meeting Nir Eyal was not in my may card

meeting Nir Eyal was not in my may card

Nir Eyal came to our college recently and I honestly expected the usual startup talk about hustle, growth, scaling, productivity, etc. But one thing he mentioned about company culture and entrepreneurship felt very different from the usual founder advice. He said a lot of companies accidentally create distraction as part of their culture itself. And so many things.

Also managed to get my book signed at the end hahaha.

has anyone bought a personalized name necklace recently? need recommendations pls.

so i am going on a fourth date with my crush. but this time i am thinking to go with a gift.

i want to get her a name necklace as a gift because she once mentioned she's been wanting to buy one for herself. thought this is the perfect chance to actually get it for her before she does lol.

i just want something simple and nice that she can wear daily, cause ig she loves being simple and casual. so something that matches her personality.

now i am confused which and where to buy? i mean, can you pls recommend where to buy? i liked a cute necklace from theograce and the brand also feels awesome by reviews and all, but i don't know.

also i loved the golden color necklace but I saw she wears, silver ring, silver earings but i feels she will look nice in the golden color necklace. so what should I do?? 😭

i used to spend 1-2 hours every day cold mailing for internships. now it takes me 15 minutes.

Before i started my masters for internships my old workflow: open linkedin, find someone, guess their email, tweak a mail for their company, attach resume, send, log in a sheet. repeat. 1-2 hours a day, easy. now i scroll linkedin, send names + company to a whatsapp ai i set up, and it does the rest.

Figures out the email format from the company domain, drafts the mail with my master template, attaches my resume, sends, logs it in a tracker sheet. also tracks who replied and pings me to follow up.

i just forward profiles in between classes now. 2 replies in the first week, more than i got in a month of doing it the manual way. if you're a student grinding summer apps, set up something like this. genuinely the one thing i've stuck with.

Anyone here used Royale Touché veneers? Worth it?

Visited an interior showroom recently and saw Royale Touche veneers for the first time. Honestly, the finishes looked genuinely premium and a lot more natural than the usual veneer samples I’ve seen around.

Would love honest opinions from people who’ve used it in their homes?

visiting TN next month, what tamil words do locals actually appreciate beyond vanakkam/nandri?

Doing chennai, madurai, pondi for 2 weeks next month. Don't want to be that person who just says vanakkam and calls it a day. Been learning airlearn tamil for a few weeks so the basics are locked in. But apps only get you so far, I want the stuff locals actually use day to day.

Like how a foreigner saying "kya scene hai" in delhi instantly gets warmer reactions than textbook hindi. That kind of thing but for tamil.

Specifically: complimenting food without sounding google translated or maybe politely declining shop owners.

Also open to slang that won't accidentally make me rude, and that one phrase that always makes tamil speakers smile when an outsider uses it.

nandri :)

AI is erasing regional internet dialects

The early internet used to feel geographically alive. I was reading this in swati ganeti(md @ masters union) newsletter that you could often tell if someone was from India, Tumblr, Reddit, Twitter, gaming forums, or 2010s Facebook just from how they typed. Every corner of the internet had its own weird rhythm, slang, grammar, and personality.

Now a huge amount of online writing is starting to sound the same: polished, structured, emotionally neutral, and AI-assisted. Same sentence flow. Same formatting. Same “clean” tone.

Feels like the internet is slowly losing its accents.

Ahmedabad is getting a presentation comedy show called “PPT Kidhar Hai?”

Yoo guys, we’re trying a weird live show called “PPT Kidhar Hai?”

basically: people make funny/unserious presentations about their life, work, career confusion, startup delusion, emotional damage, linkedin behavior, etc.

not stand-up comedy. Definitely not a big boring lecture.

just people presenting nonsense very seriously.

5 minute PPTs. small audience. probably diet coke.

looking for:

  • presenters
  • audiences (free entry)

- cafes/coworking spaces willing to host chaos

Checkout website link in the comments for more info and if this sounds stupid enough to attend, dm me 🤧

GoFundMe authentication feels insanely fast.

like you barely notice it. clicked continue with Google once and I was inside immediately, For something like gofundme imagine someone wanting to donate and then getting stuck resetting a password lol they’ll probably just leave..

feels like companies underestimate how important auth speed is until they scale, especially consumer apps.

How is it this fast?

the hardest part of writing a resume is realizing how little you tracked your own work

I used to think my resume was weak because i wasn’t using the right tools. turns out the actual problem was that i genuinely could not answer: “what changed because you were there?” most of my bullets were things like:

1/ managed social media

2/ helped with reporting

3/ worked on outreach

which is basically just another way of saying “i had a job”. the biggest resume improvement i made was starting to ask “so what?” after every line. managed social media → so what? helped with reporting → so what? and that’s where the real bullet usually is.I resume checkers are useful for spotting weak points and fix it.

Tools like Careerflow or AI resume checkers are useful for spotting weak points and fix it.

So what worked for you?

Went to a Royale Touche dealer here in Pune just to “quickly finalize” laminates for a TV wall…

and now I’m stuck. Saw this marble finish panel (pic attached) and it looked super premium in the showroom. But also feels like something that could either look amazing… or very “builder flat” depending on execution. My flat gets decent light, but not sure if this will look too loud over time.

Anyone here used these marble-style laminates in their living room?

I have been applying to a bunch of roles and noticed most autofill tools work fine on greenhouse/lever but struggle with workday. simplify is quick but keeps missing fields or breaking on custom forms. tried careerflow recently, feels a bit more structured and slightly better on multi-step forms, but still not perfect.

honestly starting to feel like no tool fully handles workday cleanly. anyone found something that actually works reliably or is partial autofill just the reality?
