Hello, I am a 5'6" woman whose highest weight was 340. I went all the way down to 207, and now I am currently 266, slowly creeping my way back into the 300s.
I'm not sure where my motivation has gone or why I can eat extremely clean for a week, then pig out and binge my face off for three days in a row.
I'm struggling to get past the first week, then feel like I should treat myself, and I completely go overboard. I'm losing my mind.
I'll reward myself with crumbl cookie then continue to go back everyday. I'm struggling to break this habit.
My BF and I both got Crumbl. I've had it many times, but it was his first. He said the cookies were delicious but dry, so I said no way because mine is half-baked. I showed him a picture of mine, and he said his was totally cooked. He was actually in shock at how gooey mine was.
Porosity - low
Texture - extremely fine ( I've never used heat on my hair to have heat damage )
Last week, I asked for advice because my wash-and-go was getting very dry by day 3. I changed my routine based on your tips!
Old Method (First Pictures):
Water
Heavy Oil
Gel
New Method (Maroon Shirt):
Water
Leave-in Conditioner
Light Oil
Gel
My hair feels much softer now, but it takes a lot longer to dry. The curls aren't as tight as they used to be, and I don't think this style will last as long (maybe 5 days instead of 8+). It feels lighter and looks fuller, but the front looks odd to me.
Recently I was reading about how hard water can completely destroy your hair. There are high concentrations of minerals, calcium, and magnesium that cause your hair to be dull, frizz more than normal, cause breakage, and stop your hair from receiving any moisture no matter what you put on top of it. This could be a real reason why your hair feels wet and dry or brittle straight out of the shower.
I'm not sure why I'm just now learning about this, but on the positive side, a lot of our grandmothers, aunts, and mothers did hair and grew hair fine with this water system or worse. Maybe I'm too much in my head. Do you have a soft water system installed, or do you use hard water?
I just wanted to get this out. I sink down to a sunken place when someone tells me my hair is full of heat damage, but in all honesty, I've never used heat on my hair, and the strands just look dull and lifeless sometimes. It sucks, especially when you put so much into your hair to make it look healthier or fuller, and someone says something that pushes you back into a dark place. It's like reality sets in, and you realize the people around you don't see the progress and long way you've come.
1st pic - dry
2nd pic - freshly washed
3rd pic - wash and go
Does anyone with fine hair get mistaken for having heat damage? I've never straightened my hair at all or put any chemicals in it, and I've had a girl tell me I have heat damage, but I've never used heat on my hair. Do fine strands come off as lifeless and dull? I feel sad because I always wondered what was wrong with my hair and can fine 4c hair come off looking like another texture its not because its so fine ?
