Got into Haas EWMBA, Booth EMBA, and Fuqua EMBA — which gets me to FAANG VP track?

Holding admits to all three with small scholarships from each. Background: 10+ years in enterprise tech (U.S. Army + Federal consulting), MS in Technology Management from Georgetown and MS in Data Science/AI from Northwestern.

Goal is VP-level leadership in data analytics, ideally at a FAANG company.

My gut says Haas given the Bay Area network and tech ecosystem, but Booth's brand and EMBA cohort seniority are hard to ignore. Fuqua feels like the weakest fit for this specific goal but happy to be proven wrong.

Anyone gone through a similar decision or have insight into how these programs place into FAANG at the VP level? Scholarship deltas are relatively small so trying to decide purely on ROI and network fit.

Got into Ross!

Been a lurker on this subreddit for longer than I care to admit and wanted to share that I just got my acceptance phone call to Ross starting in the fall.

Some very good input from the contributors here and one of the thank everyone for sharing their insights and their own stories that became part of my own application pipeline to a few of the big emba programs here in the Midwest.

Executive MBA at 45

Hey Guys, I need a genuine suggestion. Would it be a good thing to take a career break and do an executive MBA course from a top business school? I am 45 years old and I have 20 years of work experience, mostly into mid level management.

I want to get into a senior leadership role.

Basically title. I've spent my career in mostly Product Management and Product Marketing for enterprise-level SaaS products, and have 5 years in tech and 10 years total experience.

I'm newly at director level and am uncertain whether a standard MBA or eMBA is the move.

Thoughts?

Anyone else finding EMBA application process harder than expected?

I don’t mean intellectually harder. I mean logistically harder. I’m planning on applying to 3 or 4 programs this fall, and I genuinely underestimated what’s involved.

The test prep has been straightforward. But coordinating everything else across multiple schools while working 60+ hour weeks has been its own challenge entirely.

Some things I didn’t plan for:
• Recommenders have their own timelines. I asked two people. One is working on the letter already. The other still hasn’t started and I’m trying to figure out how to follow up without being annoying.

• Schools release deadline rounds on different schedules, and some haven’t announced dates yet. Hard to plan when half the timeline is unknown.

• Interview prep is not generic. I initially thought I’d prepare one set of behavioral answers and reuse them. Then, I started looking at reported questions by school and realized each program emphasizes different things. Had to rethink my approach.

I’m curious if this is a common experience as people begin their application process? I’m sure it’ll get better as I get into the swing of it.

Is an online MBA from GNDU worth it?

Thinking of doing an online MBA from Guru Nanak Dev University along with my job.

Anyone here who has done it or knows about it? How’s the value of the degree, exams, workload, and overall experience?

I’m not expecting huge placements or anything, just want to know if it’s actually useful for career growth

Also does the “online MBA” tag create issues anywhere? Would really appreciate honest reviews.

Should I pursue an MBA at 28? Too old + average academics + 3.5 years experience — need honest advice

Hi everyone,

I’m currently 26 years old and seriously considering doing an MBA because I feel stuck salary-wise and want better career growth. But I keep overthinking whether I’m already too old for it and whether my academic background will hurt my chances of getting into a good college.

My background:

  • 10th: 87%
  • 12th PCM: 58%
  • Engineering (EXTC): Had a drop year, CGPA 7.57
  • Total work experience: Around 3.5 years

Work experience breakdown:

  • 1.8 years as Senior Business Development Executive
  • 6 months Product Management internship
  • 6 months as Business Consultant
  • Currently working in Product Digital Business – Customer Journey role at a good company

I’ve shifted roles over time because I was trying to move toward product/business side roles rather than core engineering.

My main concern is:

  • Is 28 too old to do an MBA if I prepare now and join later?
  • With my 12th marks and engineering background, do I realistically stand a chance at getting into a decent MBA college?
  • Would an MBA actually help improve my salary and career trajectory from here?
  • Should I continue gaining experience instead of leaving for MBA?

Would really appreciate honest advice from people who’ve done MBAs or switched careers later in life. Thanks!

Full time MBA, Delhi Government degree, Zero attendance🕺

Do you want to do a fulltime MBA from a Delhi Government University but you don’t have time to even achieve 20% attendance?

Well, don’t get frustrated. BCIPS Dwarka is here for super lazy guys like you. Or for those who want to get an MBA to brighten their matrimonial prospects.

Even zero percent attendance is not a huge hindrance in your quest for a full time MBa degree.

Banarsidas Chandiwala College at Dwarka Sector 11, Dwarka is just for you.
Affiliated to IP university, this college is struggling with very poor admission numbers.
Why?

Horrible teachers who dictate lectures from AI prepared notes, zero industry experience, poor academic backgrounds and with poor command over language, ensure that most students simply bunk the classes. And since there is no functional canteen or games facilities, the students just don’t turn up regularly. On an average the attendance is 25% of the college strength.

On top of it the college infrastructure is doomed. Leaking RO water coolers that are never serviced, stinking toilets with broken faucets, canteen whose floor remains unswept and whose menu is Maggi and soft drinks, zero recreational activities, make this college the most unattractive place to pursue your MBA.

But how does the college manage to get even 50% admissions? The trick is simple

The college promises to allow you to appear in exams even if you have zero competition. The internal marking system is excellent. Everyone gets at least 30 marks out of total possible 40 marks. So passing the MBA final exams is a breeze. Just get 20 out of 60 marks (final exams) and you get a score of 50% and the prestigious MBA degree (full time) from IP university.

Another USP of the college is that they show 65-70% attendance against your name (in the attendance registers) even if you have zero attendance. Even today, many MBA Final year students are working full-time while pursuing full time MBA

The guys are good and take no bribes, I swear. All they want from you is the university plus college fees and Likes on their Instagram account.

God Bless Banarsi Das College, Dwarka.

One shortcoming: Banarsidas College Dwarka promises 100% placements but almost 99% placements are due to the efforts of the students themselves. No company has visited the campus in the past 3 years.

Is an MBA from NYU worth it anymore? For class of 2028, will there be jobs available?

As someone making 125k pre mba, does it even make sense to go to T15 school for IB/consulting pivot?

For those who’ve made it to senior leadership, did formal education actually help?

I’m a senior TPM with about a decade across manufacturing, FAANG, and robotics in Europe, making a deliberate push toward executive leadership. Trying to figure out if an EMBA or executive short courses are worth it, or whether they matter less than people think.

The honest answer is I want the whole package: finance, leading without authority, strategic thinking, the things an EMBA covers. But I’m not sure if the full programme is the only way to get there, or whether targeted short courses at places like INSEAD or LBS can add up to the same thing at a fraction of the cost.

Has anyone made this call? Did the qualification open doors, or did it matter less than you expected?

Recommended reading prior to eMBA?

Just what the title says - taking any and all recommendations. Can be about adjusting to a different life for balancing course work and work/life (I've been out of school for 20 years) or looking past the degree and planning what's next. I've enjoyed Charles Duhigg's work with how he blends research and anecdotes.

Really open to any suggestions

29M based in NYC, US permanent resident.
Academic background:

  • 3.11 GPA from a Tier 2 undergrad
  • 3.96 GPA from a Tier 2 master’s program (arguably Tier 1 in NYC)
  • 335 GRE

Work experience:

  • 6 years in accounting across PE/HF
  • Last 2 years at a major fund administrator

My goal is to transition into consulting post‑MBA. I’m open to both full‑time and part‑time programs, but I’m unsure how PT programs place into consulting roles.

Given my profile, which MBA programs should I realistically target, and where might I be competitive? Any insight on FT vs PT placement for consulting would also be appreciated.

I really like NYU and CBS, but want more options. Would be applying Round 1 for 2027.

Got admitted into Haas. Got interviewed by Kellogg and Booth. EMBA programs. How big of a deal is it? Looking to submit MIT and Columbia next week. Seriously, is Haas admit and Kellogg/Booth interviews big deal? Do they interview everyone or admit a lot of students? Not sure where I stand relative to other candidates

I had my first interview for an EMBA program with a senior person from adcom and the tone felt slightly condescending. I was asked things like do I even have a team and concerns about me dropping out from the program.

In a second interview with another interviewer, I disclosed that an area I can add value in is around innovation and emerging / deep tech applications as I have an R&D background and get to work on cutting edge stuff. The interviewer said "oooh" in a sarcastic tone like I was presenting myself as a big shot.

I left the interview process feeling really small and doubting myself. Has anyone else had similar experience? I'm not sure how to read this and would appreciate input.

Honest question... I've been attending campus visits, admissions sessions, webinars, alumni chats, etc. for my target schools (5 programs, Fall 2026 Applicant, May 2027 start) and I'm wondering how much this actually factors into admissions decisions vs. being a box-checking exercise?

I've attended a Wharton campus visit and Admissions 1x1. I've attended several admissions webinars for Stern and CBS, planning my campus visits and Admissions 1x1s.

The admissions teams seem to track attendance, but I can't tell if showing up at 3 events vs. 1 event makes a real difference in how they evaluate your application. But there's definitely value in the information pertaining to the application

For those who've been admitted — did you attend multiple events? Do you think it mattered? Or is it more about the quality of your application materials?

Trying to figure out how to allocate my limited free time between event attendance, EA studying, essay drafting, and interview prep.

I am working in UL Solutions, which is a US based company in certification and Safety Sciences. I want to pursue an MBA but idk which country to choose from. There are no responsibilities on me right now, so I am confused whether to do an MBA from INDIA (IIMs) through CAT or USA B-schools through GMAT.

About myself I am 24M working for roughly 3 years in Software, Automation and AI.

Many of our company’s leaders have done their MBA from US but there also are a few from IIMs

I’m stuck.
