Very late walker and I’m at a loss

My son is 15 months. He’s been late on every single gross motor milestone. Rolled at 6 months, army crawled at 10 months, crawled at 12 months. He still has yet to pull to stand, cruise, or even come close to walking. In fact he hates standing. He CAN stand against a surface if you put him there, but eventually whines and plops down. I have tried putting things out of reach like up on a table and he just goes to his knees, whines and yells “UP!”

Please reassure me about late walkers because there’s no way he’s going to be walking by 18 months and I’m so discouraged and sad for him. Summer is coming and I just want him to be able to play at the playground with his big brother but he’s stuck on the ground crawling. Just having a sad day.

ETA: forgot to add the important detail that he’s been checked by multiple specialists and no one can find anything physically amiss. No tests (neuro, genetic, etc) have been done tho. He has also been in PT since he was 6 months old with very slow progress.

Potty training is like pulling teeth and I desperately need advice/reassurance…

Help. Potty training is turning into pulling teeth. We tried Oh Crap bottomless method twice and both times were total disasters. This time (attempt 3) we finally just took pull ups away, went commando, and told him we use the potty now and started taking him at intervals.

He can stay dry for an impressively long time which makes this even more confusing. Eventually he will release, but usually only after sitting on the potty for like 20 minutes with a ton of coaxing, then rinse and repeat.

The biggest issue is daycare. They only sit them for a few minutes so today he had minimal success and a few accidents in his pants. When he got home, he peed his pants again and wouldn’t release before bed. Got his night time pull up and told us “I peed!”

I genuinely don’t know where to go from here. He clearly understands, talks about needing to use the potty, etc but the inability to release is ruining everything. We’ve tried all the usual tricks like blowing bubbles and relaxing him but it’s still a struggle.

I’m at a loss. I really do not want to go back to pull ups unless there is absolutely no other option. He’s almost 3 and needs to be trained for the preschool room. Is this something that can just resolve with time and practice?

Has anyone dealt with this specific issue with release and what actually helped? I need reassurance.

Potty training woes - SOS - does it make sense to keep going?

My son is 2.75. We had 2 failed attempts at “oh crap”, at 26 and 30 months. Ended up going back to diapers because he’d just freak out and hold pee for hours. This time we decided to just tell him diapers/pull ups are all done, and we use the potty now.

Well day 1 he held his pee for 7 hours and then peed/pooped his pants as soon as I left him in his room. Changed, cleaned up. Peed pants 2x more and that was it for the day. Today, he held it for 4 hours and then peed his pants at the store (I told my husband not to leave the house with him unless he pees first… men). Got home, went bottomless. Nothing. Zero potty successes in the time we’ve been at this, despite prompted sits which he happily does. He isn’t stressed or resistant to sitting on it, I think he’s just outsmarted the system in that he can hold through all this and then just release when he wants/feels comfortable. Rewards don’t work, bribes don’t work. We’ve tried chocolates and promises of trips to his favourite indoor playground. Tv time. Sticker charts. Super high value toys. Nothing and no one can convince him to release on the potty.

Does it make sense to keep going? I am so done with this “potty dance”. I feel like he just doesn’t care and doesn’t want to. Do they have to want to? The last time we did this, he was stressed all weekend and flat out refused to go near the potty. This time he’s fine with it but won’t actually release on it. I have no idea what to do but I really don’t want to keep kicking the can down the road. He’s almost 3 and is more than capable. Please someone help.
