This 13-yr old girl is super friendly and super easy to pair with other dogs but sadly, Maggie is showing signs of depression in this environment. Her family surrendered her to us after her owner passed and she could greatly benefit from finding placement outside the shelter.
It seems that she was victim of an undocumented kennel fight and is currently recovering from an abscess wound between the eyes.

🆘 6 week old pup Millie Mae is on the euthanasia list Thursday, 4/2 🆘
⏰ Millie Mae must have a RESCUE HOLD no later than 1PM or she will lose her life.🥺
RESCUE ONLY – a LOCAL FOSTER is needed for a rescue to step up and save her life. 🏡
💙🐶 Millie Mae #A2064907
3/27/2026 Stray | Labrador Retriever | Female | 6W | 4 lbs
💜 Volunteer Notes:
Millie Mae is just the cutest thing! She is noted to have sore cops and it needed medical treatment for that, but it doesn’t seem to bother her that much. This girl is not happy to be stuck in a kennel and wants to be out playing since she’s only six weeks old.
🔹 Intake:
Stray
3/27/2026: Intake condition severe. During intake puppy was BAR and whining. Possibly dull and nauseous due to car ride.
📝 Shelter Notes:
No behavior notes listed.
🚑 Medical Notes:
3/27/2026: Weighed 4.0 lbs. Generalized alopecia/hair thinning/crusting, especially on ear pinna margins and top of head. Diagnosed with contagious dermatitis consistent with sarcoptic mange (skin scrape positive for sarcops). Advantage Multi applied at intake. Started ivermectin injection 0.05 mL SQ, to repeat in 2 and 4 weeks. Started Clavamox drops 0.5 mL twice daily for 10 days.
3/27/2026: Dull and hypersalivating (possibly car sick), crusting around ears and general dermatitis. During intake puppy was BAR and whining.
3/27/2026: Parvo test negative. Exam performed. Vaccinated (DA2PP-V, Bordetella), dewormed, and given flea prevention.
3/28/2026: Appears blind. QAR but appears disoriented in kennel, making large concentric circles. Pupillary light reflex very sluggish bilaterally, absent menace response. Skin crusty and very pruritic. Absent menace may be developmental, but delayed PLR suggests possible optic nerve impairment. Skin abnormalities secondary to sarcopes. Continue to monitor.

⏰ Charlee must have a HOLD no later than 1PM or she will lose her life.🥺
🏡 AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION, FOSTER, OR RESCUE
🚗 OUT OF STATE ADOPTION IS POSSIBLE — cost is typically around $600 USD (give or take)
🩷🐶 Charlee #A2062490
3/11/2026 Stray | Aust Cattle Dog Mix | Spayed Female | 2Y | 38.6 lbs | HW Negative
💜 Volunteer Notes:
I met this girl a few weeks ago and I was really puzzled as to why she hasn’t been adopted. She’s such a sweetheart and full of kisses as you can see by the videos in the comments. As I was sitting in the cage, I noticed that a man walked by and she air snapped at him. This girl seems to love women, but is possibly afraid of men. She’s an absolutely beautiful girl, a perfect medium size and heartworm negative. She needs to go to a foster home where she can get over this fear. She is a very sweet girl
🎥 Bio https://youtube.com/shorts/mkyvcXLCiTY?feature=share
🔹 Intake:
3/11/2026: 1 large black dog tried to attack an employee. The dog is still in the church parking lot.
📝 Shelter Notes:
3/17/2026: Charlee was a move adopt in the am. She was placed into the outside runs by another ACT. As I came to retrieve her she greeted me at kennel door and sat down. Easy to leash and she walked out on a loose leash around the NB courtyard. She had a loose body and high waggy tail. Walked her to new kennel with no issues. She has been relaxed and quiet throughout the am cleaning. She lays relaxed on bedding with her front paws stretched out.
3/20/2026: Charlee greeted me at her kennel door with a neutral body. Easy to leash and she walked out on a loose leash around the NB courtyard. During the day she has been relaxed and quiet in her kennel.
3/22/2026: Charlee greeted me at her kennel door with a neutral body. Easy to leash and she walked out on a loose leash around the NB courtyard. She knows sit and takes treats.
3/22/2026: When I was placing sheets over some of my Adopt Evais, I heard a dog growling at a Mom & Son and when I asked what dog was growling at them they pointed towards Charlee. I covered her kennel and will monitor behavior when customers interact with her.
3/23/2026: Walked with wiggly body, tappy toes. Took off her cone in the run to take a new photo and she used the opportunity to sit and scratch both her ears and paw her nose. Placed the cone back on after and she stood still as I did, though with her tail tucked she tolerated the cone going back on. Fast walk back inside and into kennel.
3/24/2026: Dog was in front of the kennel when I leashed her she did little hops while walking with fast wagging tail and in the run dog potty then sat in front of the run door and was bringing her back she had wagging tail and let me pet her but in the afternoon when citizens approached her she would come forward then stare at them hard tail down and frowned eyebrows.
3/25/2026: Noticed that when citizens were peeking over covering she began to low growl. I handed the citizens treats to offer her and she came up to the kennel door hesitantly and took treats from them with a semi tense body, and lowered tail. He wanted to interact so I leashed and handed off the leash to them. The citizen began to use baby talk and got low and Charlee went closer to them and became super wiggly.
3/26/2026: Charlee was at the kennel door wagging her tail when I went to leash her. She let me leash her and she walked on a semi loose leash and was hopping around me as we walked around the courtyard. She took treats from me and went back into her kennel easily.
3/27/2026: Charlee was walked on a loose leash and energetic on her walk to the outside runs. She was hopping and skipping, and jumping around me. I gave her a few pets during the walk and she continued her previous action. On the way back to her kennel, she had the same behavior and I gave her some treats in her kennel before leaving.
3/28/2026: Very playful when walking she began to have zoomies and wanted to spin and get pets. In her kennel she is very quiet and relaxed even when a group of people are walking by her.
3/29/2026: Greets me with a wagging tail and a loose body she walks on a loose leash, after she potties she gets the zoomies and starts hopping around excitedly. In her kennel for most of the day she is quiet and calm but sometimes she does bark at people and show her teeth sometimes when they try to interact with her through the cage, but if I help the people take her out they usually say that she was very sweet and wagging her tail when they walked her round.
3/30/2026: Quiet in kennel, walked with loose leash and wagging tail out to the runs and back for AM walk. Kept kennel clean overnight. In the PM a lost pet was walking through the row. Heard Charlee forward bark, air snap at them as they looked at the dog in the kennel next to hers. She was extremely tense, whole body pointed at them in a stalking position, completely still and when they moved she growled and lunged forward. Once she saw me she stopped immediately.
3/31/2026: Was quiet in kennel during am cleaning, came up to front of kennel door when I was passing. Leashed as she exited, walked on a loose leash to and from runs. Will monitor behavior when citizens walk past.
🚑 Medical Notes:
3/11/2026: Weighed 40.0–45.0 lbs on intake/workup. Unable to get heartworm test initially due to thrashing, but she was good during workup and then became uneasy and began to thrash and cry. Vaccinated (DA2PP-V), given trazodone, and flea prevention applied.
3/12/2026: Weighed 38.4 lbs. Vaccinated (Bordetella, Rabies), dewormed, additional flea prevention and trazodone given.
3/13/2026: Weighed 38.4 lbs. Very friendly and easy to draw blood without restraint. Heartworm test negative. Currently stable.
3/19/2026: Weighed 38.6 lbs. Spayed. Noted to be in heat and postpartum at time of surgery. E-collar and pain medication given.
3/26/2026: Weighed 38.6 lbs. Normal exam. History of ear infection noted; no treatment needed. Currently stable.

🐾 MEET WAFFLE
ID #A2064252
4-year-old male German Shepherd mix (tan)
DOB: 3/23/2022
Intake Date: 3/23/2026
Status: Rescue Only- a local foster is needed for a rescue to help
⸻
📈Medical Notes
Waffle is heartworm positive, which is a serious but treatable condition with proper veterinary care. Aside from this, he appears physically stable and has received standard vaccinations and parasite prevention. With rescue support and treatment, heartworm-positive dogs like Waffle can go on to live full, healthy lives.
⸻
🐾Behavior Notes
Waffle is fearful and defensive in the shelter environment, showing behaviors like growling, barking, and snapping when overwhelmed. However, his notes clearly show this is fear-based—when approached calmly with patience and gentle “baby talk,” he begins to relax, wag his tail, and even seek affection. Outside of the kennel, he has shown a softer, wiggly side, walking well on leash and allowing pets.
