micro1 Application Statuses Demystified

micro1 Application Statuses Demystified

Hey r/micro1_ai 👋

We get a lot of questions in this sub about the application process in micro1. We’ve prepared this post to answer the most common questions we’ve received so far:

What are the different application statuses in micro1?
We have made a few important updates to micro1 application statuses today (May 12th) to improve clarity, simplify the candidate experience, and make platform workflows more transparent. We’ve retroactively updated application statuses in talent dashboard to reflect these changes, so you may see updates to your older micro1 applications.

Here’s an overview of what each application status on your talent dashboard means:

  • Interview pending: Your application has been received but the interview is missing. Click on job to access the interview link and continue.
  • Awaiting next steps: We’re preparing the next step and will notify you soon.
  • Under review: Your interview is being reviewed by our recruiters. You’ll be notified once the evaluation is complete. This can take up to 48 hours.
  • Did not qualify: You didn’t meet the required criteria for this particular role. Our team may still reach out if they consider you a good fit for another role.
  • [New] Hiring on hold: Hiring is temporarily paused for this role. It may reopen soon, we will reach out with updates once hiring resumes.
  • [Updated] Hiring manager reviewing: You’ve performed well in the interview. While this doesn’t guarantee placement on a project, your profile has been added to our vetted talent pool and is undergoing human review. Our hiring manager will select the best-fit candidates. This process can take up to 30 days, please check your dashboard for updates.
  • Selected: You’ve been selected for this position and have sent you the onboarding steps via email. Congrats!
  • Not selected: You performed well in the interview but were not selected for this position. You may still be considered for future opportunities and can apply to other roles that match your skills.
  • Application incomplete: The AI interview for this role was not completed and the role is now closed. You can apply to other open opportunities that match your skills.
  • Not interested: You chose not to proceed with this opportunity.

There’s no fixed timeline for these statuses. Each step depends on project needs, hiring timelines, and role-specific requirements. Your dashboard will continue to update automatically as your application progresses.

What is the status of my application?
You can check the status of your application directly in your talent dashboard

I passed the micro1  interview and my talent dashboard says that my job is in “Hiring Manager Reviewing" status. Does that mean that I’m selected for a job?
This means that you’ve done well for the micro1 interview and your profile has been added to our vetted talent pool and is undergoing human review and shortlisting for relevant projects. This process can take around 30 days. Please wait for status updates on your dashboard. This doesn’t guarantee placement on a project, your profile

My Interview was in “Satisfactory Interview” status before today. It has now changed to “Hiring Manager Reviewing”. Does that mean that my application is now shortlisted?
We’ve combined the “Satisfactory Interview” status and the “Hiring Manager Reviewing” status into a single one. As of today (May 12, 2026),  “Hiring Manager Reviewing” status means that your application is still in the vetted talent pool, and is undergoing human review and shortlisting for relevant projects. It doesn’t necessarily mean that your application is shortlisted by recruiters. If your application is selected by recruiters, the status will update to “Selected” directly in the talent dashboard.

My Interview was in “Hiring Manager Reviewing” status before the update on May 12th. It continues to be in that stage after today’s update. What does that mean?
Since your application was shortlisted previously, it’s still being actively considered by our recruiters. There’s a high chance that your application may be selected. You will get an update on your talent dashboard within 30 days.

My Interview was in “Hiring Manager Reviewing” status before the update on May 12th. It’s now on “Hiring on hold”, what does that mean?

It means that hiring is temporarily paused for this role. It may reopen soon, we will reach out with updates once hiring resumes. Your profile is still in our vetted talent pool, and our recruiters may also reach out to you about your match for other roles as well.

My application status has been in “Hiring Manager Reviewing” status for over 30 days. What do I do?
Applications get processed in about 30 days, but it may take longer for some roles, as each step depends on project needs, hiring timelines, and role-specific requirements. Please keep an eye out on your talent dashboard for updates. If you are selected, you will receive the onboarding steps via email.

My application is in a “Did not qualify” status. Does that mean that I can reapply for the role?
If you get a “Did not qualify” status for an interview, it means you’ve not met the requirements for that particular role. You won’t be able to reapply for the same listing. However, if there’s a new listing with a similar description and title, you will be able to apply for the same.

How can I improve my chances of landing a job with micro1?
Once you’re in the certified talent pool, you'll receive invitations as relevant opportunities come up.  Simultaneously, you can apply to any open job you see in the Opportunities Portal that matches your skills. You can also get certified in additional skills that reflect your expertise, this increases the number of opportunities you’re considered for. It also helps to keep your profile updated with relevant experiences and projects to improve your chances of landing a project.

How does matching with projects work?
Matching is handled fully by our recruitment team. They review all applications and match candidates to the jobs they are best suited for. After you confirm interest, timelines vary depending on the role and next steps aren’t always immediate. Not hearing back yet is normal and doesn’t mean your profile isn’t strong or that you won’t be considered for other roles. It may mean you weren’t selected for that specific role, that candidates are being onboarded in batches, or that the role has been paused.

When will I get matched to a role?
Matching depends on the specific roles our partner companies open, and how well they align with your profile. There’s no set timeline, but to stay proactive, check out open roles on our opportunities portal and apply to any that match your skills directly.

Do I need to take an AI interview for any role I apply for?
If you’re already certified in the skills required for the role, you won’t need to retake the interview. If a role requires skills you haven’t been certified in yet, you will have to complete an additional AI interview to validate them. Validating the skills required for any particular role is a required step in order to be considered for that position.

I’ve applied and done the interview but haven’t heard back — what’s next?
After completing your AI interview, the recruitment team will reach out directly via email if you’re selected. Timelines can vary depending on project needs, and onboarding often happens in batches. You can also apply directly to new openings anytime here.

How do I know the result of my interview?
If you passed the AI interview, you’ll receive an email confirming your certification. That's what qualifies you to join the Slack community and be matched to roles. You’ll be contacted directly if selected for a project. Updates will be available on your talent dashboard

I haven’t received my certificate.
Certificates are automatically issued after successfully completing the AI interview. If you didn’t receive it, please check your spam or promotions folders. You can also download from your talent dashboard

How long does it take to get a job after certification?
There’s no fixed timeline; it depends on the specific roles our partner companies open, and how well they align with your profile. Once certified, you’re part of the expert pool and can be contacted anytime a matching opportunity is available.

Have any questions that are not listed here? Feel free to ask in the comments, we’re happy to answer them!

Done with Micro1...you should be too.

I'm done attempting interviews with Micro1. You have to do an introduction for every interview. They are incredibly vague, Zara strays from topic to topic or interrupts me, or they have inane tasks where they want you to rate a dashboard (where they don't share a screenshot) or want you to speak extemporaneously in order to evaluate writing ability.

I don't know anyone who has actually been hired by Mircro1. I think that their core competency is training Zara off our free labor.

Hiring manager review spread

They weren’t lying when they said I’m prioritized. What are the chances that I don’t get selected for any of them 😵

u/thronekys — 20 hours ago

Finally some Progression

After getting rejected/ghosted for so long, seeing “Hiring Manager Reviewing” on Micro1 finally feels unreal 😭

first time i’ve gotten this far. Anyone here been through their process before? what usually happens next and how long does it take?

Also just noticed these roles require C1 english, but my vetted english skill shows B2+
will that affect my chances negatively or am i overthinking?

Verification System Rejecting Valid ID Documents Repeatedly

I already passed the assessment process, but now I’m completely blocked by micro1’s identity verification system.

I’ve tried:

  • ID card
  • Residence Permit

Both are valid, not expired, original physical documents, and scanned clearly.

But the system keeps rejecting them with:
“Please use another identity document.”

I also emailed verification@micro1.ai and support@micro1.ai multiple times, but all I receive are the same automated AI replies repeating the exact same instructions again and again.

No actual human support.
No real explanation.
No solution.

I already followed every instruction:

  • clear lighting
  • original document
  • uncropped image
  • exact matching name

Still failing repeatedly.

At this point it feels like nobody is actually reviewing the case manually.

Has anyone here successfully solved this problem or reached a real support person?

What are the chances?

I know this doesn’t guarantee anything but what are the chances of hiring?

Anyone got selected for any of these positions?

I finally passed the interview!

I finally did it, I passed the interview. For anyone who is on the spectrum, eye contact is key. I stared at the blue blob like my life depended on it with a smile plastered the entire time. I think that really helped me pass. Yay!

Signed contract since April 29th — no assignments, no response for 2+ weeks

Hi,I signed my Deel contract with Micro1 on April 29th (AI Trainer | Language expert role). The contract is fully executed and active on both sides.
Since then, I’ve been trying to get onboarded and receive my first assignments. Here’s where things stand:
∙ Reached out to my initial onboarding contact — no response
∙ Escalated to my pipeline lead via both Slack and email — no response after multiple attempts over more than a week
∙ Escalated further up the chain — still waiting
∙ Opened an official support ticket — was told someone would follow up shortly. No one has.
It has now been over 2 weeks since my contract was signed with zero work assignments and no meaningful communication from anyone on the team.
I’m not trying to cause problems — I genuinely want to work and fulfill my contract. But this level of silence after a signed agreement is concerning, and I’m not sure what else I can do from my end.
Has anyone else experienced this during onboarding? Is there a better way to get a response?

Got a contract!

Super excited to get on my first project and signed my contract a couple days ago for a Video-Data Reviewer role. I'm lost though where I go now to start on tasks, do I have to wait for another email?

My take on interviews

I have given Interviews for 3 different Jobs on which includes 2 of my very experienced sectors.
I have done bad with the first interview but other 2 were very great with the knowledge and experience I had.
AI Rejected my interview saying "We found that your results did not align with our certification criteria at this time" I asked for the detailed feedback and found out AI didn't understood the straight approach of solving the problem which cannot be explained in few words and can be done practically only.

I feel like Interview Evaluation should give some relaxations.

I was 100% sure of Passing the Gameplay Data Specialist and AAA Games Contributor but failed them with some silly points.

I hope Micro1 will look into this and go easy with few points if the participant explained it differently and do not read or explain like a written AI format.

Anyone here from micro1?

I have done what seems like 100 interviews with Zara for different projects. I have experience with Mercor, handshake, Turing, etc and am getting no traction at all with micro1 even if the qualifications match the skillset exactly. What am I missing?

I love micro1

Just two days after joining, I got considered for a role I never even applied to because of previous interviews in the same domain. Also have a couple applications sitting in hiring manager review right now, so things are moving pretty fast

Did Anybody Else Get Invited to Be an AI Trainer? Is This Legit?

I supplied all of the documents they requested. Should I just sit tight and wait until they provide more details?

I'm also wondering if this particular program is the kind that lets you work 40 hours a week. Does anybody have any experience with this?

u/PassionofJoanofArc — 5 days ago

I have done 30 interviews with Micro1. It has been over a month and the status has not changed for any of them.

I have done a bunch of interviews with Micro 1. I have passed about 22 of them. I just figured, the more I do, the more of a chance I will be chosen for a role. It has been over a month since interviewing for all of these and the status for them has not changed at all. I am almost like...what is the point of doing all of these interviews.

Has this happened to anyone? Did you ever finally get a role?

Should I reapply for the same job posting?

I applied for a job a while ago and my application status changed to “hiring manager review,” but I haven’t heard anything since then.

Now I’ve seen the exact same job posting open again while my previous application is still there with no update.

Would it be okay to apply again, or should I just wait for a response from the first application? Has anyone been in a similar situation?

I Got Onboarded!

I joined as an expert about 2 weeks ago, and it’s been the best role of my life, freedom to pick hours, bonuses, rewarding pay. The people are the best and respond each time.

I had a question regarding growth within this company.

I got onboarded to a project, I’m doing my best to ace the tasks, and focus on quality work hours. I understand these projects depend on the client needs and theres no fixed duration.

But I feel could really do more and solve problems, and help the workflow as well.

I want to know if I can reach out to my HDM about this or should I stay on the grind and have my work do the rest.

I’m aware 2 weeks is too soon but I love it here and I don’t wanna miss the chance to shoot my shot.😇

Interview still uploading

I'm worried about this issue that showed up on my saved interview page. For some reason, the progress bar was inching along slowly but I got an email that I've completed the Interview.

I don't have it in me to retake it, so I didn't close the tab.

Has anyone faced this in the past?

Update: The progress bar is now at 59% (and I can confirm it's not y internet acting up)

Job application status changed from “Satisfactory Interview” to “Did Not Qualify”

Job application status changed from “Satisfactory Interview” to “Did Not Qualify” after skills were vetted. How does that happen?

I completed the AI interview for a role, had my skills vetted, and the interview result was marked as “Satisfactory Interview.” Today, the status changed to “Did Not Qualify.”

I understand a status like “Not Selected” if the hiring manager or client chose another candidate for reasons such as fit, timing, budget, location, or internal preferences, but I’m confused by “Did Not Qualify,” especially because I met the role requirements, I can say I'm overqualified for the role, and the interview itself was marked as satisfactory.

Has anyone seen this before?
