They’re supposed to be cinnamon rolls. I may not have had live yeast either, but I did put what I thought was live yeast in. At this point I’m baking them for science, because it’s the middle of a snowstorm.
I spent hours on these poor bastards. Godspeed to the world’s saddest cinnamon rolls, see you in thirty minutes.
edit: I was posting these live in the thread as this was unfolding, but for the newcomers here are the results + further shenanigans https://imgur.com/a/qDeMWmr
The geniuses in this comment section have solved the mystery. I truly didnthaveeggs’d these poor bastards:
- I used iodized salt instead of kosher salt. u/CrashUser was the one to figure that out from the fact the results tasted salty. Apparently using too much salt (and idolized is more compact than kosher so more salt per scoop) kills the yeast. That poor yeast died a redditors death.
- I used salted butter instead of unsalted, compounding the problem (there is a compound butter joke to be made there somewhere)
- I didn’t adjust for elevation at all
- And of course, no corn starch
The recipe has “everything” as the first word in the title. Sesame seeds would be a fairly logical substitute to do for this recipe, except it’s the recipe creator that doesn’t have the ingredient. Then in the ingredients list apparently the everything seasoning is optional, so what is this recipe even?
I recommend not clicking the link because the number of ads will probably crash your browser.

Rater added broth and is surprised that the end dish looks "steamed." They even admit that it was their own mistake. They also left out a main seasoning component. The recipe creator did not deserve the 3 star rating.
"Why don't you just use the fruit you like in it Julia?"
One star review to ask a basic question

Used 1/2 c. red wine instead of 1/2 c. water. Tasted gross, threw away.
Dan really got into the spirit of the Blender Chocolate Mousse recipe
Dan didn't have eggs for this recipe (or most of the other ingredients), but he made it work!
The curry recipe itself was already so basic that the ingredients were just chickpeas, onion and curry paste. Pretty sure this one wasn't made for you, Nicki.
The soup hurt my feelings.
I mean, the bulk of the review is valid, but oh my lard George.
