I keep seeing so many horror stories about the menstrual cycle in perimenopause and how even being on HRT doesn’t help. I’m currently in peri and started HRT in March, hoping to get some relief. But all I see is women still going through hell even after starting HRT. Has ANYONE experienced a change for the better (with your cycle) after starting HRT????

There are known challenges in women receiving the care they need mid-life. Is there a particular aspect of care that you FOUGHT for yourself to receive?

My followup calls usually take about 15-20 min and I always hate paying $150 for that short time so I’m not sure if I will even schedule future follow-ups. At the same time, I also hate to extend the call just for the sake of doing so. Do u all offer rates for 15min intervals?

Is there anything that has helped you to remove your patch that lessens the pain? Esp when patch is on lower abdomen area. Not so bad when its in the back where the skin is thicker back there. I am almost on the verge of getting some of those adhesive removers (for skin). I've tried some oils I have around the house but still painful. I understand you can put it in either place, but some experts say there is more consistent absorbency if placed at abdomen so that's why I try to do, but ... oooo.....mmmmm..... geeee.. the pain when it's time to peel that thing off! Anything you use that helps?

Perimenopause and menopause symptoms go way beyond hot flashes and mood swings. Many symptoms are surprising and not at all what you would expect. What symptom surprised you the most?

I just had my first appointment, I was interested in perimenopause symptoms and weight gain in peri. I have about 15 pounds to lose, my base weight has been about 10 pounds more than in the last 5 years. It’s incredibly frustrating. I had bloodwork done recently with PCP and have high LDL (totally new for me), high glucose and high A1c making me pre-diabetic.
I really enjoyed my appointment and conversation and immediately felt more comfortable than with my PCP (who is this totally fine but transactional)
I went in wanting to discuss a GLP1 and HRT. This was not pushed but my questions. She really looked through my labs from Labcorp which was so helpful and thorough.
In the end, we decided on a 2.5 compound tirz. So the low dose, not micro dose.
I am both excited and nervous. She said I would get an email with follow up for next steps but I haven’t gotten it yet.
What’s next?
(I realize this is more of a review than question but this has been a helpful forum to me so thought I would share)

I have my first appointment coming up this week. I'm considered at high risk for breast cancer. Those of you who are in this situation, did you find Midi was able to offer you options to manage perimenopause symptoms (joint pain, sleep trouble, weight gain)? Would love to hear your experience.

As a woman in perimenopause or menopause, what’s one hill you’d die on?

We’ve earned the right to be a little stubborn, what’s the one thing you refuse to budge on at this stage of life?

I’m trying to decide what to do. I went on vacation and thought that I brought enough patches for all my changes. I did not. I am supposed to put a patch on Saturday morning, but I won’t be home until very late Monday night. Should I just skip those few days, or would it be worth it to pay someone to mail one to me? The cost of two day mail would be almost $14.

Perimenopause really said: let’s make your ear itch…not outside… not reachable…enjoy! 😅But seriously, don’t put anything inside your ears If you’ve got the dreaded itch, stick to a gentle moisturizer on the outer ear (never inside). Who out there has itchy ears?? How do you find relief?

What do you wish you could tell your younger self about this stage of life?

Midlife can be difficult, surprising, and at times, a bit overwhelming. Perhaps you feel as though it would have been nice to prepare yourself a little - maybe know ahead of time that gaining weight out of nowhere doesn't mean to eat less, or that you may have to advocate for yourself to get the care you need. Is there anything you wish you could tell your younger self about this stage of life to prepare yourself?

What’s something another woman said that made you go “oh thank god, it’s not just me”?

Perimenopause and menopause can be isolating, and it's easy to feel like you're the only one experiencing certain symptoms. What is a moment where you said, thank god - it's not just me!, when hearing another woman's experience?
