🐾🍼 Meet 15 week old puppy Peggy

ID #A2069099

15-week-old German Shepherd puppy • Female • 18 lbs

spayed on 4/29/26

Intake Date: 4/17/2026

Medical notes:

Baby Peggy came into the shelter after an owner-requested euthanasia intake and urgently needs a safe place to grow up. She has already been spayed, vaccinated, dewormed, and started on treatment for an upper respiratory infection after developing a cough. Despite being only a tiny puppy, Peggy has already spent nearly a month in the stressful shelter environment.

Behavior notes:

Peggy is a shy, sensitive puppy who warms up with patience and gentle encouragement. Staff describe her as having a wiggly body, wagging tail, and “smiling” face once she feels safe. She loves treats, plush toys, and baby talk, and she will slowly crawl over for pets before bouncing around happily and licking hands. The shelter can still overwhelm her at times, causing her to retreat or avoid eye contact, but her notes consistently show a sweet puppy trying hard to trust people and come out of her shell.

🐾 Meet 13 week old puppy MADDOX

ID #A2069553

13-week-old German Shepherd mix • Male • 21 lbs

neutered on 5/8/26

Intake Date: 4/23/2026

Medical notes:

Tiny Maddox came into the shelter as a stray puppy and has already undergone neuter surgery (on 5/8/26), vaccinations, deworming, and treatment for an upper respiratory infection with green nasal discharge. He also experienced some nausea and vomiting after surgery, but staff noted it appeared to be temporary post-surgical gastritis and no further treatment was needed. Despite being only a baby, Maddox has spent weeks growing up in the stressful shelter environment.

Behavior notes:

Maddox is an energetic, vocal puppy with classic shepherd puppy behavior. He loves toys, plushies, treats, and attention from people, greeting staff with a wiggly body, wagging tail, and happy smile. Shelter stress has caused him to become reactive toward passing dogs, with barking and lunging noted in the kennel environment, but staff also describe a softer side — he can be timid, cower slightly during handling, and tremble when unsure, especially when left alone. With reassurance, pets, and baby talk, he settles and seeks comfort from people. Maddox is still just a young puppy who needs guidance, structure, and a calm environment to help him build confidence.

Intake Date: 5/10/2026

Status: rescue only

These seven tiny German Shepherd mix puppies are only 4 weeks old and should still be safely with their mother. Instead, they were abandoned behind a business with a bag of dog food and a note. They are currently listed as rescue only due to their extremely young age and fragile condition.

Medical notes describe them as “immature,” with weights ranging from only 2.5–3.2 pounds. They have received initial vaccines and deworming, but puppies this young urgently need specialized neonatal care, monitoring, and a safe foster or rescue placement to survive and thrive.

Because they are only babies, there are no formal behavior notes yet, but these puppies deserve the chance to grow up knowing warmth, comfort, and human kindness instead of a shelter kennel. At just four weeks old, they are vulnerable, dependent, and completely innocent in this situation.

🐾🍼 Meet 5 month old puppy BELLA

ID #A2069954

5-month-old female Labrador Retriever mix • Spayed on 4/29/26

40 pounds • Tan/White

Intake Date: 4/28/2026

Medical notes:

Bella is still just a puppy and has already been through so much. Medical notes show she arrived with a painful eye infection in her right eye, including severe green discharge, redness, crusting, and squinting. After treatment with Terramycin ointment, the infection and discharge resolved, but veterinarians noted severe entropion in her right eye — a condition where the eyelid rolls inward and irritates the eye. BARC is recommending follow-up care with a private veterinarian for corrective surgery. She has also been spayed, vaccinated, dewormed, flea treated, and given Bordetella and rabies vaccines.

Behavior notes:

Bella is a calm, quiet, gentle puppy who keeps her kennel clean and spends much of her day resting on her bed. She walks easily on leash, sits patiently during cleaning, and enjoys playing softly with plush toys. Even in the stressful shelter environment, Bella has remained sweet, easygoing, and well-mannered.

ID #A2069554

12-week-old German Shepherd mix • Male • Brindle

20 pounds

Intake Date: 4/23/2026

Medical Notes:

Matteo is just a baby who has already spent weeks growing up in the shelter. Medical notes show he recently developed an upper respiratory infection with crusty nasal discharge and was started on doxycycline treatment on 5/9. He tested negative for parvo and has received multiple DA2PP vaccines, Bordetella, deworming, and flea prevention.

Behavior Notes:

Despite being overwhelmed in the kennel environment, Matteo shows all the signs of a puppy struggling with stress and confinement, not a bad dog. He is energetic, vocal, jumpy, and highly reactive to the constant activity around him. Notes describe him greeting people with wiggly body language and wagging tails, but also becoming frantic when separated or exposed to passing dogs. He appears to crave reassurance and closeness to people, calming when near human contact.

12-week-old Staffordshire mix puppies

Intake Date: 5/8/2026

Status: Foster/Rescue Only

These six tiny puppies should be spending their days playing, sleeping in warm beds, and growing up safely in homes — not sitting in a shelter facing uncertainty.

Medical notes show the litter is suspected to have ringworm exposure, with several puppies showing hair loss, scaling, and areas of alopecia around the neck. Shelter veterinarians recommend fungal testing and possible treatment. Despite this, they have already received age-appropriate vaccines, deworming, Bordetella vaccines, and flea prevention.

There are no concerning behavior notes for this litter, and at only 12 weeks old, these babies are still at the very beginning of life. Right now, they urgently need rescue or foster placement where they can safely decompress, receive treatment, and continue growing in a clean, loving environment. Ringworm is treatable, but young puppies are especially vulnerable to declining health and stress in a shelter setting.

GERM SHEPHERD MIX, BLACK / BROWN

FEMALE DOB: 11/2/2024

INTAKE DATE: 05/02/2026

RESCUE ONLY

📈MEDICAL NOTES

Mom Gissel has tested heartworm positive (low load) and is currently receiving basic intake care including deworming, vaccinations (DA2PP-V, Bordetella, Rabies), and parasite prevention. She is underweight and medically vulnerable while caring for her litter. She has been exposed to ringworm through her puppies and requires close monitoring and ongoing medical support.

Her puppies (Gamora #A2072041, Georgia #A2072042, Ginny #A2072043, Gina #A2072044, Gia #A2072045, Gregory #A2072056, and Geo #A2072057) are approximately 4–5 weeks old. Several have suspected ringworm exposure or early dermatologic lesions, while others are currently asymptomatic but considered exposed. All are medically fragile due to age, infection risk, and shelter stress. One puppy (Gregory) shows visible hair loss consistent with dermatitis/ringworm suspicion.

🐾BEHAVIOR SUMMARY

Mom Gissel is a young, attentive mother who remains focused on her puppies and generally manageable during handling. She tolerates care and routine movement within the shelter setting. The puppies are age-appropriate—curious, dependent, and highly vulnerable—but currently too young for full behavioral assessment beyond normal neonatal puppy behavior.

🙏 This family entered the shelter together at an extremely fragile stage of life. The puppies are still dependent on their mother, exposed to ringworm risk, and too young to survive long-term shelter conditions safely. Mom Gissel is trying to care for them while fighting her own medical challenges, including heartworm disease and exposure-related stress. This is a critical “whole-family” rescue situation—separation or delay could put multiple lives at risk.

ID #A2069415 5-month-old male American Staffordshire mix puppy (black/white) Male | DOB: 12/05/2025 | Neutered 04/29/2026 35 pounds Status: Rescue Only INTAKE DATE: 04/18/2026

Sultan came in with Mom Raven and 7 other siblings. Sadly, his Mom was euthanized on 4/25. The rest of his siblings are all safe and out of the shelter. Sultan is the last of the family remaining.

📉MEDICAL NOTES Sultan was recently treated for suspected upper respiratory infection (CIRD), presenting with coughing and thick nasal discharge. He is currently on doxycycline (150mg SID x10 days) and has been monitored under treatment protocols. Vaccinations and preventatives are current, including DA2PP-V, Bordetella, Rabies, deworming, and flea/heartworm prevention. He tested heartworm negative. Overall condition is stable, though he remains a young puppy recovering from illness and recent neuter surgery.

🐾BEHAVIOR SUMMARY Sultan is a vocal, sensitive puppy who can become reactive in the kennel environment, especially when other dogs pass by. He shows forward barking, barrier frustration, and occasional leash chewing when stressed or overstimulated. However, beneath the kennel stress, he is still a baby—he softens quickly with calm handling, baby talk, and treats, and has moments of relaxed behavior, enrichment engagement, and quiet rest. He has shown the ability to settle when separated from stimulation and responds to gentle redirection. He is not aggressive with people when approached calmly but can shut down or retreat when overwhelmed.

18-month-old German Shepherd mix siblings

INTAKE DATE: 5/4/2026

📈Medical notes: Mamali and Cujo were both found together in heartbreaking condition with no access to food or water. Both dogs were described as “skin and bones” and had reportedly not eaten in at least two weeks. They are underweight at just 31.8 lbs each and both tested low positive for heartworms, hookworms, and intestinal parasites. They have received vaccines, deworming treatment, parasite prevention, and ongoing Panacur treatment.

💔Despite severe neglect, these young shepherd siblings are still fighting to survive. At only a year and a half old, they should be learning what safety, play, and love feel like — not starvation and suffering.

They deserve the chance to recover in a caring foster or forever home together or separately.

🐾 MEET THIS SWEET, SCARED 8 MONTH OLD AUSTRALIAN CATTLE DOG MIX PUPPY

She hasn't even been given a name yet, just an ID number 💔

ID #A2072580

8-month-old brown/white female puppy

35 pounds

Intake date: 5/5/2026

Status: Foster/Rescue Only

📈Medical notes:

This young puppy is currently medically stable with normal intake findings. She has received standard shelter care including vaccinations, deworming, heartworm testing (negative), and flea/parasite prevention. She was also administered mild tranquilization during intake due to extreme fear responses, and no other medical concerns have been noted.

🐾Behavior notes:

This 8-month-old puppy is extremely fearful and shut down in the shelter environment. She consistently pancakes to the ground when leashed, retreats to corners, and shows no interest in treats or human interaction at this time. Staff report she must be carefully lifted or carried for movement between areas, as she refuses to walk when frightened. Her behavior is consistent with a highly stressed puppy who is currently operating in a freeze response and needs time, patience, and a completely safe environment to begin building trust.

🐾 Meet 5 month old puppy Skyler

ID #A2070743

5-month-old male Labrador Retriever mix • Black/White • 35 lbs

Neutered on 4/29/26

Intake Date: 4/27/2026

📈Medical Summary:

Skyler is medically stable and recently underwent a routine neuter surgery (4/29/26) with no reported complications. He has been vaccinated, dewormed, and started on prevention medication. At only five months old, he is still very much a growing puppy.

🐾Behavior Summary:

Skyler is an extremely energetic, playful puppy who greets people with a wiggly body, fast wagging tail, and nonstop enthusiasm. Staff describe him as very active, jumpy, vocal, and eager for attention. He loves interacting with people and quickly becomes excited when someone enters his kennel.

Like many young puppies struggling in the shelter environment, Skyler is becoming increasingly stressed in confinement. He has been vocal, jumping on kennel doors, and “painting” his kennel when overwhelmed. Staff noted that he seemed especially stressed while wearing his cone after neuter surgery, but once his kennel was cleaned and he settled down, he was often able to relax and sleep. Enrichment and chew items help him decompress.

ID #A2067761

13-month-old male Labrador Retriever mix • Tan/White • 42 lbs

Neutered on 4/21/26

Intake Date: 4/11/2026

📈Medical Summary:

Ziggy is heartworm positive but otherwise continues to stay bright, social, and engaged despite the stress of shelter life. He has already been neutered (4/21/26) vaccinated, dewormed, and started on preventatives. Staff monitored him briefly after a couple episodes of vomiting undigested kibble, but no further treatment was needed and he remained active, eating, and behaving normally.

🐾Behavior Summary: Ziggy is a sweet, affectionate young dog who absolutely loves people and attention. Staff consistently describe him as wiggly, gentle, playful, and easy to leash. He walks well on a loose leash, takes treats softly, and greets people with wagging tails, soft eyes, and happy energy.

While he was initially nervous in the shelter environment, Ziggy has blossomed with kindness and reassurance. He now seeks affection constantly — crying for attention when people walk by and leaning into handlers whenever they stop near him. He enjoys baby talk, pets, treats, and being close to his humans. Shelter staff describe him as relaxed in both his kennel and the runs.

• Padme #A2072296

• Han Solo #A2072298

• Luke Skywalker #A2072301

9 weeks old

Intake Date: 5/3/2026

Foster/Rescue Only

Medical Notes

Princess Leia is heartworm negative and has received vaccines, deworming, flea prevention, and routine intake care. Several puppies are suspected to have possible ringworm exposure after hair loss was noted on tail tips in the litter, and private veterinary follow-up is recommended. The puppies have all received age-appropriate vaccines, deworming, and flea prevention.

Behavior Notes

Princess Leia is extremely fearful and overwhelmed in the shelter environment. Staff describe her as tense, avoidant of handling, and frantic once leashed, likely reacting from fear and stress rather than aggression. She has shown defensive behavior when approached in her kennel and clearly does not feel safe in the shelter setting. The puppies are still very young, energetic, and impressionable, with one noted to scream and panic during handling for photos. This family urgently needs a calm foster or rescue placement where they can decompress and receive gentle, patient care away from the noise and stress of the shelter.

ID #A2072085

6-month-old unnamed female Alaskan Husky mix • Tan • ~30–32 lbs

Intake Date: 5/2/2026

🆘️RESCUE ONLY🆘️

📈Medical Summary:

She is currently stable and has received standard intake care including vaccinations (DA2PP, rabies, bordetella), deworming, and flea prevention. She tested heartworm negative. She was briefly administered mild sedation (Tranq) early in intake due to severe fear and handling stress, but no ongoing medical illness is reported.

🐾Behavior Summary:

This young puppy is extremely fearful and undersocialized. She consistently hides in the back of her kennel with her head tucked into corners and shows trembling, flinching, and a “pancaked” body posture when approached. She does not willingly engage with people and requires careful handling for movement between kennels.

Despite her fear, she is not aggressive. Once placed in a calmer environment, she has shown a small spark of comfort by engaging with soft enrichment items like plush toys, which she immediately clings to for security. This indicates she is capable of bonding once she feels safe.
