🎥 VIDEOS IN THE COMMENTS 🎥

💜 Volunteer Notes: Blackie is such a beautiful boy! This boy was ready to go outside to the runs after being stuck in a very small evaluation kennel. He leashed up easy and walked great surprisingly. I figured because he was a big dog he would pull, but he actually didn't. Out in the runs he was very sweet and interested in playing. A staff member brought out another dog in the kennel next to us and he was trying to get her to play with him. He has some notes regarding behavior, but I didn't see any of that while I was with him. He was very gentle and kissing with me. I was sitting on the bench and he would come over for affection. Watch his videos in the comments.

📝 Shelter Notes:

3/25/2026: wiggly body, high wagging tail, soft open mouth. walked on a forward leash but did not pull very hard. once outside began to try and instigate a fence fight with his neighbor. when he was ignored he walked away and proceeded to go potty. would become focused on other dogs when walking.

3/26/2026: Blackie greets me at the front of the kennel, bent ears, loose body and wagging tail. Blackie holds a forward leash, neutral body and low tail as we walked out to the runs he began vocalizing at the other dogs in the other runs.

3/26/2026: a little vocal in kennel during am feeding and cleaning. presented a wiggly body, fast high wagging tail, soft open mouth with loose tongue. walked on a semi forward leash but did not pull very hard. when placing in outdoor kennel he began to low growl towards his neighbor and presented a tense body, stiff erect tail, hard stare and raised hackles. once i removed other dog he relaxed and proceeded to go potty.

3/28/2026: greeted at the front of the kennel with a loose wiggly body and wagging tail. Blackie walked on a semi tight leash, occasionally showing interest in treats but became more focused on the dogs in the runs around us. Blackie would begin growling/forward barking and trying to lunge in the directions of the dogs walking past.

3/29/2026: Approaching kennel dog was wiggly and standing on hind legs with open mouth smile. i easily leashed him and he walked out on semi tight leash. He quickly went potty in the runs and maintained wiggly body. Did see him focusing on dogs and vocalizing. Walked back on a semi tight leash, had no issues placing him back in kennel.

3/30/2026: Approaching kennel dog was wiggly and i easily leashed him. However today when i took him outside he started to pull towards dogs and started to vocalize toward them. I placed him in the runs and he remained wiggly but then started to forward bark at his neighbor. When retrieving him from the runs he started to pull towards the dogs in the runs again. When walking back inside he started to pull towards the dogs that were already in the kennel and started to vocalize and growl. I did not have issues placing him back in kennel though, he walked in right after me and i removed leash.

3/31/2026: Very sweet to people but dog reactive. Today he was standing on hind legs with paws on the door and wiggly body. I easily leashed him and he walked well with wiggly body. Once we went outside he started to immediately pull towards dogs trying to fence fight. I placed him in a run and there was a dog in the one next to him, he immediately ran up to fence and started to forward bark, growl, and show teeth at the dog. Had to remove neighboring dog to give blackie a chance to potty outside. After that he was wiggly. I entered the run with him and he was offering me play bows with wiggly body and open mouth smile. He jumped on me and then hugged me. He responded very well to baby talk and pets. I was able to pet his face, head, and body he responded very well. Once leashing him to bring him back inside he started to pull towards the dogs in the runs again, vocalizing, growling, and showing teeth. When entering the row he started to frantically look around and ran up to the dogs in the kennels, again vocalizing and growling.

4/1/2026: greeted at the front of the kennel with a loose wiggly body and wagging tail. Blackie walked on a semi tight leash, occasionally showing interest in treats but became more focused on the dogs in the runs around us. Blackie would begin growling/forward barking and trying to lunge in the directions of the dogs walking past.

🚑 Medical Notes: 3/24/2026: Weighed 64.0 lbs. Intake condition normal.

3/24/2026: Vaccinated (Rabies, DA2PP-V, Bordetella), dewormed, and given flea prevention. Heartworm test: Negative. Currently stable.

🎥 VIDEOS IN THE COMMENTS 🎥

💜 Volunteer Notes: This poor girl was found with her deceased owner and confiscated by the police. After just a week at the shelter, she's now on the euthanasia list. Frisky is a gentle girl very sweet and low energy. She's pretty severely overweight at 90 pounds but this girl is heartworm negative. She came to the front of the kennel when I came up and was easily looped up and walked fine on a leash. She seemed a little sad and maybe a little confused. After a few minutes of fresh air and some baby talk, she really opened up and was seeking affection. I even got some kisses. Just because her owner died doesn't mean this is the end of her life as well. Frisky needs a hero!

🔹 Intake: Police Confiscate 3/24/2026: Deceased person on site. Please pick up dog. Will be on standby.

📝 Shelter Notes:

3/25/2026: Approach kennel, notice Frisky was sitting in the corner of the kennel. I was able to place the leash on her and she walk out of the kennel. Frisky walked well on a loose leash, pottied outside and walk her back to her new kennel.

3/26/2026: Frisky greets me at the front of the kennel wagging tail, loose body and pulled back ears. Allowed me to leash, held a semi-tight leash, low wagging tail and open mouth panting.

3/28/2026: Frisky shows a soft open mouth, wiggly body, wagging tail. walked out on a loose leash to the runs, and once in the runs, immediately went potty. sniffing around.

3/29/2026: Friendly. Walks on a loose lead.

3/30/2026: Frisky is still quiet in the kennel, walks well on a loose leash.

3/31/2026: Friskey greeted me at the front of the kennel with an open mouth, soft eyes, and loose wiggly body and tail. Easily leashed, and dog walked with a relaxed leash to the runs. Very wiggly and attempted to greet every person she saw. Outside, attempted to get other dogs to play with her to no avail. When I came outside she was sitting by herself at the front of the kennel looking exhausted. Easily leashed and returned to kennel.

4/1/2026: Approaching kennel Frisky is at the front of the kennel loose body, wagging tail and dropped ears. As I leash she walks out holding a loose leash, wagging tail and loose body. Walked to and from the runs no issues.

🚑 Medical Notes: 3/24/2026: Weighed 90.0 lbs. Very overweight. Heartworm test: Negative. Vaccinated (DA2PP-V, Bordetella, Rabies), dewormed, and given flea prevention.

3/27/2026: Rechecked at 90.0 lbs. Overweight. Concern for obesity and possible hypothyroidism if no improvement with weight loss. Needs diet food; if no improvement in 2 months, bloodwork to rule out hypothyroidism recommended.

3/30/2026: Noted blood in urine this morning. Hematuria differential includes UTI vs cystitis. Shelter unable to test further, so treatment started based on symptoms. Recommend private vet follow-up for urinalysis and urine culture. Started Clavamox 375 mg + 250 mg twice daily for 7 days.

Stray

📝 Shelter Notes:

3/7/2026: no muzzle needed during intake, tensed body and tucked tail

3/8/2026: Act approached saying dog refused to walk and couldn't get her out of kennel. I approached and she had her body pressed to wall, shaking, with wrinkled forehead, and was licking her lips. I managed to leash her but she remained pressed to the wall. I baby talked her and she slowly came forward, with tense body and tucked tail. After opening the door wide for her she slowly walked out and followed me. She walked on a tight leash with tense body and tucked tail.

3/9/2026: Approaching kennel, Marron was laying down and backed into the corner, tail tucked, cowered, crouching, ears back, whale eyes. He walked loosely with a low posture, tense body, and would scurry forward then stop as leash tightened.

3/11/2026: Tensed body, whale eyes lip licking, tail tucked in, avoiding me. Once I placed the leash she walked out with a crouched body, tail tucked in. As AEO walked by she started growling, tensed body, hackles up

3/13/2026: she greeted me at the front of the kennel with a neutral body, she walked on a loose leash. When I went to bring her inside from the runs she wagging her tail slowly and let me leash her and she walked on a loose leash backinside.

3/14/2026: Marron greeted me at the front of the kennel. She was easily leashed, and taken outside. Once out in the run, I felt uncomfortable remove the leash due to her hard stare and tense body when I attempted. Mostly kept to themselves outside. Easily leashed and returned to kennel.

3/15/2026: as i walked in dog had a hard stare and as i leashed her she walked lose leash and had a low wagging tail and roamed around in the run and back in her kennel she sat down.

3/16/2026: Tense, walked on a semi loose leash. Leashed walked due to her being tense. Eyes dilated, ears perked.

3/17/2026: Marron greeted me at the front of the kennel with as soft stare and a soft tail wag as soon as I began baby talking her. She was easily leashed, and walked with a loose leash outside. Once out in the run, she mostly kept to herself. Easily leashed and returned to the kennel with no issue.

3/21/2026: Marron greeted me at the front of the kennel with as soft stare and a soft tail wag as soon as I began baby talking her. She was easily leashed, and walked with a loose leash outside. Once out in the run, she mostly kept to herself, but did bark and tail wag at me to get my attention. Very happy and wiggly upon returning to runs to retrieve her, so I gave her lots of pets. Easily leashed and returned to the kennel with no issue.

3/22/2026: Marron was a move adopt to our section this morning. Inside her kennel she can be seen waiting by the kennel door showing interest in what the ACTs were doing while cleaning. When I went in to her kennel to refill her bowl she retreated to the back but then slowly approached to smell me.

3/23/2026: Marron is standing at the front of the kennel greeting me loosely with a high wagging tail, easy to leash and walks out on a semi tight leash. I began to toss treats down below to try and distract her. Soft open mouth pant as she walks. In the run she mostly stayed at the front of the kennel. On the walk back she was still on a semi tight leash. She has been quiet overall throughout cleaning.

3/24/2026: Easy leash her up, takes treats, she presents wiggly body with the baby talk. She walks with loose leash and wagging her tail with the volunteers. She was very relax in the outside runs in the kennel too.

3/25/2026: Marron presents a wiggly body, fast wagging tail and a soft facial expression. She walks on a semi tight leash to the runs

3/26/2026: Marron presented a wiggly body, soft facial expression and a wagging tail. We walked to the runs on a loose leash. When i came back for her, she pulled back on the leash and kept trying to go back into the run, just to avoid walking back. She had a tense body and face as we walked back to south, once in the kennel, she started to relax and wag her tail again.

3/28/2026: Marron painted her kennel, so bad that I moved her to a larger kennel in hopes that helps. She presented a wiggly body, soft facial expression and a wagging tail. We walked to the runs on a loose leash. Coming back in she went straight into her new kennel with no issues.

3/29/2026: Marron was on tech eval for having diarrhea and painting her kennel. I was easily able to get a sample of stool through the food slot in kennel because feces was everywhere. She was heavily panting, pacing back and forth and when I bent over to get the sample she gave me a hard stare with hackles raised. I baby talked her and loosened her body, then started to vocalize and jump on the kennel door. She had a mix of firm stool with loose stool. When I saw her later in the outside runs, she was jumping up and down attempting to climb the kennel door. She was also high pitched vocalizing, pacing and heavily panting, showing high stress signals.

3/30/2026: painted in kennel overnight, approaching to leash she was at front of kennel with a semi tense body, I opened kennel and leashed as she exited. walked on a loose leash to run. In runs began to vocalize and heavily pant

Once we got to the doorway to go outside he froze and backed away. Went back to the doorway in DD so I walked back and waited on his kennel to be cleaned. He tried to back himself into a corner.
