Booted CachyOS from USB-drive. No sound.
Ran pretty fast all things considered, but I have no audio whatsoever.
Got a Soundblaster Z.

EDIT:
UPDATE:
Tried Ventoy and it let me create a boot-device without hassle.
Hope it works now.
Wish me luck!
While I did install Linux on my old Thinkpad easy peasy (Linux Mint),
now I want to get Linux on my main-PC,
but would like to install CachyOS.
As allways I'm creating a bootable USB-stick... but the first problem is already rolling in:
I press "flash from file" in Balena Etcher, but this causes the error-message
"Error opening source
"Error: (0 , hrequestMetadata) is not a function"
what now?
I've been out of the HL-game for too long
Any recommendations?
Ps: sorry, topic should've said ".... releases using Source 1 & 2 ?"
We need more Source 2 games!!
And more coop-games!
Imagine a Star Trek FPS like "Elite Force" back then with coop! o0
I've installed CS2 some time ago but didn't play it for long (because my reflexes aren't what they were anymore ^^).
But it was an eye-opener!
The Source2-Engine is so beautiful, well optimized and coop-ready, its absolutely unbelieveable why devs choose UE-slob nowadays!
Damn you keyboard-rabbithole! ^^
waiting for my custom caps to arrive!
meanwhile made someone very happy today ^^
Keyboard is Newmen GM326 and I replaced the Keycaps with ones I found on Amazon (Hyekic).
I don't want (and can't) buy new headphones with the same audio-quality as these and its "just" the earpads that are losing their outer layer.
Is there an easy way to fix this?
Do you think there are shops that fix this?
I've looked online, but most are only focussed on the electronics-part.
And IF I can't fix it...
can you recommend any headphones that sound the same?
Can you play cooperatively against bots on the classic maps?
I seriously thought Brave could be an alternative to Firefox (since firefox tries its best to make adblock and ublock as muddy as possible.).
...but now I stumbled by accident over the brave leo AI! o0
This shit collects all my data even chatlogs (!!!) and sends it to Brave to train their shitty AI (and more) and its an OPT OUT?!
Its on BY DEFAULT?!
what the everloving hell?!
Yeah, I may have been too trusting ... but how tf could I've known they SNEAKILY installed some AI-crap into their browser... on MY COMPUTER?!
Brave can go mold for all I care.
Time for a new browser.
Any suggestions?
...I just don't understand why so many online-shops don't post their key-sizes.
Are these even mechanical Keyboards
and can I replace the keycaps?
Do you maybe happen to know the correct size/specification of their respective "Windows"-keys?
Is having a Creative Soundcard under Linux still a PITA?
Are there maybe alternatives you could recommend, like external-soundcards that sound as good as Soundblaster Z ?
Currently using a Stereo-Setup with two Micca OoOs and a SMSL SA50 thats connected to the Soundcard.

As I was making my list to see what software I need and what I can ditch before switching completely,
I realized how many technical issues with Creative-soundcards there actually were on linux.
But is this still the case?
Anyone here using creative X-Fi on linux?
Any alternatives?
Can you recommend a sub about how ridiculous hardware-requirements are becoming and how illogical the endless hunt for "more details" actually is?
AAA-gaming took a wrong turn at some point.
Modern (AAA) games look more blurry, cant even get mirrors right but demand a personal fusion-reactor to run their newest unrealAI-slob.
My main PC is unfortunately still running W10 because I need it for the Doombuilder.
My experience with Linux Mint on my Demo-Party-laptop was pretty interesting and I was close to uninstalling Windows completely, but I NEED the Doombuilder!
And for whatever reason the DOOMbuilder keeps crashing after a while... "- -
And how badly do I shoot myself in the foot, if I don't want to use the Terminal as much... ?
If I'll try Cachy-OS, do I have to use the Terminal more often?
(I get it: The Terminal us a very powerful tool, but I love my clicking and stuff!)
Is there anyone who would be interested in creating music for 5 - 10 classic Doom-Maps?
