3/29/2026: 1 white w/ black spots pit mix dog. Dog name is Spot missing all his fur. Multiple people live in unit constantly in and out. Dog’s owner has not been seen in days. People in the unit not caring for the dog / letting it in the house.

📝 Shelter Notes:

3/30/2026: Approach kennel, presented a relax body, soft squinty eyes. Walks well on a loose leash to the dog run and is quiet in the kennel.

3/31/2026: Dog greeted me at the front of the kennel with an open mouth, soft eyes, and loose wiggly body and tail. Easily leashed, and dog walked with a relaxed leash to the runs. Mostly kept to himself, with some tail wags when greeting other dogs at the fence. Easily leashed and returned to kennel. Very wiggly.

3/29/2026: Weighed 52.2 lbs. Generalized dermatitis with widespread hair loss/thinning and skin redness. Skin scrape negative / no mites seen. Intact male. Vaccinated (DA2PP-V, Bordetella, Rabies 1 year), dewormed, flea prevention applied, and heartworm test negative. May need dermatology workup. Currently stable.

Queenie’s dad unfortunately passed away and his wife became unable to care for her so she found herself left behind at the shelter. When she was surrendered her previous owner said that Queenie attended doggy day care. At the beginning of her time at the shelter she would be in play groups and was dog friendly! Unfortunately the shelter is a stressful place for a dog that’s newly grieving the loss of their person. In her time there Queenie has becoming dog selective. However she is AMAZING with people. She is so friendly, sweet, funny, smart, playful and energetic. She knows some basic commands like sit, down and paw. She’s a strong girl and could use some basic training but she takes direction so well! I’ve spent a lot of time with her outside of the shelter and I really love this girl. She likes to be close to you and when walking she will often look back to make sure you are still with her.

She really needs a foster or adopter asap. Please consider this special girl. 💜

There aren’t enough words to describe just how special Queenie #a2250993 is but I hope this video shows you a portion of her beauty.

She is a smart girl with a lot to offer. She could be your running companion. Travel companion. Park buddy, and cuddle bug. She rides well in the car, loves to be touched and wants to explore everything!

She could definitely use some additional training and guidance to help her navigate the world along side of you. She takes treats gently, loves to play and finds squirrels to be very interesting.  Who can blame her.

She’s selective with other dogs and (refined taste) and might be better suited to a single dog home.

She’s a wonderful girl who has so much to offer and desperately needs out of the shelter. Please consider my friend for adoption, foster or rescue.

💙 CHASE #A593101 - This dog is an unaltered male. This dog is currently located in CLINIC. This dog weighs approximately 48.2 lbs.,is 5Y and has tested negative for heartworm disease. This dog is being posted to rescue due to medical.

*NEEDS TO FIND RESCUE PLACEMENT BY MONDAY, APRIL 6*

This handsome friendly dog came in as a stray with no signs of ownership.  He is not using his rear legs but on X-rays, vet did not see any overt fractures.  Clinic staff did notice some old wounds inside his rear leg that are healing well.

At this time, we do not know if he is urinating/defecating on his own as we have not witnessed it but his bladder did not appear full on X-rays.

TRIAGE ASSESSMENT Animal was brought to the Clinic for triage by staff. Presenting problem/concern: Possible HBC, Not using hindlimbs Additional history: (None Available) Mentation: QAR Temp & Pulse: not done - visual exam only Respiration: Panting Physical Exam/Observations: No nasal or ocular discharge. Unkempt coat. Dog sitting posture noted in the transport cage. Dragging hindlimbs with loss of CP. Unable to stand on hind. Hairloss noted on front limbs with mild erythema.

Assessment: Suspect IVDD vs other Recommendation(s): Requested BupeSR and radiographs. Monitor for voids.

💜 Volunteer Notes: This poor girl was found with her deceased owner and confiscated by the police. After just a week at the shelter, she's now on the euthanasia list. Frisky is a gentle girl very sweet and low energy. She's pretty severely overweight at 90 pounds but this girl is heartworm negative. She came to the front of the kennel when I came up and was easily looped up and walked fine on a leash. She seemed a little sad and maybe a little confused. After a few minutes of fresh air and some baby talk, she really opened up and was seeking affection. I even got some kisses. Just because her owner died doesn't mean this is the end of her life as well. Frisky needs a hero!

🔹 Intake: Police Confiscate 3/24/2026: Deceased person on site. Please pick up dog. Will be on standby.

📝 Shelter Notes:

3/25/2026: Approach kennel, notice Frisky was sitting in the corner of the kennel. I was able to place the leash on her and she walk out of the kennel. Frisky walked well on a loose leash, pottied outside and walk her back to her new kennel.

3/26/2026: Frisky greets me at the front of the kennel wagging tail, loose body and pulled back ears. Allowed me to leash, held a semi-tight leash, low wagging tail and open mouth panting.

3/28/2026: Frisky shows a soft open mouth, wiggly body, wagging tail. walked out on a loose leash to the runs, and once in the runs, immediately went potty. sniffing around.

3/29/2026: Friendly. Walks on a loose lead.

3/30/2026: Frisky is still quiet in the kennel, walks well on a loose leash.

3/31/2026: Friskey greeted me at the front of the kennel with an open mouth, soft eyes, and loose wiggly body and tail. Easily leashed, and dog walked with a relaxed leash to the runs. Very wiggly and attempted to greet every person she saw. Outside, attempted to get other dogs to play with her to no avail. When I came outside she was sitting by herself at the front of the kennel looking exhausted. Easily leashed and returned to kennel.

4/1/2026: Approaching kennel Frisky is at the front of the kennel loose body, wagging tail and dropped ears. As I leash she walks out holding a loose leash, wagging tail and loose body. Walked to and from the runs no issues.

🚑 Medical Notes: 3/24/2026: Weighed 90.0 lbs. Very overweight. Heartworm test: Negative. Vaccinated (DA2PP-V, Bordetella, Rabies), dewormed, and given flea prevention.

3/27/2026: Rechecked at 90.0 lbs. Overweight. Concern for obesity and possible hypothyroidism if no improvement with weight loss. Needs diet food; if no improvement in 2 months, bloodwork to rule out hypothyroidism recommended.

3/30/2026: Noted blood in urine this morning. Hematuria differential includes UTI vs cystitis. Shelter unable to test further, so treatment started based on symptoms. Recommend private vet follow-up for urinalysis and urine culture. Started Clavamox 375 mg + 250 mg twice daily for 7 days.

Approaching kennel, the dog was standing in front of door with a neutral body. Once I put the leash on the dog, she started pulling forward on the leash while walking her to the dog run. Tossed treats but was not interested in them. In the kennel she started to get vocal.

Clean and dry kennel during observation, BAR at the door. Leashed and walked dog out to exercise runs. While off leash she squatted to urinate twice, and defecated. Stool firm, and normal in color. Began to play bow with me, and jump up on my legs. Leashed and returned to kennel.

Gait is dramatically abnormal at times and slightly tucked at others. Assessment notes traumatic back or head injury. Possible swelling in the brain or neurologic tissue from trauma. Leia was found with bad fur condition but Luckily the shelter med notes said it was just singed hair and whiskers. We don't know what happened if it was purposely done or Leia escaped somewhere near a fire but she doesn't let that stop her spirit.

She is a super sweet wiggly petite happy girl. She is exceptionally wonderful with other dogs and was playgroup helper at Lancaster.

She the got transferred to Carson since she had such great behavior. But then due to the hoarding case she's now at Baldwin.

Not even a year old she's been bounced around shelter to shelter and suffered a traumatic ordeal (from the fire) she needs out!

📝 Shelter Notes:

3/16/2026: quiet in kennel, easy to leash, walks on a loose leash too and from runs.

3/30/2026: Chanel is quiet in kennel, easy to leash, walks on a loose leash too and from runs. When she is in the run she minds her business and is ready to come in after a couple minutes.

3/31/2026: Chanel was walked on semi-loose leash due to her forward pulling on the leash and right after giving her some pets, she started to jump on me consistently for a short time. She did a good job keeping her kennel clean over night. Chanel gave a few dogs a hard stare and then would follow them through the gate as they pass by her in the outside runs.

4/1/2026: Chanel tends to pull on the leash when I walk her outside, then I call out to her and she starts looking back at me, turns her body around and then jumps on me, she then starts focusing on walking forward, keeping a loose leash, but eventually will start pulling again.

🚑 Medical Notes:

8/5/2023: Intake as stray (OTC) at 5.1 lbs. Vaccinated (DA2PP-V, Bordetella), dewormed, ivermectin/pyrantel given, flea prevention applied.

8/12/2023: Spay surgery performed. Nail trim completed.

10/12/2023: Weighed 21.6 lbs. DA2PP booster and dewormer only. Started over DA2PP vaccine series. Reported to have loose stool but recently changed food. Monitor and follow up with regular vet. Low-cost clinic list provided. Declined flea prevention that day. Return in 3-4 weeks for next booster.

3/5/2026: Weighed 40.0 lbs. Exam noted as normal. Vaccinated (DA2PP-V, Bordetella, Rabies), dewormed, pyrantel given, flea prevention applied. Heartworm test: Negative.
