What is the beer money way of paying TFL?

Hello everyone, I am very new to this community and I have learned a lot so far.

Recently I did a post asking about the most efficient way of paying for Tesco deliveries online and learned about NXRewards. I’ve signed up and made my first purchase, now waiting for the welcome bonus.

I was wondering if there is anything similar but with TFL. I currently use Chas.e for all my TFL payments which gives me 1% cashback. My commute is from zone 3 to zone 2 so I am lucky in that sense. I pay £128.70 a month, which unfortunately doesn’t feel like a lot taking into account how expensive TFL is.

Any advice is extremely welcome, thank you

AJ Bell - £100 Amazon voucher when you deposit or transfer £10k. No need to invest.

AJ Bell is a great investing platform for your SIPP or ISA. I use it for my SIPP and Lifetime ISA and I'm very happy with the low fees and vast selection of funds and stocks. Odds are if you're looking for a particular ETF, fund or stock traded on any major global exchange - they'll have it.

Platform fees are very low. There is a 0.25% annual charge, capped at £3.50/month for ISA and £10/month for SIPP. The cap applies to shares, ETFs, and bonds. Dealing charges are also very competitive at only £1.50/trade if you set up a regular investment. They also offer good interest rates on uninvested cash, especially on their SIPP. The web interface and app are very polished and easy to use and customer service is excellent.

AJ Bell is also one of very few providers that offer a Stocks & Shares Lifetime ISA (LISA). I won't go into detail on Lifetime ISAs here, but it's recommended that you at least have one open, as you are time-restricted on when you can open a LISA account - no later than age 40 and you can only contribute to it by age 60.

Overall, I highly recommend AJ Bell for your SIPP as it beats almost all workplace pensions. If you have a chance to do a transfer, I recommend it. I've consolidated all my workplace pensions from previous jobs there and I'm quite happy.

Now finally for the offer:

If you open a SIPP, ISA or Lifetime ISA with AJ Bell using a referral link and deposit or transfer a combined £10,000 within 120 days, you will receive a £100 Amazon voucher. There is no need to invest the money. AJ Bell pays 2.00% interest on cash in ISAs. You must be a new customer to qualify.

You'll receive the voucher within 30 days of meeting the funding requirement — often the next day — provided you haven't withdrawn or cancelled. Be sure to use the same email address everywhere so it tracks properly. DM me if you have any questions!

Many thanks if you use my referral link below. 🙏

I saw my dad struggling with old work/pay tracking apps, so I built a simpler one

I noticed my dad using one of those older work and pay tracking apps and it was honestly kind of frustrating to watch, too many steps, confusing UI, not really built for quick use.

That kind of made me think there’s space for something much simpler.

So I built TapIn, a lightweight app where you can quickly log work hours and see your earnings over time without it feeling complicated.

It’s still early, but the goal is just to keep it fast, clean, and easy to use.

If you’ve used similar apps (or track your hours for work/freelance), I’d really appreciate honest feedback especially on what feels missing or annoying.

Could anyone with the three+ app giveaway a £3 Cineworld ticket code which they aren’t going to use? Ideally two codes if possible as I’m going to the cinema with another person. It’d be much appreciated. Thanks.

Zilch < Krak stack possibilities?

Hi everyone,

An amazing Redditor was talking about the Zilch card stacking possibilities, I got it now and I have linked it to a PayPal Debit which I have linked to my bank account, so I'm getting cashback for the zilch and rewards on the PayPal debit. I'm now wondering, is there a way to add a Krak card to that process and get the Krak cashback too? Has anyone tried?

Thanks in advance!

It's fairly straightforward - you sign up, complete 10 levels of tasks, and then you can cash out whatever earnings you have.

Steps to complete:

  1. Sign up to cashback.co.uk using my link, you'll get a £10 head start with this link - here
  2. Complete all ten levels of tasks, some examples:
    1. Sign up for Simplycook (just pay shipping, and get £5 profit)
    2. Sign up for AppleTV on Amazon Prime with a free trial - £3.50 profit
    3. Sign up for Betfred (useful to combine with Matched betting signups for extra profit!)
    4. Everyone's levels will be different, but for most levels there are no spend options, or low spend, and they approve fairly quickly!
  3. Provide your payment details (paypal and bank transfer are possible)
  4. Cash out! Cashout is paid on a regular basis and is super quick to process.

I've been using cashback.co.uk for a few years now, as has my partner, and my lifetime earnings with the new site is at £100 - of which probably about £60 is profit.

If you have any questions I'd be very happy to help!

Sprive mortgage overpayments | Cashback on giftcards

If you have a mortgage this app is handy as it encourages you to overpay your mortgage.

The idea with 'overpaying' is that you are chipping away at your mortgage quicker, and becoming mortgage-free sooner. It doesn't affect your current mortgage deal, it's just putting more money into it, so that it reduced your balance bit by bit.

The app allows regular payments into your mortgage via direct debit, one-off payments, or by buying cashback vouchers.

There is a cashback scheme with various shops/supermarket where the cashback goes towards paying off your mortgage. It's an interesting concept and the offers can be decent (when boosted).

Steps for this offer:

  1. Sign up using a referral link: https://linkprod.sprive.com/refer?code=YZ1AOD6L

  2. If it hasn't defaulted in, add this code manually: YZ1AOD6L

  3. Sign up, link your bank account via open banking.

  4. Your mortgage will be searched for and found.

  5. Buy a giftcard and you'll get boosted cashback rates for a week

You can get £5 or sometimes £10 for referring each friend.

This app is helping me pay off my mortgage quicker.

EDF Energy: Free £50

EDF Energy are currently offering £50 free bill credit when you switch to them using a referral link. It’s a nice extra if you’re already considering changing supplier.

Important: Don’t switch just for the bonus. Always check comparison sites first (MoneySavingExpert, Uswitch, MoneySuperMarket, etc.) to make sure EDF is actually cheaper than your current tariff.

If EDF comes out as the best deal for you, you can then use a referral link to receive the £50 credit on your account after switching and making your first payment.

Switch via referral for £50 bonus: https://edfenergy.com/quote/refer-a-friend/ore-birch-2988

Non-referral link (no bonus): https://edfenergy.com/

The credit is typically applied within a few weeks according to the terms. This offer is for new customers and usually excludes those who have had EDF within the last 12 months.

If you’re already planning to change energy provider, this is an easy way to reduce your next bill by £50.

Lebara SIM deal - 50% off for three months

Lebara is offering 50% off for three months for those who sign up using my referral link: https://aklam.io/y6jB6MJ0

I switched to Lebara last year and it’s honestly been one of the easiest networks I’ve used. It runs on Vodafone’s network, so coverage has been solid, and the plans are VERY cheap for what you get.

A few things I’ve liked:

  • No long-term contract, so you’re not locked in
  • Free international minutes to quite a few countries
  • Easy setup, especially if you’re porting your number
  • Decent data allowances for the price

I was a bit sceptical because it’s one of the cheaper options, but it’s been straightforward so far. Haven’t had any billing issues or random price hikes, which is more than I can say for some of the bigger networks.

If you’re already thinking of switching anyway, it’s worth a look.

Cancelled Direct Debit the day of the switch

I just did a bank switch to First Direct. I cancelled my the two active direct debits I transferred the day the switch was completed. Their terms say, "our switch must include at least two Direct Debits or standing orders."

However, I've read that you should keep them active until the bonus is paid out. What's the case here and the best course of action?

What would be the most efficient way to shop online at Tesco?

Hi everyone. I was just wondering if you guys know what is the best way to maximise cashback when shopping online at Tesco.

I have paid for a whole year of Tesco deliveries as it is extremely convenient and saves me a lot of time. Therefore almost always my grocery shopping is done at Tesco.

I spend anywhere in between £60 and £120 a week on groceries for me and my partner.

At the moment I am using a debit card that gives me 1% cashback anytime I pay, combined with the club card points.

Most cashback platforms offer cashback for in store only purchases. I have checked TopCashback and they are offering £1 for home delivery purchases over £70, I might give that a go although I have never used TopCashback before.

I am just looking for advice in general if you guys know of any better ways of doing it. Any help is much appreciated
