What do I do with this awful layout for the bedroom?

I’m at a complete loss with what to do, as the house I’m living in has an awful layout in general, but the bedroom is so small it’s hard to figure out how to fit anything in. This is the only bedroom on the ground floor, we have a finished cellar with a bedroom that’s much bigger but has one of those “fake windows” and the air quality is worse so we’re using this as the main bedroom. We have a king sized mattress (just moved in, no frame), and would like to fit a wardrobe in, we were thinking maybe one with sliding doors to save space, but it still feels so crammed in here. We were also thinking about having a dresser by the window and to maybe fit a collapsible desk or something like that? Please help me figure how to make this space work, any suggestions really help!

Sectional? Or no sectional?

We are looking at the Radley 5-Pc. Fabric Chaise Sectional Sofa from Macy’s

I personally think it will look too big but husband believes it’s perfect

Need thoughts from neutral parties

Any space ideas for my new home?

Hi
I have recently started process of designing for my new (yet to be handed over) flat.
It is a north facing flat for a young couple.
Any ideas on space or designing are much appreciated.
Note: not much can be changed on layout as the builder does not allow any structural changes.

Planning one room as multipurpose utility also.
- study desk
- projector (motorised screen)
- yoga and light workout area
- a mini bar setup
- all my painting supplies
Great speakers
Mood lighting
Sofa cum bed

Any more design, aesthetic, utility ideas are much appreciated. Thanks! ❣️✨

Moving into a new apartment soon and trying to decide whether I can comfortably make a 1B work, or if I should just go for a 2B.

The 1B layout I’m considering has:

- Living room: ~11'3" × 20'9"

- Bedroom: ~11'6" × 11'

- Small den: ~9'7" × 5'9"

(Please see A4.5 floorplan in the link)

I work from home quite a bit, so I need a decent workspace setup ans not just a tiny laptop desk. Ideally:

- Desk with monitor(s)

- Comfortable chair

- Bookshelf/background for calls

- Decent sofa + rug/living space that still feels relaxing and not like an office

The den exists, but it has no window/ventilation, so I’m not sure I’d enjoy working there full-time.

I’m starting to think the best option may actually be putting the workspace in the living room near the window and keeping the bedroom just for sleeping.

For people who’ve made a similar 1B layout work:

- How would you arrange the room?

- Did the living room end up feeling cramped?

- Did you regret not going 2B?

Would especially appreciate layout ideas from people who WFH and still want the apartment to feel like a home rather than a studio office.

Parents bought a bed too large for my room, help me figure out what to do.

Hey all, returning college student. I finally graduated from my broken futon to an actual bed (yay!), but my parents went against my wishes and got a queen-sized bed instead of a full (boo...). They are too proud and too stubborn to realize this was the wrong choice, so I have to make do. I could vent my frustrations endlessly, but I'll spare the metaphorical breath. Here is the layout I've come back to. The double doors actually open into a closet, but I couldn't figure out a way to do that. Everything is sized appropriately. Here are measurements for each piece of furniture:

Bed: 61in x 83in
Desk w/ bookshelf on top: 40in x 18 in
Table: 40 in x 29in
Dresser: 36 x 18in
Nightstand: 26in x 16in
Bookshelf: 41in x 15in

I'm broke and in college, so using what I have would be best. Though I wish I could throw the whole room in the garbage and wash my hands of it...

Thank you in advance :)

Hellooo! I’d really appreciate some help with the layout for bedroom 3 (marked on the floorplan).
It’s on the smaller side, so I’m trying to make it feel functional but still comfortable. I definitely need to fit a double bed, and there’s currently no wardrobe installed,I was thinking of placing one along the wall opposite the door, or possibly doing some sort of built-in storage there.

My initial idea was:
Double ottoman bed placed against the longest wall to maximise floor space
Wardrobe/built-in storage along the opposite wall
Maybe a small vanity or desk near the window for natural light

I’m just not sure if this would make the room feel cramped or if there’s a better way to improve the flow. Ideally, I’d love to include a bit of storage and possibly a small seating/vanity area if it fits without overcrowding.

I’ve attached the floorplan, I’d love to hear any layout suggestions or improvements to what I’ve come up with!

Thank you so much in advance :))

Sun room layout dilemma: TV placement and dual-purpose space help needed

Hey r/roomlayout! My wife and I recently closed on a new home and are trying to make our sun room work as our primary TV viewing space. Our living room is anchored by a wood burning fireplace, and we are not willing to make the aesthetic and practical tradeoffs of mounting a screen above the mantle, so the sun room it is.

What we are working with:

The room has two entryways opening from the kitchen and an adjacent bedroom, a sliding glass door to the backyard, a finished half bath, a closet, a mini split in one corner, and will be furnished with a Lovesac sactional couch, a recliner, a coffee table, and a few accent pieces. The photos I am attaching show the empty room, and I have included dimensions in the from the floor plan as well. We also want to carve out a dedicated game table zone somewhere in the room for euchre, mahjong, backgammon, and the occasional board game without it feeling like an afterthought.

Where we disagree:

My wife wants to anchor the TV on the wall between the two entryways. I worry that placing a screen on a transitional wall between two active doorways will feel visually restless. I would rather tuck the TV into a corner near the mini split, angled diagonally on a media console, and configure the sectional into an L shape so every seat has a clean sightline.

Let me know if y’all have any advice and what you would recommend in this situation! We’d welcome any and all input. Most of all, we can’t wait to move in and make this home uniquely our own! Thank you!!

The entire fireplace wall, and the wall to the right of it, up until the hallway is a rock wall. What are my options for tv placement and seating? Any ideas?

Too squished?

The door to this 2m wide (basin wall to bath wall), 2.25m long from window to door. With this configuration for a 1700 free standing bath - do you think the layout will be too tight to feel comfortable? We don’t want it to ‘feel’ poky. Welcome any thoughts. I think this AI mockup may be fish eyed. Access to the shower is a conundrum, it’s 1.1M from wall to window reveal. Primary reason for the bath that way is to look out the window at the view

Help with this family room layout?

We’re moving into this house in a few weeks and I’m honestly lost at how we should layout this family room. I would love to just make it into a playroom but the fireplace and sliding doors that lead outside to the pool/backyard nix that idea. I don’t know if I like the tv mounted above the fireplace but that seems to be our only option. I played with the idea of the tv on the long wall with a couple of recliners and a small table with a lamp in the middle but that seemed to result in a lot of wasted space plus no convenient outlets.

Our goal is to make this into a reading/chill room. Any suggestions are welcome!!

I need help deciding on this apartment layout. I love the hallway as it separates the apartment a little, but I can’t wrap my head around the open concept style in the kitchen. Does anyone have ideas of how this could work? Any help is greatly appreciated!!

Which couch layout works better?

Moving into a new place and getting a new sectional couch. Given the space and other furniture, I’m debating between the right or left facing sections. Which layout of the room works better? To have the sectional chaise along the window next to the entry or along the kitchen bar counter and keep the chair by the window? Any other recommendations also welcome! Thanks!

My elderly parents are downsizing into this oddly shaped apartment living room/kitchen area and I’m struggling to figure out the best furniture placement.
They use walkers, so clear walking paths and accessibility are the top priority. We are trying to fit:
Medical lift recliner
Reclining chair
Wall-mounted TV
Bookshelves/storage/places for their Knick Knacks
2 small accent chairs for guests (if possible)

The room has very high ceilings but limited wall space because of windows, kitchen layout, closet placement, and weird angles.

Would love layout suggestions, furniture placement ideas, storage ideas, or anything I may not be considering. Thank you!

Layout with furniture that i need

[PICTURE IN POST]
I want to move into this room and I don't know exactly how to furnish it.
That's what i need:

-1 large desk with power outlets for a PC, etc.

-1 bed for two people (usually only one person)

-1 couch (optionally convertible into a bed)

-1 TV (relatively large flat screen)

-1 wardrobe

Add more power outlets if necessary

It's a room in the basement where only the one window lets in natural light.

It's supposed to be relaxing and chill.
