I'm on FCP 12.2 and the keyboard shortcut, Command-Z, to "undo" does not work. It has moved from the "Edit" tab to the "Window" tab for "Zoom". When I go to the Command Editor, it does show that the keyboard shortcut for "undo" is Command-Z but it's not there in my dropdown. Anyone having this same issue?

BTW, opened both Motion and Garage Band and the "undo" was in the correct "Edit" tab.

Hey guys, I have been having an issue with syncing sound up to the footage I have to edit. I am a college student, and I am editing a project where, unfortunately the scratch audio on the camera has been deleted and I have to manually sync the audio and video which is fine. But for one shooting day the audio and the videos seem to be in sync at the start with the clapper and suddenly the audio just becomes gradually out of sync with the actors mouths? im not sure if this is a FCP thing or the camera but is there a way to fix it on Final Cut? any suggestions at all would be helpful thanks.

Any else seeing this new bug in FCP where the Save dialog comes up without the project name, and if you start typing it and hit a space it just empties out again? WTAF, Apple?

Hi guys, just a quick question as I'm looking to get back into the video editing hobby. I purchased a student bundle that included Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro, Motion, Compressor and Main Stage a few years back when I was at university at a great price - but haven't really used the apps for a year or so.

But now the creator studio has rolled out, I noticed that they have redesigned the logos of all the applications and are showing off new features as a part of the subscription. But, my version of Final Cut Pro + Motion are completely up to date but do not have the new app icons. I'm wondering if this means I am missing out on any features compared to the Creator Studio version? Or do I need to change something in my settings? Thanks in advance, and sorry if this question has already been asked.

Hey everyone I have a question so is it possible to decompound a clip and have all the clips show up in the same timeline that the compound clip is on instead of opening it up on a new timeline?

I’ve not got much space so I’m editing a project on an external HDD. Everything is fine but if I close FCPX or the library and try to restart my project, I get a message saying it can’t open it because it doesn’t have read/write permissions. I have to clear it from my recents and reopen it. I’ve checked all my permissions and it’s all open. It’s not a massive deal as there’s a work around but does anyone know how to fix it?

I'm aware you can no longer download the trial, but I still have the DMG and I'm running MacOS Sonoma on my M1 Macbook Pro. Honestly, FCP has been absolutely perfect for me and I am so against the subscription model and new direction for FCP. Because the current version is good, I don't need any updates. I'm planning to use this trial version indefinitely, the only concern is if I update macbooks in a few years; does apple kill old software? It's a DMG made to run natively on apple silicon, but in a few MacOS versions, won't apple just stop this old program from running? Or will I be able to use this outdated DMG of Final Cut Pro indefinitely on every apple silicone mac I have, long into the future?

Can apple kill old applications simply because you update your MacOS without updating your architecture, have they done this in the past with other apps. Because no shit I can't run an old program from 2010 on my M1, but an M4 probably runs everything made for M1.

Hello, I'm new to Final Cut Pro. In all the review videos for the 256GB MacBook Neo, Final Cut Pro doesn't seem to have any issues with light editing of 4K video.

I imported a 15-minute 4K video in 10-bit M-Log from my DJI Action 4. I applied a crossfade, a title, and a LUT to it.

I couldn't export my video because my 512GB SSD was already almost full, even though tests show no issues on a new 256GB MacBook.

Am I doing something wrong?

What makes it better than other Plugins / built in features?

• Free, no subscription, it even works offline
• You can set after how many words the caption splits, i recommend 4-6 for social media

Hi !

I can't figure out how it's possible to get an easy smooth workflow of exporting the audio for sound post production, when you worked with multicam clips before.

First issue: The sound guy tells me that the order of the Audio tracks are not like it should be and switches even inside of one scene. Sometimes the boom track is an A1, sometimes on A5 etc. I now see, that a lot of my synced clips (synced via sync'n'link) have changed track order in comparison to the original audio tracks from the sound device.

So, as we can't split the multicam clips back into the original tracks, it's a big issue for all that follows on sound post. It's for a feature film, so it's not resolved that quickly I mean...

Second issue: The sound guy gets all the audio from the Multicam clips doubled because as we see in the inspector, the sound is always "doubled", even if the audio from the second camera is inactive, he gets so much more audio in his Protools as he needs. It's a big mess.

I'm really wondering why I can't find anything about it online.

I'm working with Final Cut X 12.0 and X2Pro5 5.0.44.

Does anyone know these problems?

Few days ago got into getting more plugins & stuff for FCP

Got mExtension for the first time ever, got some of the free stuff they had, was looking into some of their plugins like mWorkspace, mCounter, mScience, cool looking stuff.

While browsing through the options etc stumbled upon this thing mUtility and mOSC which are some sort of plugins or tools? It was said those things are free to get and i also wanted to add those to my collection but i cannot find it anywhere, also barely any info online even what it does. ( Also the comments of the things being free was from few months ago, and since Apple just bought motion maybe something changed recently? )

when i search mUtility on motion it shows like 8 elements with a mouse icon, some blobs and its not free to get.

Yeah would love some info about this, thanks.
