Understanding Skilled Worker Visa requirements for under 26

Hi, if I earn £33,400 per year and I’m under 26 but I’ve been in the UK since 2021, am I eligible for Skilled Worker visa ? If not, why ? I’m having trouble understanding the 4 year rule. I’ve been in the UK since 2021 on a student visa and I’m currently on a graduate visa.

Should my sponsor (husband) transfer money to my bank account?

Hello! Me and my husband (both are not EU-citizens) are intending to visit UK for few weeks (touristic 6 months visa). I have no job, no savings etc. Like, completely. All the time we living together, I just used his cards with GooglePay, or cash. He signed a "full financial support letter", but I still need a "Evidence of funds available to you, and which are clearly accessible by you", according to the check-list.

So. Is it better if he will send around 3000GBP to my bank account (besides that completely empty) - or it will only make the situation worse?

In advance, thank you for help - for anyone who will spend their time for this post! It just awfully complicated challenge, with not much guidance

UK Visitor Visa: Is Vignette Enough or eVisa Required?

Hi everyone,

My father has received his passport with the visa vignette already stamped. The visa was granted on 18 February 2026 and is valid from 13 March to 13 September 2026.

The email says:

“Your travel document contains a short-term entry clearance visa, which allows you to travel to the UK. If you do not travel to the UK before your visa expires you do not need to replace it. Instead, you need to create a UKVI account and access your eVisa if you still have permission to enter the UK. Details of how to do this are in the next steps section.”

This has confused us a bit. Does he need to create an eVisa account before travelling, or is the vignette in the passport sufficient for entry?

Thanks in advance!

Fiance to Spouse Visa Document Clarification

Hi there, might be a dumb question but as far as I can see when applying to switch to the spouse visa, I'm essentially including all the documents I used for the Fiance visa (updated for recency where needed and minus the TB test as I don't need clearance), our marraige certificate and proof of the paid helath charge. Is this correct?

And then I use the same form that would be used for the extension of the spouse visa?

Can a partner live in the UK if I have a student visa?

I'm a US citizen scouting graduate schools ahead of time while in a committed relationship. My partner is able to work remote and if we were ideally to move together he'd plan on keeping his US job. Have been looking at UK government sites but they only provide roundabout answers.

Does anyone have an idea if partners/spouses can enter/remain in England while being US-employed if their partner has a student visa?

Skilled worker dependent Visa - Additional documents required.

Hi all,

I have received the email from home office asking for Bank Statement even though I submitted it on the time of application.

I received the email on 16/04/2026 and I replied the same day by referencing the GWF number in the Subject Line.

Should I use send another email by referencing VAF number or GWF is fine?

Also, do they acknowledge that they received the requested documents? And how long does it take now to get a decision?

Thanks.

ILR and traveling back to UK

Hello,

I currently have ILR and am going abroad shortly. I obviously cannot apply for an ETA. Do I need to show anything to airline staff to let me fly back or is it automatically registered in my passport that I have a right to be in the country?

Do UK recruiters care what visa you're on? Trying to figure out HPI vs partner visa for my partner

Aus/UK dual citizen planning to move to the UK for work. Want to bring my girlfriend — Chinese national, graduating from a top Australian uni (ranked ~13 globally) later this year.

We were actually planning to go through the defacto partner visa process here in Australia, but I've been weighing up moving to the UK instead given my citizenship, seems like a better career move for both of us long term. So now trying to figure out the UK equivalent.

In Australia there's a well-known bias where graduate employers strongly prefer grad visa holders over bridging visas — but even on a grad visa it's tough as an international. With the bridging visa recruiters just won't engage at all.

Is there an equivalent bias in the UK?

She has two realistic options:

  1. Partner/Marriage visa: comes with me, full work rights, but tied to our relationship

  2. HPI visa: her uni almost certainly qualifies on ranking, so she could come independently on her own merit-based visa. Then partner after / in the background.

From a practical job-hunting perspective (specifically creative fields — design, media), does it matter which she's on? Do UK recruiters notice or care? And if it does matter, is it better for her to land on HPI first and switch to partner later — or just come on partner visa and not overthink it?

Any insight from people who've hired or job hunted for graduate roles in the UK on either of these visas would be really helpful.

Still awaiting for decision, should we start worried about it?

My girlfriend applied for pre-settled status in May last year as my partner (I have had pre-settled status since 2022).

We provided full documentation about our relationship from 2019, including bank statements, transfers, messages, calls, photos, and a statement from our parents. Based on this evidence, she received her NIN in September 2025. In February, they requested more details, specifically my history in the UK, and we also attached the positive decision regarding the NIN. It has been almost a year, and there is still no update from the Home Office. Should we start worrying about it?

In London for an artist residency for the summer (June, July, August). Have some savings but would need to work to fund my stay.

Hi, I am a student and got an artist residency in London. I am going to be there for 3 months and although I have some savings I would need to work while I stay there to pay for things like rent, and food. What are my options for working in London for that summer? I am a US citizen and full time student. Would really appreciate any insight, thanks!

Naturalisation referee question

Hi everyone,

I am in the process of sending in my naturalisation application and have a question about one of my referees (I've read through previous posts but the information was a bit contradictory).

I was thinking of putting my line manager in, they are not a British citizen but settled through the EU scheme. We work in a university, so not sure if this would be considered of "good standing". I have read the profession list but not sure if working in a university applies to any of them.

My other referee will be a British citizen who is over 25, so I'm not worried about them.

I am applying as the spouse of a British citizen after getting my ILR a few months ago.

Thank you!

EU Settlement Scheme – Has anyone received this exact reply from the Resolution Centre?

Hello,

I contacted the EU Settlement Resolution Centre regarding my application under the EU Settlement Scheme. I submitted my application in June 2025.

They replied with this message:

Your case is actively processing from caseworkers, your documents are complete, please wait to be contacted.

Has anyone received this exact response from the Resolution Centre before?

If yes, what was the final decision in your case (Settled refusal)?

I would really appreciate if you could share your experience. Thank you!

Unmarried partner visa chances?

Hi everyone! I’m hoping to get some advice from those who applied for a UK Partner Visa.

I’m in a committed relationship of over 2 years with my partner, who is Swedish and has ILR in the UK. He’s been living in London for 10 years, has a stable job far above the financial requirement, and owns his apartment.

I’m Romanian and we’ve visited each other monthly, know each other’s families, but we haven’t lived together yet because I need a visa to do so.

My question: do we need to be married to have a strong chance, or do you think our situation is strong enough for the Partner Visa without marriage?

I really want to understand the safest route, as I’m aiming to enter the UK as soon as possible. What would you say is the most secure option in my case?
