Jake Lang spotted at Frisco chamber for tonight's vote on a Mosque and 2 temples

Looks like the whole room is packed today...

For context on Lang:

"Jake Lang is a far-right political activist best known for his role in the January 6, 2021 attack on the U.S. Capitol. He became one of the more prominent figures tied to the riot after being accused of assaulting police officers during the chaos outside the Capitol, including allegations that he used a baseball bat and other objects against officers. Lang spent several years in jail awaiting trial before receiving clemency as part of Donald Trump’s broad January 6 pardons in 2025. Since then, he has tried to turn his notoriety into a political and online influencer career, promoting inflammatory rhetoric, conspiracy-driven politics, and increasingly extremist views. Critics have pointed to his repeated use of provocative anti-immigrant and anti-Muslim language, as well as his attempts to glorify or monetize the January 6 movement, as examples of how he continues to inflame political division rather than distance himself from the violence and extremism associated with the Capitol attack. Frisco Chamber mayoral forum turns tense over Sharia law, rhetoric and city identity

The Frisco Chamber runoff forum between Mark Hill and Rod Vilhauer became one of the sharpest exchanges of the race so far. The discussion moved far beyond traffic and development and into debates over Sharia law, campaign rhetoric, public safety and the political direction of the city.

One of the more notable moments came when Vilhauer was asked to name a city council vote from the last year that he supported and did not identify one. The night also included exchanges over bankruptcy filings, undocumented worker allegations and claims involving CAIR support.

My 12yo nephew will be visiting for the summer. Ideas for socialization?

My nephew will be coming into town in June for a foundational workout camp however it’s only 3x a week for about an hour. I’m looking for ideas on what 12 year olds do so I can keep him busy with something he would enjoy.

Best Sports Bars?

I’ve been really enjoying the NBA playoffs and want to know the best place to watch games. The bar across the streets from me has the games on, but it’s usually pretty empty. Any suggestions?

For all the Christians voting for Rod, I believe the Bible says something about making sure your own house is in order before calling

I believe your Bible speaks about making sure your own house is in order before calling out another brother, or maybe it’s worded like making sure your private life matches your public words, idk it’s been a while and I have since deconstructed my faith due to people like Rod and Keith Craft, Robert Morris. But I say all that to say what the heck is going on with Rod’s son, Tye? 👀👀👀 Rod needs to do some serious cleaning of his house before he can take over the city of Frisco…js

Need to rehome my cat Bast (6M) - incredibly cuddly orange tabby, amazing with kids/dogs/cats + flyer included

This is really hard for me to post, but I’m looking to find a loving new home for my cat Bast.

Bast is a 6-year-old orange tabby that I adopted from a shelter when he was about 6 months old. He was actually about to be put down, and I’ve had him ever since. He’s neutered, fully up to date on vaccines, and has been an indoor cat his entire life.

Personality-wise, Bast is honestly one of the sweetest cats I’ve ever met. He’s extremely affectionate and cuddly, like “cannot not cuddle.” He basically acts like my shadow and always wants to be near people. He’s energetic, curious, vocal in a cute way, and honestly a little too smart for his own good.

He’s fantastic with kids, other cats, and dogs (he grew up around a dog). He’s also incredibly tolerant and gentle. Even when my younger brother visited as a toddler and tried to carry him around, Bast would just patiently put up with it. He has never clawed or bitten anyone.

He’s high-energy and social, but not destructive. He really thrives when he has people around him and gets a lot of companionship and attention.

The only reason I’m rehoming him is because of life circumstances. My fiancée is highly allergic to cats, we’re moving to a much smaller apartment in NYC soon, Bast does not handle travel well, and between our work schedules I can’t give him the attention he deserves anymore.

I’m located in Frisco (Stonebriar area). My priority is finding him a genuinely loving home where he’ll be cared for and spoiled the way he deserves. I’ll also be a little selective about where he goes because he means a lot to me, and I’d love to be able to check in occasionally to make sure he’s doing well.

I included a flyer with more info as well.

If you think you might be a good fit for Bast, please send me a message and I can share more details/photos or set up a meet-and-greet.

Campaign for a Walkable Frisco

If you’re unfamiliar with “urbanism,” it's how inhabitants of urban areas, such as towns and cities, interact with the built environment. Positive urbanism inherently supports public transit and mixed use zoning, with an emphasis on making it easier to do everyday errands without needing a vehicle.

As a native Dallasite, I’ve noticed that there is quite a lack of this kind of infrastructure outside of very few places, which is crazy given the population size.

This doesn't apply to just DFW, but I’m working on a campaign to get local officials involved in supporting this kind of legislation forward. One small step in that is furthering the Build More Housing Near Transit Act. August is coming up, and if you want to get more involved in local politics, this is a great starting point.

Safe, Clean, and Quiet Apartments in the area?

My husband and I are moving to the Frisco(open to other north DFW areas too) area. We toured an apartment in Plano and left feel unsure now. We are now expanding our search to Frisco and other areas. We were hopping for a two bed (open to a one bed) that is under $1,800 base rent. We just want a place with no bugs, that is quiet, and clean place to live. I have looked at some of the reddit posts on this sub and some have had mixed reviews. I'm out if I see a review of roaches. So far we have found Stonebriar Pines. Does anyone have any recommendations? 😄

Thanks Stonebriar

Thanks for putting those new rules in place for mall safety.

HOWEVER, they have driven the cretin children to the Grandscape.

Come get y'all's kids.

Whoever approved this project should be fired. I can’t believe someone looked at this and thought it was a good idea.

It looks like public housing from some third-world country.

What a waste.... why not something like this...

Wild ducks in yard

Hello,

My Mom lives in the Frisco, Texas area and has wild ducks in her yard that won't leave and the female has now laid 10 eggs in the bushes next to her pool. She doesn't know what to do with them and is worried about the babies falling into the pool, and also getting killed by cats, etc. She has called local wildlife rescues and they won't get back to her or they say they are protected and she can't do anything. She is also about to go out of the country on a vacation soon for 2 weeks and is really worried about the situation. What can she do?

Locksmith for new push to start Tacoma

So I lost one of my key fobs at work the other day. I called numerous locksmiths in the area it seems like they broker out a locksmith to come to you ? One guy called me back and I asked him how much and he said he needs to look at the truck and he will let me know. He shows up and proceeds to tell me $350 because he needs to get a new code $150 and then $200 for the fob. ( not OEM ) I tell him I’ve never heard of buying a new code. I already have a working key fob that has all the information. I told him no way, bro he got mad. Is there any real? Locally owned locksmiths in the area that will do an honest job.??

Unpopular Opinion: Why I’m Voting for Rod as a Frisco Parent

Hey everyone, saw that there have been a lot of disparaging comments about Rod Vilhauer on this forum, so I decided to share my perspective.

Before the May election, I didn’t think my individual vote would matter. But now that we’ve pushed this race to a runoff, it’s clear lots of us in Frisco are ready for change. In just the past two weeks, I’ve talked to lots of other Frisco parents who skipped the first round but now plan to show up and vote for Rod. I know more of you are out there and the momentum is happening.

As always, local politics gets toxic fast—just look at the ads against Rod in our Community Impact paper. Whoever wins, the other side will have assumptions about them, but I think we all want peace in our community regardless of the outcome. This isn't a vote based on hate or division, but about moving past complacency for a better Frisco.

If you want a change in direction for Frisco, Rod is the candidate who is against the current system. Here’s why I voted and will vote again for Rod on 6/13:

• Taxes: He will make better use of our tax dollars and ultimately lower them for residents, specifically by attracting corporate talent and headquarters.

• Infrastructure: He focuses on better roads and infrastructure capacity, not just adding more parks and tourism. Let’s walk before we run.

• Fiscal Integrity: He is the only candidate speaking out against fraud that drains our local and federal tax dollars; even if mostly a state issue, we can still be a squeaky wheel.

• Smart Development: He understands the math behind housing, rents, and why we are overbuilding millions of square feet of office space. I see a reckoning coming and don’t understand these empty suites.

• Cultural Preservation: He is taking a firm stand on maintaining our local community standards and preventing the “acceptance” push seen in neighboring cities like Wylie. I see what’s happening in the schools, and while my kids are too young to be impacted by their friend groups today, it speaks to the current trends.

I do have a few Indian friends and neighbors—some of whom are actually voting for Rod. They tend to agree that some bad apples are spoiling the whole bunch; while some candidates are willing to speak out on these tough topics, others choose to defend and look the other way.

Hope we can keep the comments respectful. I feel like I speak for many of us in Frisco. See you at the polls on June 13!

Note: If you aren’t from Frisco, no need for you to chime in. But hope you enjoy our parks!!

Car seat disposal?

I have a few car seats that my kids no longer use as they have grown out of. Is there a way to dispose them? Goodwill/Thrift stores won’t take them so was just curious what to do? Just put them in the trash? I don’t think they are expired yet.

Frisco runoff race now includes controversy surrounding church sermon

A sermon delivered shortly after the Frisco mayoral runoff was set is now becoming part of the public discussion surrounding the race.

During the sermon, Pastor Keith Craft endorsed Rod Vilhauer while making remarks about Islam and Muslims. Vilhauer later released a clarification video discussing Sharia law, religion, and unity in the city.

Girly Clothing Stores

Hey! Looking for help shopping for my little sisters (in-law). I’m from Seattle WA and I don’t really know where to shop for them here. The style I’m having the most trouble shopping for is super girly kinda like coquette? The other one just likes trendy clothes so it’s a bit easier. The issue is let’s call her Kaylee (13) is I believe 5’11 so shopping for her is soooo hard. And Haven (15) the one who likes really girl clothes is so short 4’9. I thought about Becxin in stonebriar but they unfortunately closed all locations. Preferably like to go to big malls. We’re from Krum so I don’t mind driving 1h out.

I don’t mind getting them dresses but I’ve already given them so many from Altar’d State so hoping for other stores!!
