravati and Noida by 2040. (Probably they might also overtake).

Today Chennai holds virtually zero appeal for even non-resident Tamils who grew up in major metros like Mumbai, Bangalore, Kolkata, or overseas.

Chennai's conservative lifestyle, lack of urban governance, dirty streets, lack of IT infrastructure, growing elderly class means the city will fall like bricks in the coming years

I grew up here, left for good last year, ensured my parents got a good gated society villa in Coimbatore and will probably never come back. And I know many people my age who feel the same.

Sad state of affairs

Very good move and I hope is implemented well with strict action. Municipal corporation is very much needed for such implementation

Good to see vande mataram given its rightful importance by Vijay. A homage to tamil icons like VOC Pillai and Bharatiyar

Thanks to vijay now pangali narrative has become a reality

2026 Vijay showed their true colours

2029 Vijay is going to make these Pangalis non-existent

2031 Vijay is going to cross 200+

u/saybeast — 12 days ago

Yes its possible and yes politics today lacks any sense of morality and ideology. But any such Alliance between the pangalis will prove what Vijay has been saying all along: Pangalis have always put their interests over TN. This essentially why Vijay won, why makkal gave him the mandate. Let Vijay go to a floor test and allow the basic decency of following the democratic process.

I also think the probability of such an alliance has increased since yesterday. Both Pangalis know they can't have a re-election. But what dmk also essentially wants is for TVK to join hands with ADMK, so they can revive their old “TVK = BJP B-team” narrative and pull back their core voters.

This is why Vijay was quick to align with rahul gandhi and I think in hindsight is a good decision and will prove really well in 2029. DMK knows this and AIADMK is on the verge of collapse. So it makes sense Pangalis want to re-unite formally. But this is a major disservice to TN Makkal. Pangalis think people have short sighted memory but they are wrong.

I'm sure Vijay will come out of this as a champ. But anything can happen. Lets see

Very suspicious behaviour from the gov going against the mandate. As all gov do, give the single largest party the chance to prove the majority at the assembly.

Did she talk in Hindi? Yes, to the questions asked in Hindi.

Did she talk in Telugu? Yes, to the questions asked in Telugu.

Did she talk in English? Yes, to the questions asked in English.

Did she talk in Tamil? Yes, to the questions asked in Tamil.

This is Keerthana, TVK's Sivakasi MLA, fluent in multiple languages, clearly knowing when to use which language.

A multi linguist by nature, born and brought up in Tamil Nadu, schooling in madurai and Pondicherry. Spent her early years nurturing political consultancy at various firms around tamil nadu. She lives and breathes political governance in tamil Nadu

This was one of the most heinous crimes, and if I type some of the details of the crime scene here you will probably vomit. Such was the crime by this 20 something year old rapist.

The MP High court awarded the death sentence to the accused holding that the nature of the crime, the extreme depravity involved, and the absence of mitigating circumstances placed the case squarely within the “rarest of rare” category.

But SC Milords, stay another death sentence in another depraved rape case. This ain't the first time.

What a joke indian judiciary is

DMK kept saying they're for social justice and equality

But ground reports say they ignored their poor disadvantaged supporters in favor of few particular landlord lobbies. The media silence over these protests, how state police treated these women protesters and how state kept silence. All this creates a sense of angst particularly against Stalin. This was also the reason why stalin was advised by some ias officers and higher functioning cadres in DMK to not contest from Kolathur this time. But stalin ignored ground reality

No wonder poor people shifted to Vijay.

Imagine stalin says something like this. Even in the past, jaya, mgr, karuna or for that matter even functioning cadres never disrespected the democratic process

Meet 28 year old Kamali who before becoming a TVK candidate was a school teacher and home teacher under Vijay's CSR initiative providing free tuition to underprivileged kids. She went around villages in Avinashi campaigning often holding her infant child. She said in a recent interview that "even if I didn't win, I hope I inspire more women to come out and work for our state." She comes from a humble middle class family, well educated and a loving husband.

She went up against BJP starwalt L Murugan, current union minister. In an interview with india today he arrogantly said that he will win by 50K plus margin. In spite of facing Murugan and another young dmk candidate, Kamali won with a huge margin. All because of her hardwork and dedication towards governance.

Change is happening

Keerthana was an outstanding political analyst at show time consulting, a consulting firm. TVK saw a great potential in her. A talented consultant with aptitude for political campaigns and a genuine concern for development. A young woman coming from a middle class background.

Her ground work, campaigns have been very much grounded and she contended on basic issues which age old opposition leaders have failed at providing.

So people responded with a clear mandate as she won with a margin of 11K.

Change is happening

A few days before counting a bunch of vicious goons set TVK's candidate ramesh office on fire including burning his posters. After a complaint a few journalists asked this 30 year old what he feels about this attack. He replied "They are jealous that we are reaching new heights."

Such was the clarity of this young man who hails from a normal middle class household. He dedicated his entire 20s to social service and now has a chance to develop Srirangam.

A well qualified and calm personality, no criminal cases and was just a regular corporate coolie just like all of us.

I hope he does well

u/saybeast — 15 days ago

The TVK MLA from Thiruporur is just another middle class person, well educated, good awareness and very humble. Hes like most of us. This is the change through which TVK has won. His opponents were two local rowdies, with criminal cases.

I'm glad he won.

VS Babu is no ordinary person. A starwalt in north chennai, who was sort of a godfather type person. He helped Stalin win Kolathur back in 2011, with this seat being one of the two constituencies that DMK won in Chennai district otherwise what was a breach by Jayalitha.

But very soon VS Babu was sidelined and tensions started to rise. Sekar babu was roped in from AIADMK to be the face of North chennai and VS thought this was a giant betrayal and left for AIADMK. Edapadi gave North chennai District Secretary to VS Babu. But felt he needed more and was not satisfied and then joined TVK

VS Babu faced the sitting CM in what he called his "throne" and now has defeated Stalin.
