All you wanted to know about micro1 Recruiter Emails

All you wanted to know about micro1 Recruiter Emails

Hello friends! 👋

Of late, we've received several questions about micro1 recruiter emails in this sub. We'd posted about this here before, but since this is a recurring topic, we're sharing more details in this short post for clarity.

How do I know if the emails from micro1 recruiters are real or a scam?
Official micro 1 communications come from @micro1.ai @micro1.io or @micro1.co email addresses, never from Gmail or other domains. If you’re unsure about an email, check the sender’s address and avoid sharing sensitive data outside that domain. Here's a quick visual guide on how you can check this on the Gmail web client:

Example screenshot of a real micro1 recruiter email in the Gmail web client.

If you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to reach out directly to our support, ask on our Slack, or send us a mod mail here on Reddit to verify.

Why do recruiters email micro1 users?
If you’re already on our talent platform with a verified profile and vetted skills, you may be eligible for multiple roles. Our recruiters proactively reach out when there’s a potential skill match to make sure you don’t miss opportunities. We understand that users are busy and may not see all relevant opportunities that are posted on our platform, so our recruiters proactively inform candidates about the match.

Do I need to do an AI interview for this role?
For most roles, an AI interview is required to apply for roles. This will usually be specified in the email. In some cases (especially if a candidate already has vetted skills relevant to the role), an AI Interview may not be required, and our recruiters will explicitly specify this in the email. If there is no mention of doing an AI interview in the recruiter's email, you will need to do the interview.

Why was I asked to do an AI interview after being told I might not need one in the recruiter's email?
If this does happen, you can ignore the interview requests. Your profile already has the required vetted skills for the role, and as the recruiter has confirmed over email, an additional interview is not required for this role.

How do recruiter emails differ from opportunities shown in the invites tab?
Opportunities shown in the Invites tab are those ready for you to accept, without an additional interview. Recruiter emails are direct outreach messages sent when there’s a strong profile match. In some cases, they could be the roles listed in the Invited tab, and in other cases, they won’t be listed there because additional skill certification is needed through an AI interview.

Hope that clears things up! Just so you know, we also have a dedicated FAQ page on this topic as well, if you'd like to learn more.

micro1 Application Statuses Demystified

Hey r/micro1_ai 👋

We get a lot of questions in this sub about the application process in micro1. We’ve prepared this post to answer the most common questions we’ve received so far:

What are the different application statuses in micro1?
We have made a few important updates to micro1 application statuses today (May 12th) to improve clarity, simplify the candidate experience, and make platform workflows more transparent. We’ve retroactively updated application statuses in talent dashboard to reflect these changes, so you may see updates to your older micro1 applications.

Here’s an overview of what each application status on your talent dashboard means:

  • Interview pending: Your application has been received but the interview is missing. Click on job to access the interview link and continue.
  • Awaiting next steps: We’re preparing the next step and will notify you soon.
  • Under review: Your interview is being reviewed by our recruiters. You’ll be notified once the evaluation is complete. This can take up to 48 hours.
  • Did not qualify: You didn’t meet the required criteria for this particular role. Our team may still reach out if they consider you a good fit for another role.
  • [New] Hiring on hold: Hiring is temporarily paused for this role. It may reopen soon, we will reach out with updates once hiring resumes.
  • [Updated] Hiring manager reviewing: You’ve performed well in the interview. While this doesn’t guarantee placement on a project, your profile has been added to our vetted talent pool and is undergoing human review. Our hiring manager will select the best-fit candidates. This process can take up to 30 days, please check your dashboard for updates.
  • Selected: You’ve been selected for this position and have sent you the onboarding steps via email. Congrats!
  • Not selected: You performed well in the interview but were not selected for this position. You may still be considered for future opportunities and can apply to other roles that match your skills.
  • Application incomplete: The AI interview for this role was not completed and the role is now closed. You can apply to other open opportunities that match your skills.
  • Not interested: You chose not to proceed with this opportunity.

There’s no fixed timeline for these statuses. Each step depends on project needs, hiring timelines, and role-specific requirements. Your dashboard will continue to update automatically as your application progresses.

What is the status of my application?
You can check the status of your application directly in your talent dashboard

I passed the micro1  interview and my talent dashboard says that my job is in “Hiring Manager Reviewing" status. Does that mean that I’m selected for a job?
This means that you’ve done well for the micro1 interview and your profile has been added to our vetted talent pool and is undergoing human review and shortlisting for relevant projects. This process can take around 30 days. Please wait for status updates on your dashboard. This doesn’t guarantee placement on a project, your profile

My Interview was in “Satisfactory Interview” status before today. It has now changed to “Hiring Manager Reviewing”. Does that mean that my application is now shortlisted?
We’ve combined the “Satisfactory Interview” status and the “Hiring Manager Reviewing” status into a single one. As of today (May 12, 2026),  “Hiring Manager Reviewing” status means that your application is still in the vetted talent pool, and is undergoing human review and shortlisting for relevant projects. It doesn’t necessarily mean that your application is shortlisted by recruiters. If your application is selected by recruiters, the status will update to “Selected” directly in the talent dashboard.

My Interview was in “Hiring Manager Reviewing” status before the update on May 12th. It continues to be in that stage after today’s update. What does that mean?
Since your application was shortlisted previously, it’s still being actively considered by our recruiters. There’s a high chance that your application may be selected. You will get an update on your talent dashboard within 30 days.

My Interview was in “Hiring Manager Reviewing” status before the update on May 12th. It’s now on “Hiring on hold”, what does that mean?

It means that hiring is temporarily paused for this role. It may reopen soon, we will reach out with updates once hiring resumes. Your profile is still in our vetted talent pool, and our recruiters may also reach out to you about your match for other roles as well.

My application status has been in “Hiring Manager Reviewing” status for over 30 days. What do I do?
Applications get processed in about 30 days, but it may take longer for some roles, as each step depends on project needs, hiring timelines, and role-specific requirements. Please keep an eye out on your talent dashboard for updates. If you are selected, you will receive the onboarding steps via email.

My application is in a “Did not qualify” status. Does that mean that I can reapply for the role?
If you get a “Did not qualify” status for an interview, it means you’ve not met the requirements for that particular role. You won’t be able to reapply for the same listing. However, if there’s a new listing with a similar description and title, you will be able to apply for the same.

How can I improve my chances of landing a job with micro1?
Once you’re in the certified talent pool, you'll receive invitations as relevant opportunities come up.  Simultaneously, you can apply to any open job you see in the Opportunities Portal that matches your skills. You can also get certified in additional skills that reflect your expertise, this increases the number of opportunities you’re considered for. It also helps to keep your profile updated with relevant experiences and projects to improve your chances of landing a project.

How does matching with projects work?
Matching is handled fully by our recruitment team. They review all applications and match candidates to the jobs they are best suited for. After you confirm interest, timelines vary depending on the role and next steps aren’t always immediate. Not hearing back yet is normal and doesn’t mean your profile isn’t strong or that you won’t be considered for other roles. It may mean you weren’t selected for that specific role, that candidates are being onboarded in batches, or that the role has been paused.

When will I get matched to a role?
Matching depends on the specific roles our partner companies open, and how well they align with your profile. There’s no set timeline, but to stay proactive, check out open roles on our opportunities portal and apply to any that match your skills directly.

Do I need to take an AI interview for any role I apply for?
If you’re already certified in the skills required for the role, you won’t need to retake the interview. If a role requires skills you haven’t been certified in yet, you will have to complete an additional AI interview to validate them. Validating the skills required for any particular role is a required step in order to be considered for that position.

I’ve applied and done the interview but haven’t heard back — what’s next?
After completing your AI interview, the recruitment team will reach out directly via email if you’re selected. Timelines can vary depending on project needs, and onboarding often happens in batches. You can also apply directly to new openings anytime here.

How do I know the result of my interview?
If you passed the AI interview, you’ll receive an email confirming your certification. That's what qualifies you to join the Slack community and be matched to roles. You’ll be contacted directly if selected for a project. Updates will be available on your talent dashboard

I haven’t received my certificate.
Certificates are automatically issued after successfully completing the AI interview. If you didn’t receive it, please check your spam or promotions folders. You can also download from your talent dashboard

How long does it take to get a job after certification?
There’s no fixed timeline; it depends on the specific roles our partner companies open, and how well they align with your profile. Once certified, you’re part of the expert pool and can be contacted anytime a matching opportunity is available.

Have any questions that are not listed here? Feel free to ask in the comments, we’re happy to answer them!

Announcing Realm Warren: A Benchmark for Real-World Legal AI Workflows

Today we’re releasing Realm Warren, part of the Realm benchmark series for measuring frontier AI models on real-world expert workflows.

Each task tests whether a model can produce a legal work product and adapt it as circumstances evolve. We evaluated Claude Opus 4.7, GPT-5.5, and Gemini 3.1 Pro across federal and state law, scored through IRAC: issue spotting, rule identification, factual application, and legal conclusion.

Here are the results (mean score):

  • Claude Opus 4.7: 0.358
  • GPT-5.5: 0.351
  • Gemini 3.1 Pro: 0.219

The sub-40% result shows where models break down on long-horizon legal work. Three failure modes drive it: the IRAC chain breaks after issue spotting, models front-load their effort and fail to revise, and skipping visual exhibits leads to invented facts.

Check out the full report in the our website to learn more!

What do you think about Realm Warren and the future of legal AI benchmarking? Let us know in the comments!

micro1 is a data engine that helps AI labs train foundational models and enterprises build AI agents. We operate at the intersection of human expertise and artificial intelligence by connecting a highly vetted, global network of experts with leading AI labs, enterprises, and Fortune 500 companies.

At its core, micro1 is designed to identify, certify, and deploy top-tier talent (often the top 1%) to contribute directly to real-world AI systems. Through a combination of AI-driven evaluation and human-led project management, we ensure that experts are matched with high-impact opportunities where their skills are most valuable. Our mission is simple: to enable the world’s best talent to accelerate the development of next-generation AI.

Why micro1?

micro1 is more than a career platform; it is an ecosystem that connects elite talent worldwide to contribute to cutting-edge AI development. At micro1, you can:

  • Work on real-world AI projects with top companies
  • Join a curated, high-performance global network
  • Gain early access to emerging opportunities
  • Build validated credentials through AI certification
  • Work remotely and earn in USD from anywhere in the world.

If you’re looking to apply your expertise at the frontier of AI while being part of a selective and fast-growing community, micro1 provides the infrastructure to make that happen.

How to start a career with micro1?

At micro1, we've set up a structured and straightforward process that aims to help our candidates find jobs that match their interests and requirements. Read on to find out more.

Get Started

You can get started with micro1 directly by applying to our available jobs. We have various job opportunities that are accessible through our dedicated Opportunities Portal:  You can apply directly to open roles via the micro1 opportunities portal or LinkedIn (where we routinely share about open roles through our page).

Once your profile is set up and active with micro1, you can continue applying to roles that meet your interests and requirements. You will also receive invitations when your profile aligns with open projects. This flexibility allows you to either target a role or position yourself for broader opportunities.

Complete the AI Interview

Every applicant goes through an AI-driven interview with our AI Interviewer, Zara, which evaluates your communication skills, logical reasoning, and role-specific skills. This is the first step in our interview process. Our interview will also have role-specific challenges; for example, Software engineering candidates complete a live coding challenge, and Human data experts complete task-based exercises simulating real AI training workflows.

  • Treat your AI interview just like a real-world interview. Make sure that you’re in a quiet environment with a stable internet connection, and stay prepared to demonstrate your expertise. The AI interview is a real-world opportunity to showcase skills specific to your role. If you want to prepare, try out some of our mock interviews, interview questions, and our AI Interview guide.
  • In case you didn’t perform well for an AI interview, you will get detailed feedback on your  AI interview performance. Once you’ve passed interviews, your vetted skills are recorded in your profile, and recruiters will reach out to you for matching roles in the future.

Get Certified

After successfully completing the interview, you’ll be required to verify your identity using a government-issued ID (passport, driver’s license, or national ID). Once verified, you become a certified micro1 expert. This certification is what makes you eligible for project matching.  You can increase your chances of getting selected by applying and getting certified for additional roles.

Join our Talent Pool and Track Progress

Certified experts are added to micro1’s vetted global talent pool. From here, recruiters match you to relevant opportunities, and you can also apply to open roles directly in our dedicated talent dashboard, which shows the status of your applied roles. Your status will change to “Selected” if you are selected for a role, which will be followed by signing a contract and onboarding. Matching is handled by micro1’s recruitment team and depends on client needs, timelines, and role requirements. Certified candidates typically get an update on their application status within 30 days of completing their interview. Even if a candidate is not chosen for a role, their application remains in our pool and will be eligible for future roles.

Additionally, certified candidates are invited to an exclusive community Slack composed of professionals across disciplines—engineers, researchers, economists, product leaders, and more. The community provides early access to job and project opportunities, curated learning resources, invitations to expert sessions, and a global peer network of high-performing talent.

Complete Your Onboarding Setup and Start Working

Before starting a project, make sure you've signed your micro1 contract agreement, joined the Slack Expert Workspace, logged in to Hubstaff (our time tracking tool), Deel,  and have access to your micro1 Google Workspace Email. Each project is supported by Human Data Managers (HDMs), who act as your primary point of contact. They help with: Onboarding guidance, resolving blockers, and sharing project instructions and updates. Once onboarded, communication happens primarily through Slack, either via onboarding channels or direct messages.

Getting Paid

Our payments happen on a biweekly basis through Deel. We’ll help you set up your Deel account as part of onboarding. Payments are in USD, based on the number of hours you worked or per task (depending on your project), at the rate fixed during onboarding. You’ll input your banking details directly in the platform, and the funds will be transferred directly. This ensures a smooth and reliable payment experience once you begin working on projects.
