The Mockingbirds 🫣😖
This has gotten out of control. All night long. I have a white noise machine and generally pretty good noise insulation. I guess I’ll try ear plugs as well, but my GAWD! Anyone else suffering?

"Former Arcadia Mayor Eileen Wang was charged in federal court with acting as an illegal agent “at the direction and control” of the People’s Republic of China between late 2020 and 2022, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Central District of California. The news release said Wang is expected to plead guilty in the next few weeks. "
We’re new to the area and want to know what your favorite and best recommendations are for food in the area if you’re trying to impress some friends who rarely visit.
We would prefer something sit down - Italian, American, or Mediterranean.
Any reco’s??
This sick bird has been at the PetSmart at 3347 E Foothill Blvd. for over a month. I spoke to a salesperson last month and they said it was going to get treated, went back today and the bird is looking worse! Their left eye won't open and one of the claws look broken. What can I do?
This school closures and consolidations process has been messy from the start, steamrolled by a costly but ineffectual outside consultant and evidently tainted by 4 Board Members’ behind the scenes scheming before it even started.
My family is considering moving back to La Cañada and I’d love some honest perspective from parents already in the school district.
For context, I grew up in Pasadena and also lived in La Cañada for a few years (without kids), so I’m very familiar with the general area and have always loved it. This isn’t coming from a place of judgment at all — more just genuine curiosity as a parent trying to figure out the right fit for our family.
I obviously know the schools are academically amazing, but I’m more curious about the actual culture/environment for kids growing up there. Does it feel grounded and well-rounded, or very intense/competitive starting young?
I think a lot about things like pressure, anxiety, status culture, social media, materialism, and bullying/social dynamics. I don’t care about having my kids in some hyper-elite environment if it comes at the expense of them feeling happy, balanced, included, and able to just be normal kids.
For parents already there — what has your experience honestly been like? Have you found the environment to generally be kind and healthy for kids socially/emotionally as well, or are there aspects that concern you?
There is a lot of uncertainty around PUSD school consolidation and closures and we’re considering moving to Arcadia. I’ve heard it can be a pretty stressful and competitive environment for kids.
Has anyone moved from Pasadena to Arcadia and been happy with living there and the schools? We are thinking of the highland oaks (north Arcadia) neighborhood. We’ve considered moving to South Pasadena or San Marino first but there are bidding wars and house prices just cost a lot more there.
Appreciate it!
I know i know. We are not too far from Alhambra/Arcadia/SG/etc. But hear me out!
I want to be able to go to a delicious Korean restaurant like BCD or Jinsol or even a Kimbap place, and then walk around old town!
I know there’s Urban Pocha and the bbq place on Raymond, but it’s not the same!
🥺🤓
Goat City has been migrating south in the Arroyo. Today they were mowing down vegetation from Bradford to the Camel's Hump. My dog provided the husky breathing on the soundtrack as I had to restrain him from lunging.
Hello neighbors,
Long shot, I know, but my work tools were stolen out of my car. I’m a piano technician so the tools are useless outside of the profession but invaluable to me. They are not easily resold as technicians are particular. The community is small so the combination and quality of my tools will stick out. It took years to save and invest in, accumulate and refine. It is my livelihood.
Consider this a plea to return it. Or if you know who took it, please urge them to return it. No questions asked.
They’re in a lime green pelican case(pictured) with a red toolbox inside(pictured), among other things.
Not too long after the fire, Google updated the satellite imagery to reflect the fire and thousands of lost structures. Now it's back to pre-fire images of houses and businesses that are no longer there. Why?
At Houston’s on Arroyo Parkway!!
One of the things we’re starting to hear as residents is that people aren’t using the Union bike track, or the Cordova bike lanes, or other bike-related projects, because we in Pasadena don’t have a bike network. But we do have a bike network! We have 109 miles of bike infrastructure! (109.1 miles, to be exact.)
Over the last year, the board of Keep Pasadena Moving worked on a project to determine just how much bike infrastructure there is in the city. Keep Pasadena Moving’s number one goal is always safety. And our Department of Transportation has worked for many years to develop a system of infrastructure on streets that they have determined are good ones for cycling. Click here to read an op-ed written by one of our board members with more details on all the infrastructure we have.
