It looks like a clip or something that came loose inside the headlight. Anyone ever experience this or have any insight on how to get it out?

New update?
What do you think the second thing means? So, basically it will be flawless, haha.
Anybody have more news?
I am just hugely surprised that they will let us turn on and off start/stop system. It was not on my bingo card this year for sure.

Questions- has anyone purchased the extended warranty from Volvo? Was it worth the money? I have 21,000 miles on my 2024 V60 PE Recharge. The warranty runs out after three years. The extended warranty lasts 8 years / 60,000 miles. $5849 USD. Seems like it should be 100,000 miles…60k miles seems stingy.
I'm so close in pulling the trigger on this one. My only concern is the 77,000 miles it has. It was a fleet vehicle that's why the high mileage. It's certified by Volvo plus the dealership offers lifetime warranty
Hello. Wondering if anyone else notice a thumping sound with their recharge? It happens after pressing down on pedal after a stop. It doesn’t always happen though. It seems to come from the back maybe.
For context, I drive B mode, creep off, and the auto hold brake. I did try changing all 3 of these potential factors but the thump is still there. I changed to drive mode, creep on, auto hold brake off and all the different combos.
Hi all,
I’m driving a 2023 XC60 T8 Recharge.
Has anyone experienced the issue of having no heat despite selecting the heater option ‘on’ when driving in Pure mode. I have tried a reset. Software is at 5.0.5 but I don’t have the option to go to 5.1.9. I don’t know how long the issue has been going on because most of winter I ran it in Hybrid mode, so it used engine heat for the cabin.
Could it be as simple as a fuse? While my service is covered under warranty, I’m trying to avoid the hassle of drop off and pickup from the dealer.
Any suggestions would be most appreciated.
Any "secrets" or useful functions I should know about?
I changed my wheels from the stock 19" rims and Pirelli P Zero Elect tires to a set of 18" Peugeot rims with Michelin Primacy 5 (235/55/18) tires a couple of months ago.
I've seen about a 7% improvement in efficiency but the biggest difference is the comfort (same pressure for both setups) and quietness. Admittedly, the latter will likely worsen over time due to heat degradation of the tire compound.
For what it's worth, I used to get tire slip over drain covers when going downhill on the stock Pirellis, but no longer get that with the Michelins.
Hey all — I’ve got a 2023 Volvo S60 T8 Polestar Engineered (PHEV) and I’m trying to be smart about battery longevity.
I charge at home on Level 1 (120V) and it takes about ~18 hours to go from low to full.
There’s no way to set a charge limit on the car (no 80/90% cap).
My schedule is unpredictable, so I often plug in when I get home low (ex: 20%) so I have EV range available if I need to drive the next day.
Last night I forgot to unplug and it charged to 100%.
It’s parked outside in an open parking lot. Today is rainy/cool, tomorrow ~75°F and sunny.
I don’t plan to drive until Saturday.
Question:
What’s the best move right now?
Unplug it and let it sit at 100% until Saturday
Drive ~10 miles to knock it down (ex: to ~75-80%) and then let it sit
Leave it plugged in (I’ve heard being plugged in can run fans/thermal management off wall power)
Also: for day-to-day, with no charge limit and slow L1 charging, what’s the best routine to balance “battery health” with “I need EV range available”?
(Any Volvo-specific insight appreciated.)
Can anyone help reset the brakes?
I started repainting the caliper, unplugged, and plugged one sensor when I was taking them off. Now, the car thinks there is an issue with brakes, so it disabled all safety features, together with brake booster.
XC40 P8, 2021.
I’m considering a 2024 S60 T8 and I’d appreciate some feedback from the group based on my daily commute.
Two facts about my usage: I drive 44 miles round trip daily and I wouldn’t necessarily plan to charge every day, so I know I’ll spend a lot of time in hybrid mode. I may charge every other day if possible, maybe even less. I have a garage but we rotate which car parks inside.
My questions: How quickly does hybrid mode deplete battery? When accelerating slowly, what speed can the car reach in hybrid mode before the engine kicks on?
My hopes: My commute has a few miles of 35mph speed limits at the start and end, with 55mph in the middle 16ish miles. Would it be reasonable to hope that I could use hybrid mode and keep the electric motor on in the 35mph stretches? Does hybrid mode even work in a way that uses the electric motor at low speeds before switching to gas at higher speeds? What’s the general changeover point?
Thanks for any responses!
Went to a official volvo garage and for this “toc” sound while acellerating in transition to reverse and then acelerate again they said I need to replace full eletric motor ? Around 9k Euros , do you think its rational ? Anyone had this kind of issue ?
I own volvo s60 recharge my2024. I don’t have a roof bar or a tow bar. I know that volvo sells roof mounted bike rack but I’m more leaning towards tow mounts. Did anyone install a tow bar? Can anyone suggest me bike rack installation ideas and where to buy kits? Also, I saw trunk mounted kit in Thule, is it reliable for 7-8 hours of road trips at highway speeds?
Prior to the AAOS 5 update, predictive management actually worked well for me and when it didn't, a simple reboot was all it took. With gas prices near me being over $5 now, I'm entering my route for anything that will exceed my 40 miles of battery range to maximize savings.
I've recently completed a 10 day road trip and only stayed at hotels with EV chargers but my intended savings were thrown off because of this feature not working. I know its not crazy about multi hour trips but the icon would not stay on for my 65 mile drive yesterday causing the car to deplete the remaining 21 miles of battery at 78 mph before I reached my destination not to mention I had my return trip home added as a stop too. (performed a reboot and re-entered my destination multiple times)
The dealership has already reflashed all of my modules (to also solve my wifi issue) and performed a factory reset to where I had to setup everything from scratch.
My plan now is to manually toggle hold when I'm at highway speeds and switch it back to auto when at city speeds. If you owned a recharge model for awhile then you know it makes no sense for the electric motors to run solo at 80 mph like its currently doing unless its downhill.
Aside from constantly sending feedback is there anything else I can do? Deep into the app settings I noticed there are permissions and a few other things I can mess around with.
I just bought this car. 2025 CPO Ultra. Exactly 8 days after it was delivered, the handles are up but the car is locked and unresponsive. Volvo Roadside had me do a series of taps on the handle with and without the key. Nothing. They sent a flatbed to tow it to my local dealership. Now the dealership says that Volvo USA has a whole series of tests they want to do.
The guy who wasn’t terribly clear at Volvo Roadside Assistance said something about “oh your car was probably doing a software update.” But god damn if a software update irrecoverably locks, that’s uh. Suboptimal.
2023MY XC60 Recharge model.
I have currently driven over 120,000 miles, so I am planning to perform an ERAD oil change myself.
Is this the correct part number for the oil?
I’ve heard from some people that the oil required for the 2023MY XC60 is different.
Should I return it?
If anyone has information on this,
I would greatly appreciate your reply.
Additionally, could you please confirm whether the tools I purchased to detach the ERAD are the correct ones?
I’ve never attempted a task like this on my own before,
but I’ve decided to give the replacement a try myself.
I’m feeling a bit nervous!
Thank you.
Hi guys,
I've been searching around, and havent really found what I was looking for.
I have bought a Volvo XC40 Recharge Extended Range Plus and want to fit an OEM folding tow bar.
I have found a towbar from a AWD - will it fit my car?
If any body has done the same, and can share part numbers I would be happy!
To do the coding i'm heavily considering Orbit since i already have an ENET cable from my BMW.

Total Odometer Reading: 63,859.2 km.
• Total Electric-Only Distance: 4,786.4 km.
• Insight: This suggests that roughly 7.5% of the car's total mileage has been completed on pure electric power. For a plug-in hybrid, this is relatively low, indicating the car has likely been used for many long-distance motorway trips where the petrol engine is dominant.
• Total Fuel Consumed: 5,510.34 Liters.
• Calculation: Over 63,859 km, this averages out to approximately 8.6 L/100km (or ~32.8 MPG). This is typical for a T8 driven primarily on the motorway with limited charging.
Total Electric Energy Discharged: 1,212.9 kWh.
• Total Energy from Recuperation (Braking): 507.52 Liters (Equivalency) / 4,997.8 km.
• Insight: The car has "recovered" nearly 5,000 km worth of travel through regenerative braking over its lifetime.
• Current Battery Energy: 1,280.4 kWh total lifetime energy throughput.
Summary:
Based on the 1,212.9 kWh total throughput against a 63,859 km odometer, this battery has been "under-utilized." In the world of EVs and Hybrids, this generally points to a very high State of Health, likely in the 90% to 95% range, simply because the battery has spent most of its life in a stable state of charge rather than being cycled daily.
What do you think?
And is this informative?
