3/30/2026: 1 GS puppy possibly hit by a car, can't move on his own, crying in distress, laying on its back.

📝 Shelter Notes:

3/31/2026: Timid in kennel. Cowers and averts gaze as I enter kennel. I carried him to the next empty kennel.

🚑 Medical Notes:

3/30/2026: Weighed 32.0 lbs. Initially noted as normal exam. Given half tablet per Dr. Lee.

3/30/2026: Started Carprofen 75 mg (0.5 tablet). Vaccinated (DA2PP-V).

3/31/2026: Rechecked at 32.0 lbs. Dog is limping on rear left leg. Left hindlimb mostly non-weight bearing, intermittently toe touching, no overt external wounds observed. Assessed as left hindlimb lameness. Started Carprofen 50 mg SID x 7 days. Radiographs planned for 4/1/2026.

3/31/2026: Vaccinated (Rabies, Bordetella), dewormed, and given flea prevention.

4/1/2026: Rechecked at 32.4 lbs. Still listed as injured.

💜 Volunteer Notes:

Rocky has a few areas where he’s missing fur from what looks like a hotspot or a wound. That doesn’t keep him from being a happy boy. Rocky was eating his dinner when I came up to his kennel. He decided he’d rather go outside so he leashed up and went out to the runs. This boy was a little jumpy at first, but I think he was just getting off his energy from being stuck in the very small evaluation kennel. He relaxed and enjoyed sniffing and looking around all while loosely wagging his tail. He’s a beautiful boy. Watch his videos in the comments.

📝 Shelter Notes:

Rocky presents a neutral body, with a soft facial expression, and a wagging tail. He was hesitant to walk out, but once he started walking he kept a loose leash. When I got to the run, and I tried to take the leash off, Rocky was a little mouthy.

Dog greets me at the front of the kennel ready to go outside, wagging tail, loose body, and erect ears. As I leash, he walks out holding a tight leash, wagging tail, and loose body. Walked to and from runs, no issues.

Caller is stating that the black/large dog has been burnt by someone today and is limping.

Dog greeted me at the front of the kennel with an open mouth, soft eyes, and loose wiggly body and tail. Easily leashed, very energetic, walking with a tight leash outside to the runs. Jumps up when opening the door to leash. Easily leashed and returned to kennel.

Walking up to the kennel, Rocky was standing in front of the kennel door with a relaxed body, soft open mouth, and soft swaying tail. Placed the leash on Rocky, he walked out of the kennel and started walking on a loose leash to the dog run while still maintaining a relaxed body. After being outside for a few minutes, we walked back to his row and while we were waiting, he jumped on me wanting to be petted.

Approaching kennel, Rocky has relaxed body language. I opened the kennel, leashed him, and he walked out. He walked on a loose lead as I took him outside and placed him in a run.

3/22/2026: 1 stray skinny brown dog roaming business strip - charging at citizens in area / appears to be protecting

📝 Shelter Notes:

3/23/2026: Gave Rabies vaccination, then the dog got startled by a loud noise. The dog got away. When another tech help me catch the dog it tried to bite him. Got the dog caught and muzzled. Could not complete work because the thrashed on the leash.

3/25/2026: Greets at the front of the kennel with a wiggly body. Seven walks on a loose leash outside and back inside

3/28/2026: She greeted me at the front the kennel with a loose wiggly body and wagging tail. She walked on a tight leash to and from the runs

3/29/2026: leashed as dog exited, Walked on a semi tight leash to and from runs presented a neutral body.

3/30/2026: Seven greets me at the kennel door with a gently wagging tail and concerned demeanor. He let me leash him and walked semi loosely to and from the potty yard. While walking he had his ears back however when he got outside he relaxed a bit. Inside his kennel he can be seen waiting by the kennel door for interaction.

🚑 Medical Notes:

3/22/2026: Intake exam completed. Weighed 45.0–48.0 lbs. Intake condition listed as severe. Vaccinated with DA2PP-V. Given trazodone. Currently stable on intake.

3/23/2026: Weighed 48.0 lbs. Behavior recheck. Rabies vaccine given.

3/27/2026: Exam for wounds and nail trim under sedation. Left rear dewclaw was ingrown and swollen, with the claw grown into the paw pad. Also noted a 0.5” soft pigmented mass on the left rear caudal thigh. Back right thigh also has a small growth. Nail trim performed. Diagnosed with rear dewclaw pad wound and mass. Started on Clavamox 375 mg twice daily for 14 days and Rimadyl/Carprofen 100 mg once daily for 14 days. Mass needs surgical removal and biopsy.
