My wife has always loved giving flowers as gifts, but hated that they only last a few days.
So she started experimenting with making something that looks like a bouquet but is actually a blanket you can keep and use.
She went through a bunch of versions trying to get the flowers, fabric, and folding right this is the latest one she made.
I thought it was a pretty cool idea for birthdays, anniversaries, or even Mother’s Day since it’s kind of both a bouquet and a practical gift.
Maybe you have seen the crochet version, but we personally thought it was less comfy and giftable.
But then it got me thinking: is this something you’d actually give as a gift?
My partner (M27) and I have lived together for 5 years, and in a couple of weeks he moves over 500 miles away for a new job opportunity and lifestyle. I'll be joining him in August.
I'm stumped on what to get him as a going away gift because I've already got him lots of sentimental ideas and things for the house over the past few years we've been together, and he's already worried about the amount of stuff he needs to take over with him. He loves nature, hiking, planting trees, plants and gardening generally and he has a great sense of humour.
He certainly wouldn't expect a gift but I want to give him something to say how much I'll miss him and how much I hope that all goes well for him whilst we're apart, and that I'll see him soon.
Any ideas would be so appreciated!
hi everyone!
I want to put together a hamper to bring to the hospital when my little niece / nephew is born. I’m going to include loads of essentials for mum like maternity towels , nipple cream and more female care products! But I need some ideas for Dad..
from experience is there anything that new dads would have loved to receive to help with the first few days / weeks of having a newborn?

We’re all teens. Her birthday is still awhile out and is in late May. She always spends a lot of money on our birthdays but we don’t really want to spend that much money on her since we want to do other fun stuff around that time. Any ideas?
eta: she has food allergies so nothing good related, she likes to travel but we obviously can’t go and do that as teens
I have got 3 weddings coming up this summer and I’m stuck in the “not close enough for sth super personal, but cash feels a bit cold zone.
Do you usually do money, registry, or something like an experience (spa, dinner, weekend)? Looking for ideas that feel thoughtful without being over the top.
my boyfriend's 21 birthday is coming up and I'm looking for suggestions on what to give him. my budget is around $400 - $450 usd and he has a very specific set of interests and preferences that I want to consider when buying him his present. he can't put a lot of decorations in his room and doesn't have lots of spare time, so prints or posters and "experiences" types of gifts I'm trying to avoid
- he's a chemistry student and likes reading and learning in general. he likes puzzles and brain teasers and sciencey things.
- he likes music and films a lot, he likes buying headphones and he owns a cd player, he doesn't own a record player though.
- he likes star wars, halo, and batman mostly. he owns an xbox and he has basically every game available for all of these things. he's also into comics but I don't know which ones he owns :( .
- he's really into watches and magnets
- he likes well made things and prefers things made out of leather and metal. he isn't into luxury or brands or things like that, so I want to prioritize durability. (he's particularly into metal objects)
any suggestions appreciated!
I have been making this ceramic mug inspired by morel mushrooms and refining the glaze to better capture that earthy woodland look. I wanted it to feel genuinely handmade and sculptural, not generic. Sharing because it seems like the kind of gift a forager, mushroom fan, or cottagecore person might actually love.
Any ideas for a “larger” gift from mom & dad to a 4 year old boy?
I’d love to do a gift that isn’t just more stuff but unfortunately we don’t have a lot of the typical suggestions locally (museums/zoo etc memberships).
My budget is around $200, I just feel like he has all the things I’ve found googling ideas I.e. bike, scooter, play kitchen.
For an example his sister’s birthday gift this year was a cozy coupe car & a big doll house + birthday party.
He likes being outside, monster trucks, tools, superhero’s, space (grandma got him a kids telescope for Christmas)
Thanks in advance
Hi folks. I have a Japanese co-worker who is taking a trip back home, and offered to pick up something for my 15 year-old's son's birthday, who is enamored by all things Japan.
Looking for some creative ideas beyond just anime paraphernalia, which is pretty much all I could come up with. Thanks so much!
I’m doing a gift swap with a group of friends and could use some ideas!
There are 6 of us total (5 girls and 1 guy), and the way we’re doing it is that each person brings multiples of the same item (or similar) and everyone ends up with one of each gift.
Budget is $10 per person max.
I’m trying to find something that’s useful but is also fun and not very gender specific. So far I’ve thought about things like perfume atomizers, small travel items, etc., but I’m not fully sold on anything yet.
Also, unfortunately, this is a little last minute and we are meeting this Sunday so it needs to be things I can find on amazon or common stores, as there is no time to order off etsy or more custom-made places.
Any ideas?
hello its my parents' silver jubilee anniversary in a few weeks (indian parents btw) but I'm on a tight budget. what kind of gift(s) i can go for under 1k? :)
