75% recommendation
Hi guys, I just learned that Akko M1 V5 VIA is already discontinued. Any 75% keyboard recommendations within the $100-$150 range? Thank you.
Also, do you happen to know what model superseded the Akko M1 V5 via?
Requirements:
- 75% layout
- prebuilt
- aluminum
75% he keyboard suggestion
I'm looking for a good he keyboard in 75% layout
I have found two - Atk rs7 Mchose jet75
Which one will be good and are there any other better keyboards in this price range similar to the ones I mentioned above?
Cleaning after ant invasion
This is my Hexgears Purple Rain M4 mechanical keyboard. You can't tell now, but not long ago there was numerous ants crawling in and out of my keyboard and it was a horrifying sight. Short explanation; moved into a new place. did not know it was horrifically infested with ants. accidentally left a cup out not knowing my entire desk would pay the price.
I really want to clean inside this keyboard bc as you can imagine, it was *really* disgusting.. So I'm looking for advice. How should I do this so that I do not damage the keyboard? I already plan on vacuuming like I said (I have a tiny hand vacuum for this). I realize it is not likely that disinfectant chemicals can be used on everything, probably not much at all can be but I wanna do a clean as in depth as I can, cause I like this keyboard a lot.
Mchose G75 v2 or Aula Hero 68HE? Which is the best in its segment
reddit.comfirst impressions of keychron q6 he 8k
It's a tank. An absolute tank. It's great. This thing is not sliding around on my desk at all. I think you could put this on top of melted crisco and it still wouldn't move.
I just noticed some things I don't like about it though. When you get it, the buttons that are normally print, scroll-lk, and pause break are not assigned to those functions, but other things. You can remap them, sure, but when I was trying to learn how to set up other things I found myself having to reset the boards settings a few times, so I kept having to reimport the .json I saved from remapping those three functions. (yeah, many people never use those three keys, but I use them two of them so I definitely remapped them to the standard keys)
The sound and feel is pretty good, it's a bit "poppy" but very mellow and not-offensive at all. No complaints at all. I was worried I would be accidently pressing the keys when typing too much as that was a common problem with my last keyboard that used cherry reds, but the switches are much more stable.
I'm still getting the hang of the software and I'm a little anxious because I need to setup a couple macros that repeat without requiring the button to be pressed, but I have not seen a way to do it yet. So far I've only used the keychron launcher, I wonder if this is something that would require setting up QMK. More research is needed I guess. (I can't use autohotkey, it's disallowed to be active in a game I play and I've already been warned for it once)
The main reason why I bought this specific keyboard instead of some others is I liked that it had a physical profile switch, and I specifically did not want wireless. If the feature set has what you're looking for, it's an easy recommendation from me.
Is this plate for screw in stabilizers or plate mount stabilizers?
can it be both?
My keyboard appreciation post! DAY 35 still going strong!
Deinfluence me from buying the Logitech K380 😭
Okay please talk me out of this before I spend again 😭
So I already have TWO keyboards:
• one mechanical (my first one)
• then I bought another one… mostly because it looked nice 🥲
I’ve been working from home for about 9 months now, and I got into the whole aesthetic desk setup thing. Now I keep seeing the Logitech K380 everywhere. It looks so clean, minimal, and very MacBook-friendly… which makes me feel like it’s perfect for me 😭
BUT here’s the thing:
• both my keyboards are kinda loud
• I work night shift
• my partner sometimes sleeps in my room
• my parents’ room is right next to mine
→ so yeah… the typing noise is becoming a thing
Now I’m thinking:
“Okay, maybe the K380 makes sense because it’s quieter”
BUT ALSO:
• I’m trying to save money
• I already have 2 working keyboards
• I might just be influenced by aesthetic setups 🥲
So part of me is like:
“Is this actually a practical upgrade?”
…but another part of me is like:
“Girl you just want it because it’s cute 😭”
So please be honest:
Is the Logitech K380 actually worth it… or am I just convincing myself to buy another unnecessary thing?
Deinfluence me pls 😭
A 98% keyboard layout is just about right if you're left-handed
I was looking for a keyboard last week. Tried 75% (Redragon K681 Pro) but eventually ended up going 98% (Redragon K740 PRO), as it's very hard to play without a numpad.
Magnetic Keys!
Magpress
I customized my mechanical keyboard to have magnetic keys on the WAD keys. I suffer from Tourettes so I lose my finger placement pretty easily when things get heated in games 🥲. I found a good fix though, Magnetic keys! Great for beginners to learn Keyboard and mouse more efficiently and for those finding it hard to learn. If you ever have to look down at your keyboard or use tactile bumps, this is a good fix. I'm actually starting a Kickstarter Campaign to get it out to others too. I assume others are having this issue too so here is my hopes of providing them a solution too. The idea is to get it engineered to perfection before selling. This will require reworking the Board, Keycaps and the switches. All feedback is more than welcome, and I do plan on switching to a silicone ring versus the sleeves which is why I would love feedback. Thanks!

searching for keyboard recommendations !
Hi everyone, so it's been some times since i got my razer keyboards and, even if they still probably have a few years a life ahead, i was starting to search for a new keyboard, to satisfy my curiosity and have a good idea of what i could take if one of my keyboards die, probably the second keyboard i have because he have a broken feet and is in general not a very good keyboard (had a lot of strange glitches and i can't really use it wireless with lights on because the battery is shit). So, it's honestly hard to find a good keyboard even if i have a pretty good idea of what i want, so i'm asking for some help here !
What i'm searching for (ideally, doesn't have to fit perfectly) :
- is prebuilt and can add mods
- not too expensive, something between 60€ to 120€ would be great
- is good for gaming because i play a lot
- sounds super good, maybe creamy or a deeper sound
- switches with a good feeling when typing but i don't really care that much about that even if i write a lot
- have AZERTY, so also a ISO keyboard
- 75%, i like to keep the function keys even if they're not the most useful keys
- (very optional) a knob but i can live without it
- white, i don't really care about the keycaps style because i think i'll change them anyways
- i don't really care about the material but alluminium would be a good choice
- supports wired/dongle connectivity, i don't use bluetooth
- can modify the rgb lights with a great personnalisation
i think it's pretty much everything, as i said not all the requirements are mandatory, the really most important for me is a keyboard that's good for gaming, sounds good and is azerty.
keycap shine through help
Hi, I’m using Akko Rosewood switches on my AL71 Yunzi. I miss the shine-through effect when using the keyboard in the dark. If I buy shine-through keycaps, will they work with this setup (south-facing LEDs + opaque switches)?
installing a software has bricked 2 of my keyboards
So to summarize what just happened to me, i got the new gravastar k1 mercury lite keyboard and after plugging it in , it was working fine. Then i decided i wanted purple rgb to match my setup so i installed the software which windows was telling me NOT TO OPEN, i opened it and my keyboard stopped working completely. i also have an AULA F75 i plugged that in to try to install it again and it also stopped working and im so mad right now
GMMK3 Pro he wireless not detected via USB after firmware Pcb bricked
Hey everyone,
I’m stuck in a really frustrating situation with my GMMK 3 Pro Wireless and could really use some expert advice.
So here’s what happened:
- My 2.4GHz receiver was dead on arrival
- While trying to fix it, my brother accidentally flashed the dongle firmware onto the keyboard PCB
- Since then:
- USB completely stopped working
- Keyboard is NOT detected at all on any PC (no DFU, no unknown device, nothing)
- 2.4GHz obviously doesn’t work
- Bluetooth still works perfectly
I’ve already tried:
- Different cables and USB ports
- Different PCs
- All key combinations (ESC, FN+ESC, ESC+SPACE, etc.) for DFU
- Reinstalling Glorious Core
No luck at all — it just doesn’t show up via USB.
At this point I think the bootloader might be corrupted.
My question:
Is there ANY way to recover this without opening the keyboard or using ST-Link?
Like:
- Any hidden DFU trigger?
- Any way to flash firmware over Bluetooth?
- Any recovery trick I might have missed?
Glorious support offered to send a replacement PCB but only to Canada, which isn’t practical for me (I’m in India).
I’m okay with advanced solutions, but trying to avoid opening it if possible.
Any help would honestly mean a lot 🙏
Super budget keyboard recommendations
I'm currently using a membrane keyboard I got for less than a dollar, is the k617 any good? I don't care about stock sound... I wanna mod it.
Optical Switch Keyboard
I started from looking at discounted Logitech PRO X 60 Wireless Gaming Keyboard Nordic. It seemed great on box but it was a good idea I went to see some reviews. Based on reviews mentioning it rattling like a snake and in general cheap feeling, I settled on Wooting 60HE v2, ISO Nordic, as it seemed to do what I wanted.
Things that I think I would like to have:
* thock? you know, the opposite of ratteling.
* adjustable actuation point. bonus points for analogue joystick emulation.
* low profile / reverse tilt / normal tilt
* rgb (mostly for coloring some keys with different color than others)
* good wireless (logitech lightspeed like)
I used to rock Corsair K60 Pro TKL but it's keytravel felt too long so I switched to G915 series. Currently rocking with G915 and G915 TKL. I love the bigger keyboards macro keys for work but they get in the way sometimes for gaming so I switch to TKL version. The mouse is G903 and I recently ordered Superstrike X2. It seems there is no Logitech keyboard I can use? People say it's not worth it to try to make Pro X 60 better. But it would be nice to keep all in one ecosystem.
So my question here is, is there anything else I should consider or is this (wooting) the end game keyboard I'm looking for?
