Is once a week enough for legs ?

Been in and out of the gym for years, about 3 months into it this time.

Don’t get me wrong. I’m not trying to skip. I love training legs, it’s my favorite muscle to train (I think I have the apt amount of self loathing required to love training them) but I train them super hard to where they are sore for like 5 days afterwards. Does this mean I’m training them hard enough to where once a week will work? Or should I still train them when they are sore, and just do lighter weight?

Edit: 174.5cm

Did actually start prep on March 17th, have pulled off around 15lbs since

However we did decide to technically pull prep early April, I’m dealing with a couple of issues, hip issue and knee issue. Currently rehabbing them

But also currently can’t really do much in terms of legs, lots of light weight single rep high rep low rest time shit just to cause stimulation without agitation

I’m dieting and running everything as if I were in prep, and will make a decision in June, based off my hip/knee and how my legs have held up, wether to transition into prep, or back into a growing phase

2 overall winners at recent natural bodybuilding shows were vegan

Saw this from recent natural shows where Joey Bilotich (overall classic physique pro card) and Chuck “the vegan lifter” (overall men’s bodybuilding pro card) both took overall in their respective divisions while following a vegan diet. Thought it was an interesting result since there’s always debate around diet and performance at this level.
